But there is a retelling of this game in a movie (Super Robot Wars Original Generation: The Animation) and its own anime (Super Robot Wars Original Generation: Divine Wars). The anime series is part one and the movie is part two.

I'm playing the SNES variant "Super Robot Wars EX" on an emulator! It's a damn tough game but very, very good! I found an english patch with the essential parts translated and I'm enjoying it! Only expect to invest hours of your time per stage from stage 6 on. But challenge is good! I hope the other Super Robot Wars games are just as hard (not insanely hard but "watch your every move" hard)!

@Dredhawk10 Yeah, basically due to the licensing of the mecha series in the non-OG SRW games, the chances of us seeing a non-OG game in the states is slim. . .

That's not to say we won't, though. It's just not likely, all things considered. Plus, OG1 and 2 didn't do well over here. Though...there's poor marketing to blame for that. Plus, they were released as the GBA was dying, so sales weren't the best. . .

Endless Frontier is a SPIN-OFF. THIS game is from the main series, altough it IS a little different in it that it only has Banpresto originals. Usually SRW games have a lot of giant mecha from various animes, like Mazinger, Getter Robo, Evangelion etc. (google is your friend).

any way to get any of those earlier super robot taisen games, i started with endless frontier so alot of this is in the dark for me, like kos-mos from xenosaga and phantom is from this i hear, id rather have things clarified as soon as possible either by playing the games or being told some pf the stories of the past thats now in endless frontier, rumor is exceed has super robot wars (or taisen wars) characters in it, kinda annoying not knowing much about anything.

It's actually part of the OG world, what with Alfimi, Axel, and Fighter Roar. It's actually said that this whole thing was the result of Lemon's Project EF.

ok soo in terms of srw they didnt start out with these originals they started out wit th other japanese robots from animes of that time. The frist game starring all OG charachters was made for the gba and this trailer is a remake of those games but the other ps2 srw games might have a ,ade up charachter in it along with robos from animes

There were always Banpresto Originals, they just didn't create a game with only Banpresto originals until the OGs on the GBA. Even with OGs, which included some new characters, and OGG, we still have a lot of Banpresto Originals leftover. It wasn't until the 4th Super Robot Wars that they started inserting Originals into the series.If I remember correctly, only 4 or 5 of the Classic originals made it into OGs. And holy crap it was hard deciphering your message.

Huckebein looks a lot like a Gundam, Gespenst, not as much. Grungust? Not at all. Obviously, Gundam has had a lot of influence on mecha in general but I think the OG designs are really distinct in their own right.

Just because I'm living in USA doesn't mean I have to be American, and although video games are a good motivation, some people fail to even pay attention to the real culture behind what makes them.
