Hi Gary, great tutorial, thanks for sharing! I have a question for you about framerate, do you set everything to a global framerate? (i.e. 25fps, or 30). I have a variety of NTSC and PAL sources. Blehhh!!!
I recently started using modul8 2.6, however i have some troubles syncing the speed of the clips with my midi clock input. All videos i use are produced in 120 bpm, so when the midi clock speed changes (lets say to 126 bpm) I want modul8 to speed the video at same time with ableton live.
Do you know how i could do that?
The BPM Router (Master) module let me take control of the master speed but I can't sync the CLIP SPEED with the midi clock input bpm...
Hey, great tutorials. Needing a little help though. I've made a 4 second mask and the file size comes out really large and modul8 struggles with it. What's the best way to reduce this without losing too much quality? In the render settings or in the output module format options?
1. When producing the alpha layers in photoshop do you delete the rgb layers? I'm a ;ittle confused.
Aldo when making the seemless loops, how do you work out the original BPM I'm presuming the loop you use has some music so you get the bpm from that but what if it's a silent clip?
Cheers and thanks for the tutorials finding them very useful.
1 the RGB layers contain the image information. the alpha layer contains the transparency information. so noo need to delete the image info. you can turn this on or off in after effects if you need to.
2 I use the beat counter on my V4 to work out the BPM or you can count how many beats per minute..!! or just count 20 secs and x 3 as for silent clips?? no idea.
alpha channels are hidden in computer movies and control transparency. if you add an alpha channel you can change the shape of your movvies from rectangular to any shape you like.
Awesome! But I still have no idea what you're talking about haha! I don't even know what program you're using to edit these images nor where I can get it. But thanks for responding.

@deepvisual yeah somebody replied there this is the solution: The length of your clip is essential rather than BPM
- Set the speed of the layer to zero
- Turn on the BPM (global) module to check incoming bpm
- Turn on the BPM (layer) module and select "Pick" choose one of the two layer movie shuttles (one of the two knobs below the layer speed).
- In the BPM (layer) module, choose "in" and then "play" adjust with the quantize buttons (4/1, 2/1, 1/1, 1/4, 1/8)
-> works perfect for me!

uh...
ok I'll do a simpler one next time
deepvisual 4 years ago
actually, I'll do it here.

after effects and final cut pro, but the basic ideas are the same whichever app you use.

Is it difficult and time consuming?
