We call this one "The Bad Touch" in our area, partly for the male tendency to snap bra straps during it in the late 90's, and partly because Lindy Hoppers in our area hate to do it, because it's considered extremely cheesy. But you know, to each their own, so long as it makes someone smile. I like a little "cheese" myself, once in awhile, and its an easy move to add to a beginner's vocabulary.
@JBSJOEL So, you would take canned, mechanical instruction from people whose only incentive is to suck you into taking more lessons, most of whom know little to NOTHING about Lindy Hop or vintage swing dances, much less swing music or swing movement?
AM historically took folk & street dances and stripped them of their ethnicity to make them palpable for white middle & upper class tastes. They are the Chipotles & McDonalds of the dance world. I'll take these folks over them any day of the week.
I second the last comment. This is a terrific little series that you have here. I'll most certainly be recommending these to anyone that wants to learn to Lindy. Thanks.
thanks for putting these clips up, their clear, simple and well taught, I always forget what I have learnt in class and these clips are a fantastic reminder and also addition to my basic knowledge of lindy hop
