@guitartur This game wasn't released in the USA or Japan and only released specifically for Europe which means that this is the correct speed for this game PAL 50Hz and wasn't optimzed to play correctly for NTSC.
What i'm trying to say is that I have the cartrigde of this game, officially released on Brazil by Tec Toy company, and it runs faster than showed on this video.
@guitartur All I can say for sure is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my version of the game. This is how it's always played on my Master System since I was a kid, it's perfectly normal. I can't speak for Brazil or Tec Toy because I don't live there.
@guitartur It's not necessarily that mine's too slow, it could be that yours is too fast.
This game was only produced for Europe and the PAL regions, I find it weird how Brazil uses the PAL-M signal but with the NTSC 60Hz speed. Tec Toy might not have optimized this game properly for the Brazilian market which could be why yours is too fast but I can't say for sure.
@du0lol I'm not saying thats untrue about the flickering on TV in PAL 50hz but I personally have never experienced that. The borders on top and bottom have also never bothered me.
@danylopez123 Because I live in Australia and here in Australia we have PAL 50hz as our video game screen format which I like alot more than NTSC 60hz.
Not everybody likes NTSC 60hz you know.
I don't think this game even came out in America as they stopped producing Master System games in 1991 in that region. All the good Master System games were made after America stopped supporting the Master System. What a shame they missed out on such great titles like this one.
1:46 If you're quick enough, you can also catch Jerry at this point.
4:00 It's also possible to swim under the logs and catch Jerry in the wall area with the darker rocks. =P
6:24 Just keep running, it's really easy to catch him at the dead end wall.
Always thought it was a bit of a bummer the shortcut to catch Jerry in this level was so quick, I always liked the music of this stage so much, I often just took the long road on purpose. =P
@HHog I'm well aware of the many spots and chances to catch Jerry but I purposely waited until the end of each stage to catch him so I could show everyone the full length of the stages.
It makes the game last longer to wait until the end of each area to catch him.
Haha, I had it on my Master System, I had forgotten just how awesome this game is, look at the way Jerry beckons with his finger to provoke Tom, hahaha.
@retrogamer96 Sega's Master System and Megadrive support had a very long overlap time. Heck, they still made some SMS/GG games after Sonic 3 had come out.
@HHog That's right! In Australia, U.K. and Europe SEGA made Master System games right up until late 1994, only America and Canada bombed with releasing Master System games, those regions gave up after Sonic 1 in 1991. Game Gear lasted even longer 1996 to be exact while Brazil kept releasing and producing Master System games until 2000 I think?
@Adam060756 Think so yeah, Brazil gave Sega's older systems the longest shelf life by far, mostly thanks to the continued release of games by Tectoy, if I'm not mistaken.

I found out why i thought it was slow. It's because the NTSC version is a little faster than PAL...

@guitartur This game wasn't released in the USA or Japan and only released specifically for Europe which means that this is the correct speed for this game PAL 50Hz and wasn't optimzed to play correctly for NTSC.
Running this in NTSC 60Hz is wrong.
Adam060756 8 months ago
@Adam060756
but it was released on Brasil, so it was officially released in NTSC also...
guitartur 8 months ago
@guitartur Brazil is a PAL region, not NTSC.
I think Brazil had 50Hz to begin with and now has 60Hz like Europe.
Depends whether this game was optimized for 60Hz or not. If it wasn't then 60Hz whether it's PAL or NTSC is not the right way to play this game.

thefidlerontheroof 1 year ago
@thefidlerontheroof Yes i'm playing as Tom.
The object of the game is to catch Jerry.
Adam060756 1 year ago
my bro and i are confused-- who are you playing, dude?
thefidlerontheroof 1 year ago
This game looks extremely classic, such as fading in tiny intro screens to stages, and really colorful graphics. It's even got some catchy music.
The controls look very clunky.

The flickering happens on the TV. A capture card such as easycap would certainly neutralize it.

@du0lol There is no flickering.

@Adam060756 Yeah, of course not. It's playing on an emulator. Try it on a real TV and enjoy the earthquake.
