My brother is a mechanic/ door gunner for this squadron he's in one of the birds. His job is the guy hanging out the back door with the belt fed 50 cal.
Sadly his bird went down 4/29/11 in Kanohe Bay, Hawaii during a night training exercise. Three were badly injured and my brother lost his life. Its great to see what he did. I remember him telling me about Afghanistan.
@skate7770 Im so sorry about your loss man. I work in K bay and know a couple guys from your brothers squadron. Its such a horrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I sometimes dislike these videos where he video tapes Helicopters, or riding in one. I'm afraid it's going to blow my speakers. Lol But Of course I still love them. Just the sound.
hm whats better? alot of smaller rounds or not so many big ones? alot of small ones would mean that you have a higher chance to hit something. and why use bigger rounds anyway? its not like the talibans drive around in armored vehicles or so lol
i dont know if cost should be an argument if you try to win a way. just do what is nessesary
rather buy one f-22 less and some more ammo lol this thing is useless in this kind of war anyway
not every heli needs ridiculous firepower....these are mostly transport choppers and dont really need that kind of shit...unless its special forces etc
a friend of mine returned from afghanistan, he said that a 3 hour firefight was quickly ended when a 30mm (like this one) was used. The enemy said that a SINGLE round hit someone in the upper shoulder area BEHIND COVER and complete ripped his upper torso apart. They were scared that the marines were using "star trek weaponry" so they surrendered. Although it may be old, it still does its job.
thats no 30mm lol you mean calibre .30 or maybe .50. a 30mm canon would have nothing left of the guy who was hit. the bradley intantry fighting vehicle uses a 30mm canon as maingun.

its most likely a 40mm grenade launcher...
dude 40mm grenades aint a big deal....
theire used on grenade launchers mounted on rifles just like the 203....
i mean... it doesnt take a tank to fire 40mm grenades...
