  • Ok one thing! PERFECT 2 POINT:):):):):):)

  • ...I love how your lower leg doesn't move back and inch. Good stuff!

  • im starting jumping soon. any tips? (aready kno the 2 point.)

  • You have very nice following hands

  • YOU HAVE AMAZING EQUITATION..... SERRRRRIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Your awesome:)

  • You have a really really really good flow and release!!!! Good job!!

  • very nice and you have a VERY good leg

  • Comment removed

  • that was really nice welldone :') xxxx

  • 3' 4" technically is a height, it's just extremely uncommon in the jumping world. Heights are typically in 3" increments (3', 3' 3", 3' 6", etc.); however, other heights are not unheard of.

  • Your position is lushhh ♥

  • nice position

  • @margoatl.. 3'4 is a height you dumb ass. usually it goes 3'3 and then 3'6 but that dosent mean that the numbers in between arnt heights, caz they are.

  • 3'4 isnt a height.....

  • @margoatl you should probably try to ride before you go one saying stuff like a bush isnt a plant.

  • @margoatl lets see you jump, then, huh?

    retard.

  • @margoatl yes it is, i jumped 3.2 yesterday so in=f i out the cup up 2 holes it would be 3.4

  • awesome leg *_*

  • LOL ur trainer reminds me of mine! especially when im doing grids like that :D

  • U should've entered the first one in canter, and had more power from behind. Then It would have been successful :D The last jump was pretty nice though ;)

  • @TinieMx

If you'll see there were actually trot poles before that first jump.

  • @Vakarianify Oh, yeah, right, I discovered that now :D Didn't notice them because of the quality on the movie ^^ But good job though :))

  • wow those first two are close, i thought he would have jumped them both together! lol.

  • i tried to do a similar thing as the first jumps on my horse and he jumped it as one jump - almost fell off!!!

  • The first jump;

Too close together, and not enough power from behind .

  • Love it!

  • cool thats the higgest i have ever jumped

  • First jumps were iffy, yet you managed to help steady him very well in the last few. Your leg is gorgeously still as well :)

  • that waz good:)

  • lol at first i thought the first one was a giant oxer so i was like why is she taking it so slowly?

  • last jumps are good! ur horse has really tallent!

  • i think that you have like good talent but it needs some work. i agree, your leg was like a rock! it didn't move at all :D i think that you need to just collect yourself more before the jumps and release a little more

  • you have such a good position! youre legs didnt move an inch

  • Very cute horse.. but it looks like Dakota your horse wouldve nocked a pole if it was one inch higher. He needs more momentem

  • your approach to the first jump was a little brutal but you rode it out well! good job!

  • RELEASE!

  • loving ur leg!

  • you have such a good seat and position, you guys looked awesome =]

  • Canter would have been good first ;)

    haha good job! Nice horse!

  • Good Job :D

  • AMAZING position! Your legs were glued! And cute horse :)

  • little jumps ^_^

  • I would fall off lol

  • hahah thats soo cutee! :) i love how your like... still landing the last jump... you give your horse a pat on the neck and say "Good boy" :) ahaha ... absolutley love it! it really shows that your one of those riders who love horses & Riding.. and NOT just the riding. :)

  • You might wanna have a better approach next time but very cute horse and you did make it work! Good job:]

  • you have a fantastic position!

  • that was really really good! but when you were coming to the first pole, a squeeze with your legs would keep him straight over it. otherwise, you have a beautiful horse and the best jumping position i have ever seen! :)

  • WOW, fabulous.

  • how high is that in centimetres?

  • 129 cm

  • Comment removed

  • 105

  • That was very nicely done, shame about knocking that first pole, but well done :)

  • some people let there leg slide back while goen over a jump

ur leg stays perfectly still !!! good job! :)

the horse seams very nice and calm also

  • funn. really good

  • MAKE HIM WORK! MAKE HIM WORK! MAKE HIM WORK!!

goshh that reminds me so much of my old trainerr!

  • pause @ 15, awesum!

  • There is no such thing as 3'4" the holes are set 3" apart! DUH!

  • Uhum actually poles often add an inch of height to the jump. So it's 1 inch above the hole it's on most of the time. :) And for all you know, they're different kids of standards.

  • @Elusive210 Exactly, thank you, I have been trying to explain that to people for a long time!

  • IKNOWHOW2RISEUDONT - clearly you dont, because you cant even figure out a simple jump height... it is measured like that thicko, i have jumped 3"2ft which is 3 foot 2 inches... DUHHH, get your head straight

  • @Agilitypoodle385 LMFAO. 3'2

    ' = feet

"= inches. you dont need to write the " though its implied.

get it right before you go bashing people.

  • yeah typically they're set 3" apart it's measured like 3 ft. 3'3 3'6 3'9 4'0 i probably would've labeled this video 3'3 because that's like the international measure

  • not necessarily =\ i mean, yeah, usually they are.. but maybe she was taking into account the diameter of the pole and she went back to measure it to get an accurate height? you dont need to be so rude

  • or maybe she felt like naming it 3'4 .and BTW the pole adds on another inch.

  • @IKNOWHOW2RIDEUDONT Not always it depends on how the carpenter measures them. He could measure them 5 inches apart is he chose to.

  • pause at 0:13 area, its awesome. Nicely done!

  • Arrr your horse is fab. my horse jumps really good and high but when there are about 4 or 5 in a line he jumps the first one then knocks the others. i think its because he is suck a big horse. but yours is good XD

  • great recovory!!

    your horse is great!!

if my horse knocks down a rail, he gets really mad and charges all the other jumpps.

    once again, great job!

  • hahha wow good job! you sould come see me do 43 oxer on my horse! lol

  • that fun to do

  • good job! i thought the first two jumps were an oxer too lol beautiful horse! and nice job clearing the other jumps! XD

  • wow great legs!!!

  • great job getting her to go after she knocked the 1st jump. :]

    nice EQ. :D

    and yoyur horse is stunning!.x

  • i thought the first 2 fenses were an oxer.lol!whoops

  • haha meee too :P

  • haha for a second I thought it was the 3'4 Just amde to an Oxer XD

  • meee to. lol

  • great job! your horse is gorgeous!

  • that was good.... the first two jumps were scary close... my horse wouldnt have made it :p

  • ya! those could have been like an oxer instead of 2 jumps!

  • Wow! That was really good for trotting! I tried it once like that at a trot and my horse stumbled and I went flying off =P I like much better cantering in, but really nice save the rest of the grid looked great!

  • Fabulous leg! I have the WORST time keeping my leg steady over fences! I'll have to study this video and find the magic formula lol!

  • You had the first part down because you werent straight coming into it

  • woooow. i HATE trot jumps, and that is like the mother of trot jumps. and the fact that it was a trot bounce makes it all the more difficult. you did great though!!! i think that last fence was probably 3'3''. most standards have holes set at 3 inch increments so 3'4'' is not a real height.

  • Your horse seems to jump better when she's going at a faster pace, so try it at the canter :)

  • Beautiful horse, I like your trainer. :)

  • good job girly

  • solid leg! awesome!!

  • i use a grid to get my horse listening to me and to get her to consecrate. when i go into the grid i use a steady but bouncy canter. but it depends on what you and your horse feel comfortable with. my mare is temperamental so if i try to make her trot into a jump she would rush and muck it up. so as long as the canter (or trot) is controlled but has energy u should clear the grid perfectly!

  • try slowing down your trot to the first pole it will give you more control to get him straight and make him use his back end.

megnaay.....you havent ridden into many gymnastics then

  • get your heels downm more. also when you two-point over the jump, almost stand up. you wont be standing up but it will make a better two point, and you wont fall back as much. grab mane when you go over the jump and don't let go until 1 stride after the jump, because grabbing the mane will prevent falling back into the saddle. :)

  • you definitely need to canter into a grid if your horse will be jumping that big by the end. i know you said you set up trot poles, so next time put canter poles... he needs more impulsion to make the first couple jumps smoother. really nice though, he obviously has scope.

  • she doesn't have to canter to have more impulsion, and traditionally you are supposed to trot into a grid.

  • actually, when it is a bounce that starts off the grid you are supposed to canter in. and especially when the jumps get to that height, it isn't fair to ask the horse to trot in and then have to jump 3'+ in the same line, as there is no real chance for the horse to prepare momentum-wise.

  • actually not. the whole point of a grid is to start low and increase, to build up in height and momentum. the majority of grids start with a bounce, and you're still supposed to trot in. i've done a ton of gridwork, and a ton of research on it. but have your own opinion, i don't care.

  • we both have our own opinions. i just know if i was the horse i'd rather not be basically trotted into a 3'4 fence. personally, i think there is more of a chance the horse will catch the pole if you trot in, therefore messing up the set-up for the rest of the grid.. like you can see in this video. we have our own opinions though.

  • it's nothing like being trotted into a 3'4'' fence, there's three fences before the 3'4'' fence. and it all depends on the horse. i used to ride under a trainer who had a warmblood that she trotted to a 4'0'' vertical in warm up, and he was 100% happy to do so.

  • The point of a grid is to gain momentum and forwardness throught the grid, building up to the last fence which is the highest. It depends on what your doing the grid for.. and in this case it was jumping 'up' the horse. If you were doing a grid to improve the rider's position you would canter in, yes.

  • we all have different opinions, i'm sticking to mine. :)

  • actually you are expose to trot into the grid any time expecillay when it starts at a bounce then you sak for the canter it dosen't matter the hieght horses can jump over 3 feet at a walk!!!!

  • i'm not going to argue with any of you anymore... there's no point and it's just taking up room in her comments. just because a horse CAN do something doesn't mean it SHOULD be made to do it. i'm still sticking to my opinion, and you can have yours.

  • impressive!great job staying with your horse! You two are going to move up really quick!

  • that was beautiful!

you go very nicely with your horse :)

all i can really say is that if you feel your horse being pulled in the mouth, release a little more.

    but it looked awesome!

  • very good but before the first jump shouldve pushed the horse into canter first.

  • You are supposed to trot into the grid. There were 4 trot poles set up before the first fence

  • @babe123245

u should come in trot into some grids.

  • What beautiful leg work!!!! You are doing really well for your first time jumping 3'4! keep up the good work

  • you have an amazing leg position!

  • Why did she say half halt, then kick? The horse needed to be pushed forward over the first jump, not after he knocked it over.

  • The half halt collects, balances and helps to straighten up the horse. Although the horse needed to be more forward into the jump, they made a sharp turn into the jump, this helps with that. Although it wasnt essential here, it is a good habbit to get into to make sure your horse is ready for the jump, not too forward and flat coming into it which will cause it to knock a rail. so it makes sence that she said that =]

  • OMG!!! i'm sooo sorry about that message! I was on with my freind and she was typing while i was talking cuz i cut my finger. Obviously, she wasn't in a very optamistic mood yesterday! really sorry!! it wasn't me sounding like a total jerk!

  • no such height as 3 4 - maybe 3 3 would be a better height if you want to sound like u know what ur talking about. in case u don't know, the jump heights go up in 3's-3 3, 3 6 , 3 9, 4 0, 4 3 etc. the first jump was funky becasue u were soo crooked but the rest of the grid was quite nice

  • yes, you are right, it does go up 3" each time, but it was set up at 3'0" and the pole is 4" in diameter. The poles are old skinny telephone poles, so they are really thick across. And really, I dont know everything about horses, but you dont need to make me sound like an idiot, because Im not.

  • @jumpngdakota888 so it was really only 3ft?

  • @horseshowsaremylife actually there i such thing as 3'4''. When courses are measured in meters, they don't go in 3'' increments. and people are allowed to jump different heights at home than they put up in shows. it's not like it's against the law.

  • @showjumpinluv But just saying most jumps measured in feet go up in 3's or end in a 0 but you can say anything you like; but you wouldn't really say 3"11 or whatever you just say 4 foot obv. you get the just it just sounds better x

  • @Elliehedditch30 not really, cuz you aren't jumpoing 4', ud be jumping 3'11', so why say ur jumping 4'? i've seen plenty of show bills that have heights listed such as 3'4'', especially when they measure in meters then give the foot equivalent. you list the height ur jumping, u don't round to "make it sound better."

  • @showjumpinluv I didnt say I did i just say thats what mist people do:L but you do generally hear more 3's :D you can call it whever you want :D

  • Nice jumping, looked very nice.

Your instructor sounds like mine lol

  • oh geez! sounds like my trainer!

  • um its 3'3''...no such thing as 3 foot 4

  • yeah there is, 3 ft and 4 inches, lol

  • omg, my replies never go in the right spot, that was supposed to be a reply to 400boo

  • WAY cool!!!

    xoxo

    V

  • Very nice!

Just for future reference, there's no such thing as 3'4" lol.

Jump heights are in three inch incroments.

  • that's exactly what i was gunna say lol...only time it goes by the single inch is when you get up to large heights like 5 feet when an inch actually makes a difference lol cute horse :)

  • really nice job but next time canter to the jump because he looked un-interested and could've stopped at any time

  • she couldnt canter 2 the jump cuz there was a trot pole in front of it but she went around it... if she cantered Dakota would have jumped the first jump really long & would probably try 2 jump the bounce as an oxer considering that was a really short bounce

  • i have a horse named dakota too!!!!!! your dakota is a little less stubborn than mine though..lol.

  • i love your instructor/trainer lol

  • your horse is really beautiful and you ride very well. See, I have a horse name Dakota too, but knowing him he would just slam into them. lolz. Same name, totally different desires of what to do with jumps

  • ooo nice try the horse is pretty and good at jumping you areg ood at jumping to! nice job

  • ya need to keep your horses attention by keeping a leg to hand connection. if you dont he swirvs like he did and hits a rail. and arch ur back more (plus bring back ur shoulder) if u drop ur hand and round ur shoulder when ur horse chips for a weak jump he could stop and u could fall off.

    bad idea

  • awesome!

  • NICE!

  • OMG!! he has an awesome jump!!ANd really nice barn

  • you guys look great, just try to land in your thighs so you dont slam his backwhen you land and look like an eventer! i mean unless you are an eventer.. lol =)

  • haha yesss I am an eventer...100% haha

  • wow i wish i had ur leg..it IS really quiet..lol you really listened well when your trainer said "close your leg" haha. very cute horse.

  • WHOA WHOA WAA WEE! Your leg is abnormally quiet! What'd you do to accomplish that? Alot of 2-point and no stirrup work?

  • YESSS!! lol LOTS LOTS LOTS definitly took alotttt of work! lol

  • Well GOOD JOB! It definitely paid off! What breed of horse is he/she? Absolutely GORGEOUS! GREAT topline!

  • He is a THoroughbred. And thanks:) He is a good boy lol

  • your legs dont move at all!!!! great job!

  • good job ususaly when i nock down the first jump the rest of it is done for

    Nice recovery

  • Good Job! Your leg is SOLID!

  • kicck kiiiccckkkk kiiiiiiiiicccccccccckkkkkkkk!!! nice job tho lol

  • i think you should have gotten the canter so that he had more coming into it...then he probably wouldnt have knocked down the first one...but pretty good job either way cute horse :D

  • WOW :)

  • In the exersise I was riding, which was a grid, you are soposed to come in at a trot.

  • eek staightness.

  • dang, i'm so jealous that your leg never moves o/f lol

  • haha omg...that took alot of work!! haha

  • Very well done!! that sounds exactly like someting my trainer would say!!!...very neat!

  • haha i love how you can here someone say dont fall!! Its just like well thanx for the vote of confudence

  • that's not 3'4 more like 3 feet, and that was preety bad, you where rushing and that's y you knocked the rail

  • It IS actually 3'4" I am not going to argue with you because you were not there. And I know where my faults were, I came crooked to the jump thats why I knocked it. Who are you to judge on how bad the ride was? My horse just started jumping about 6 months before that. Hes not going to be perfect.

  • thaz brilliant i find thah hard to do! v un balencin hehe! keep up the good work! x

  • I think you were great, lovely horse.

  • good job getting him through there after the knocked rail.

bounce was to tight for him though give him a little more room and he'll get throuh clean.

    good team :]

  • great ride! the bounce looked a bit tightly spaced tho

  • hes lovely!!!mabie a lil more impulsion coming into the first fence bt other than that it was vry nice

  • you do realize when jumping, jumps are always in incraments of 3"... so you were either jumping 3'6" or 3'3"... just so you know

  • not always

  • if you dont mind me asking how old were you when you started jumping 3'4???

  • I was 14 when my mom taped this.

  • ok j/w thx was that your first time jumping that high??? i am very srry for askign that.

  • good job but i think that would be called a combination, not a grid, but anyway i think you and ur horse did very good!!

  • It is called a grid also.

  • I thought your release was fine, for this height anywase. The only thing I would say would be to have turned him right since he landed on the right lead, or if you had to turn left, do a simple or flying change just so he learns good habits, no big deal though. Good ride, He might just be an awesome eventer :)
