Love the guitar playing. Have always loved his music. Great with the E street band but great as a solo artist as well. Will chase up his records in the new year.
Right at almost the exact halfway point 2:45 it shifts gears and becomes pure bliss, and the guitars trading riffs at the end is beautiful...he's s unique...well, actually isn't that his brother playing along w/ him? Must run in the family!
His parents lived down the street from me when I was a kid. He was there off and on. Great to see the neighborhood rockstar! I like his first solo album the best.
This album was absolutely SPECTACULAR! Sorry for the upper case intensity but it is so great to see someone that you loved listening to get into playing so much. I'm glad he made a living with The Boss but his solo stuff - incredible.
Man I loved Nils. Saw him a couple of times. Saw him touring this album in upstate NY at Wells college. We were standing 6 inches from him. The stage riser was only a couple of inches high. He blew it all out. He was standing on his piano bench playing lead guitar, then flipped his guitar on his back, leaned over and banged on the keyboards. Crazy good times.
This was simply never off the record deck. One of those songs that gets to the nuts of it's time. This is the great original recording. Like wozza59 below, I saw him many years ago at the 'Redcar Bowl'. A most unlikely venue for perhaps the best concert I've ever seen.
I picked up this album by chance in 1977 and was an instant fan. Sorry to see him play "second fiddle" with Bruce instead of making a great career for himself. But that's Nils I guess..
Saw him at Redcar, Cleveland (UK) .... quite possibly the best I've been to. Was a small venue and the sound was excellent. Was right up front to see the 'small but perfectly formed' one do his stuff.

It wasn't Wozza lol... it was me. Small venue, excellent sound as I recall... and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Well, there was a fight broke out, but it didn't seem to put much of a dent in the proceedings. The bouncers dealt with it rather promptly.
Yep, was a good night ...x

Hard to believe he's been in The E Street Band for 26 years as of 2010! Still incredible, then and now!
