So what was her hematocrit at birth? DId the transfusions work well? She's OK now? Aren't you glad the hydrops was detected and acted upon? Do you think MCA Doppler is 100.000% accurate? Is any test 100.000% accurate? The alternative is serial amniocentesis for delta OD 450, which is no more accurate and can make the problem worse.

So you have the tracings of the MCA Doppler and you know for a fact that the physician interpreted them incorrectly?

I am So very sorry for what has ahppened to your beautiful child. I hope you are able to find justice, I would only hope this story will not be used to push the health care intiative on the rest of us. Please do not allow your tragedy to be used as propaganda. If you think the care she got was awful in today;s system, read the bill, she would have gotten NO treatment under the intiative. Prayers and wishes for a full recovery.

This is such horrifying event to happen it takes my breath away. And a doctor says it just happened on a high risk case as this come on the machine didn't miss it the doctor did.

Its amazing the doctor is saying a Doppler Ultrsound "test-missed" the anemia for "at least a month"- Doppler Ultra Sound is used to check the health of a fetus & blood flow in the umbilical cord, or the heart and brain may be checked.

Blood flow through the vessel in the umbilical cord can be looked at & even blood flow through a vessel in the brain can be used to monitor fetal health. If the ultrasound "test" missed this, WHY is the ultrasound the MOST used "test" by OB/GYN across the USA??

We sat with excitement the day of the shower. Excitement turned to devistation one day later, when my niece was born by emergency c-section. As a result of improper medical treatment, my niece entered this world with a series of problems that were all preventable. Please show this country that careless and wreckless medical treatment will not be tolaterated in this country!
