  • The only good and constructive criticism made by this guy is the last bit dealing with God's love or fury. God does not love evil but loves people and wants them to change. God does not like people that do evil acts and is against them, but because He is so loving, He gives them chances upon chances to repent and do good. So really, even this last criticism is also a bit too harsh. People are trying their best to preach God's message of Love, so please but don't cruciify them so non-chalantly.

  • yes we had a 1st chance. Remember Adam in the garden of Eden? He was given a choice or chance to obey God but failed and now with coming of Jesus, we have a 2nd chance to obey (listen to) Jesus and live that eternal and joyful life God purposed for us from the foundation of the earth. Really, this critique is baseless. Jesus warned us not to attack each other. He that is not against us is with us. Let the guy make his own video based on his knowledge but can't go attacking people's effort.

  • The guy posting this is way off mark. You can't go attacking people trying to use all kinds of arguement like apostle Paul to convey and convince them of the love and sacrifice of Christ. Jesus did the same by using parables and analogies. This guy wants peoople to check every word that comes out of their mouth to the extent that all they can do is parrot the 10 commandments. Who will listen to such a dull and really empty message. Like Jesus warned, the letter killeth.

  • more men speaking of things from a fleshly mind which they have not seen....the people perish from lack of vision of the unseen things which make up the things that are seen. does the phrase, they have not entered the Kingdom of heaven and keep others from doing so strike a familar note to ya. where is the power? the speaker and rick warren are both as blind as bats.

  • more men speaking of things from a fleshly mind which they have not seen....the people perish from lack of vision of the unseen things which make up the things that are seen. does the phrase, they have not entered the Kingdom of heaven and keep others from doing so. where is the power? the speaker and rick warren are both as blind as bats.

  • anyone like rick warren who's working w/ the obama administration so closely & is being championed 2 some extent by the new york times is clearly not of God. if U really preach the unadulterated word of God, this world's power structures aren't going to accept and champion U. no, their spirit is 2 treat anyone truthful in the same manner that the power structure treated Christ. the power structure accepts him because on the surface it appears moral, but they know its really like their spirit.

  • This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

  • rick clearly doesn't understand the depravity of man and the holiness of god. wow.

  • Its sad to see people like this standing behind a pulpit and talking nonsense.

God cleans our sins only of we TRULLY believe in him and REPENT for what we've done. But it has to come from the heart because really that's all God wants. a REPENTED heart. If we show we're repented God will bless us with His Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit will help us look at things and figure out if its good or bad. All we need to do is REPENT and continue living a life of repentment.

    Acts 2:38

  • God is infinitely merciful, but also infintely just. Sin against God requires justice, which God gives in an infinite measure to the unrepentent. His infinite mercy is always ready to be extended to the repentent. He continually invites us to Him. All these health and wealth preachers do not talk about sin because people don't want to hear about sin. It scares them. They do not want to hear the truth. Fear God, love God, and do what you will.

  • But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

    (Isaiah 64:6;) As it is written:  There is none righteous, no, not one;

    (Romans 3:10;)

There is no 'do-over' Christ came to die and save sinners. Rick Warren is confuse between The Gospel and Tv Shows The Home-Make-Over etc etc.

  • I was searching Rick Warren and this clip came up. Rick Warren is a good man that he's being a positive influence for the world. Unlike this radio host taking advantage from other people's fame. You're a joke and it's NOT important. God is Good, and we should have mercy on people.

  • Nobody's "taking afvantage of other people's fame". That's a lame, strawman at best. Rick Waren is not "good", he mixes works in with his so called "gospel" and he waters down the doctrine of sin and man's depravity. Didn't you hear the video or are you biased because of devotion to "america's pastor"? If the apostles preached Warren's garbage they would have never been martyred.

    "mulligans"...that's the joke!

  • WOW! although God will not forgive blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, I can get a mulligan. WOW I am SOOOO glad I can avoid the consequences of my sin

    BY GETTING A DO OVER!!!!

    Gal 1:8,9

If anyone, even the apostles themselves bring a DIFFERENt GoOD NEWS, let Him be ANATHEMA

  • A faith that teaches contrary to the bible leads to death! Jesus saves by grace through faith in Him alone. Not saved by the observance of the law.

  • Biggest fraud of recent times. Charlatan and Huckster of the highest magnitude. Like all Christians.......

  • I go to Saddleback. I am a born again Christian who committed my life to Jesus at Saddleback. I became aware of God's existance, my pride and separation from God and my need for repentance at Saddleback. Christians need to focus on the great Commandment and the Great Commission and stop wasting time telling other Christians they're going to hell because they don't say "repent" enough.

  • I belive that you are sincere in your belief, and that Warren is a really nice guy, however he is teaching false doctorine, there is just no other way to say it, he is wrong. Not only does he teach false doctorine, but he is joining his efforts with other heretics and unbelievers.

  • God doesn't give second chances.

Say a man is fifty years old, destroyed his family through drinking and adultery, etc., he can't undo his past, but if he comes to Christ he will forgive and help him reap his bad crop.

We reap what we sow but thank God there is forgiveness with God.

  • I guess even hitler is in heaven then if he can kill millions of people and jus apologize to god. Im pretty sure this is the Iceland and Greenland thing, all the bad people go to heaven thinking its for eternal paradise when in reality all the logical people who are smart go to hell which is actually an eternal paradise. Oh the irony. Btw, I threw away a bible yesterday when I was cleaning. Trash belongs in the garbage.

  • @FinaIAeon In fact we are no better than Hitler because we think that we didnt do what he did. God compares us with Him and guess what, we all fell short..... We all sinnned. But we mght say "thats not fair". But the all fair God knowing this, sent His only begotten son to die for our sins so that we get eternal life not because of what we did, but of what He did. Now we dont strive to live holy becuase we can work our way to heaven, but because of our thankfulness of what he did for us.

  • the use of the word 'attacking' denotes that it is malicious. Teachers need to be assessed by the body (that is the disciplined accountable unity Ephesians talks of). I am a teacher in Christ and, if a am wrong on a point, i would like nothing more than to be corrected on it so i can repent or, if necessary, rebut.

  • It's true that faith without works is dead, but justification is by faith alone. Rick Warren teaches justification by faith and deeds (works) even if he throws in the obligatory "faith alone" remark every once in a while.

Also, he's a liar. He said on Larry King that he never endorsed Prop 8 just before video evidence came out proving the latter.

The Mormons also say that God used Joseph Smith to do some amazing things through his book. I'm not convinced by them, either.

  • @LaneCh "The Mormons also say that God used Joseph Smith to do some amazing things through his book. I'm not convinced by them, either." The difference here is that There is no "sect" created by Rick Warren... he has written a book, which I have read, and you can't really read his book without your Bible in your other hand. I'm not saying that he's a perfect man, but no one is perfect. I keep seeing Paul quoted more than Jesus in these types of videos, etc. Are we to follow Paul, or Jesus?

  • I agree that we are called to unity in accordance with sound doctrine. What I don't hold is that Rick Warren is part of Christ's church. I believe he needs to repent of his sins like loving the praise of man more than the praise of the Lord and come to true belief in Jesus Christ, preaching and believing the true Gospel of faith alone without works, etc.

  • I god a litle mad, then, I don't know, it may be the tone of voice, how ever, he is telling the truth. This guy is doing the wright thing, because it doesn't matter how respectfull you are, if you start deluting the gospel, or changing the meaning, it is wrong. Some times, in the name of growth, or church expancion, some people prefere to call a siner, something other than that, and say, look it's not so bad, that is wrong. An yes God is also Love, but equaly just.

  • You cannot imagine how angry the apostles got at false teachers leading people astray.....

I am sure Paul screamed at the top of his lungs with holy anger more than once...

  • Religion is not a business. Religion is the belief in God. Read the dictionary before you speak.

  • Where is the love in this broadcast? Didn't Jesus preach us to love?

  • sometimes standing up for the truth is demonstrating love. A lie is a most unloving thing and a person, in love, should stand against such things.

    God bless. :)

  • you didn't read what Jesus said to the Pharisees have you? he repeatedly called them things like "you brood of vipers." Jesus did tell us to love each other, but he never told us to accept evil.

  • You have to be a christian to follow along with this. There is no room given in the speech of this DJ that would include a non-christian except that which calls the non-christian to repent. This is sickening at best and should not be given weight by those who wish 2 remain separate from christianity. But then I have this notion: why would anyone want 2 commit 2 a religion where its radio stations like this & other that constantly have 2 affirm their faith? Without this religion, we move on..

  • Religion is a business. You have to give the customer what they want. Traditional preaching is hell fire and brimstone. Rick gives you a fuzzy and warm feeling. Rick is a pretty good businessman; he gives the customer what they want. It is evident that Rick does not preach the Bible, but he is successful. Now the question is do you prefer Ricks fuzzy and warm religion or do you prefer the Bibles hell fire and brimstone? Caveat emptor.

  • Religion is a business. Genuine Life in Christ and a body of Believers living according to Gods Word is not a business.

The great deception is that people think they have the ability to choose their own way to God, You don't. You are in Sin unless GOD himself provides the way you can not approach him. Can you approach the president of the USA whenever you want? Or do you have to be invited and approach in a special way with conditions. The GOD of the universe is no different. We come HIS way.

  • seems to me that it was simply believe on the lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. the apostle Paul.

    also wotm see luke 16:16

  • Rick warren needs to shut up. These men who call themselves preachers diminish God's glory by preaching non sense and man centered messages.

  • there is big scam going on in the Christianity business THE GREAT BABILON

  • We dont have a second chance- being born again is about a new creation- a regeneration- total transformation- nothing to do with rethinkning our mistakes. This is a watered gospel- holding a form of religion but denying its power- this is the quote describing Warren's ministry

  • These people believe they have millions of born again moments.

You only have one, and after that you will pay for EVERY SIN...

  • Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Why do you brush the grain of truth in Warren's message under the rug. Seems to me Warren meant second chances and mulligan's as forgiveness. He just wanted to speak ina tone that is inviting; so that when people ask Christ and the Holy Spirit into their lives they will give conviction no pastor or radio host could hope to fill a sinner with.

  • Because it twists Biblical truth- if you want people to come to Christ just tell them to repent of sin and turn away to Jesus- dont make it culturally relevant- Jesus is relevant in all of time- He does the saving- see Jesus first ministry words and John the Baptist

  • Your criticism is a twist of words on Rick Warren's message. Perhaps you are battling something, why bother looking at the speck in your brothers eye while you have a plank in yours?

  • Ooooo, yeah. Great rebuttal. I wish I would have never put that video up now after your insightful comment.

    (sarcasm)

  • The message sonny...the message.

  • @LaneCh How about telling Scottloyd about Luke 12:51, “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.”

  • Just curious, when did this first air on WOTM Radio?

  • Great documentation LaneCh, thanks for the time and efforts you put into these matters.

    God bless

  • Jesus doesnt give do-overs.He forgives SIN...why does warren have so much trouble with that word.Mabe hes afraid of making sinners squirm in their lukewarm pew.

  • Did I hear that correctly "christ was born at Christ-mass". UH,unbelievable what a heretic.Nowhere are we told to celebrate Christs B-day on dec 25,especially with pagan trees Gal 10.If anything his B-day should be celebrated everyday.

  • This radio host should read what Jesus said on this subject: requirement for getting into heaven..." I was hungry and you gave me meat, thirsty and you gave me drink,a stranger and you took me in,naked and you clothed me,sick and in prison and you visited me..." Lets stop arguing doctrine and focus and being "Christ" to the "least of these"

  • Do you know what the word "doctrine" means? It simply means "teaching". What's ironic about your comment is that you spent the majority of it presenting doctrine (or teaching) then said, "Let's stop arguing doctrine..." I'm sure the majority of us who read these comments would agree that we're failing to see your consistency.

  • You are right about the meaning of doctrine, although I would go beyond the first meaning in the dictionary to get the full meaning any word. My point is that the radio host and many of the people responding seem more interested in being right than in following the "teachings* of Jesus himself. Whatever you believe...don't beat other believers over the head with it..just live it. I don't think anyone is brought into the kingdom by believers arguing amongst themselves.

  • "My point is that the radio host and many of the people responding seem more interested in being right than in following the "teachings* of Jesus himself."

That's a false dichotomy. Are you implying that the teachings of Jesus are wrong? That's the only way your argument would make sense. If so, I disagree. If you would have said that "the radio host and many of the people responding seem more interested in appearing to be right even though they're wrong..." then we could have discussed.

  • Shalom everyone! Where are there Christmas sermons in Scripture? First problem, blaspheming the Messiah of Israel by tying Him to a pagan festival connected to sun worship. No true repentance, including turning from paganism to Yahweh, the God of Israel.

  • I don't see any benefit in criticizing the way others minister. Christians are told that to correct sin and heresy, NOT ministry methods. The only people that God places in charge of ministry methods are the leaders of that ministry, if some old lady wants to bake cookies for Jesus, are you going to criticize her because it's not found in the Bible? Sin and heresy.. Warren is preaching the Gospel, in his own words, nothing more, every pastor does, it's not the method, but the message.

  • Did you know that Todd is involved in ministry?

  • I think its crazy how you've spun the message. Do we need hundreds and hundreds or "mulligans?" Yes. But he is talking more generally as in LIFE. You get a do-over with your life and to who and what you devote it to. There is no false Gospel here unless you make it one. It bothers me that we are all "brothers in Christ," but we still have people that want to take each other down from within the own church...

  • Do you consider the Gospel presented in the Bible to be true?

  • Yes its true, but it also needs to be interpreted correctly. Take the synoptics for example, you have to take all of them in account. But i think i know where you're going with that question and lets save each other from diving into a pointless argument. I just dont think you need to blow this up as "blasphemy."

  • Well, you're the one who came to this video to make the assertion that "there is no false gospel here." I didn't invite you to.

So let's carry this out: Do you believe the law of non-contradiction is a law?

  • Yes. The more I think about this, the more I feel that instead of portraying this false gospel thing you should be more angry at the watered down gospel that Warren presents. Do you really believe that all he thinks about being reborn in Christ is just a "do-over?"

  • It's another Gospel. There's one the Bible presents and there's one that Warren presents which means there are two. I know of a great critique of this I will link to for you if you like.

  • Sure, I would.

  • Here are links to two articles I recently linked to:

    tinyurl(.)com/3492mv

    tinyurl(.)com/39xu5o

  • I agree with most of that article. But i still hold to my statement that it's a watered down message and we cant look too far into it. It was on cable and I understand that it was a misuse of valuable airtime for the church. I believe God does give us a second chance at life when we accept Christ as our savior and I also agree that we are going to need hundreds and thousands of "chances" after that, but it's a one hour message and is Warren supposed to go into extreme depth on the subject?

  • If the truth is that someone owed you $800, but only payed you $400, would they be giving you the right amount or the wrong amount?

  • Look Lane, I read the comments from your blog post and you and I are just going to go through the same argument you and Joe C. did. We are just going to disagree here. I do think what Warren said was "watered down", but nothing more.

  • So you're avoiding the question.

    Interesting...

  • It's true that we disagree, but I have a valid premise for my conclusion. Yours is basically, "Well, that just isn't what I feel." I'll stick to the facts in determining the validity of what's true and disregard subjective opinion as my basis; just as I did with Joe C. since it's obvious that you do not wish to answer a direct question and have your claim actually be examined.

  • That isn't what I said... and now your misrepresenting I have said too... So take it as avoiding the question, or whatever you want. Either way, Rick Warren is gonna do his thing.

  • See, this isn't a subjective thing, though; no matter how you would like to misrepresent the reality of it. I asked you an objective question which you have yet to objectively answer. Any rational person will read these comments and see you avoiding answering a direct question as being objectively true. I don't have to paint a picture of this; you've already done so. You can either answer the question or be blocked; not difficult to understand, but kind of difficult to misrepresent.

  • I am with you Todd!!! Jesus is the only way and we were dead in our sins until we came to a saving knowledge in Jesus.

  • yea its a problem when you think Jesus is a "do over" or that your sin & going your own way is a mere "mistake".

It implies the consequences for your "mistakes" are not serious. If this was true then why are there so many serious warnings in the bible? Ummm...

BTW Jesus said those that love Him obey His commands.

Its so simple, you listen & obey Him.
