I was such a fan of this show and the movies. I remember a lot of the details of whose who and what not, but there was one item I think was relevant. After Connor was made an immortal his clan moved from Glen Finnan to Glen Fruen where Duncan grew up, is that true? I think it was because they thought Glen Finnan was cursed cause of what happened to Connor. In Endgame they executed his mother because they thought she was the source of the curse.

it´s great, but at the end i´m kinda missing the scene in the park where duncan talks to richie and offers him a place to stay and the job as a shop help - without this, it makes little sense why richie is suddenly living with mac+tessa in episode 2, doesn´t it?
regardless, this was the best episode, it's where the Lambert Passes the tourch to Paul. It was the best idea that the directors could have done... Blending the movie into the series... And I have watched them all on TV. Great Series....

I watched The Highlander last night for the first time than the Highlander 2. What the fuck happened. did I miss something in the books or is it explained in the highlander series.
The way to understand Endgame & Connor's character change is to see it as an alternate timeline. In 1992 before the series began the producers said that Duncan's story takes place in an alternate timeline or Parallel universe. This can apply to all film sequels.

I never understood why Christopher Lambert never made another appearance as Connor on the series...His appearance on this is classic...the only things that suck about his episode is that it isn't long enough and there are no "year and location texts" that describe the flashbacks and they were too short as well...
This is a great episode, and feels like such a satisfying follow-up to the first film, rather than the other sequels. Great acting, great performances, and I wish there was another series like this or another good movie like this. But, as said. There can be only one.

First time I've ever seen this first episode! Lambert is great in it and somehow they really do sell the relationship between Connor and Duncan.
Have to admit Adrian Paul was pretty damn good (was more a fan of the films at the time- even 2 & 3 are entertaining despite very silly stories)! Starting work on growing my tail back tommorrow too! And on watching some more from this series!

I remember seeing this in Blockbuster Video on VHS as a standalone movie. And since it differs slightly from what the tv series became, I always felt it should deserve recognition as part of the film series. I think the so-called fifth Highlander movie ("The Source") also supports this since it premiered on the SyFy channel and was never released theatrically.
@starkiller20293 You meant Highlander: the Farce right? God, was that awful. It was more of a sitcom than anything else and it sucks no matter what. Plus it made no sense. Highlander 2: the Quickening is a masterpiece compare to the Source, and that is not a statement one can make lightly.

Loved the movies (except The Source) and the Series. They had conflicting plots and storylines sometimes I easily overlooked it because of the superior acting. Christopher Lambert is great in any movie he's in especially swordplay ones like Highlander and Beywolf. Adrian Paul is awesome as well. Thanks for posting this!!!
@redmancheyenne Bob Anderson was the first sword-master on Highlander. He taught Errol Flynn to sword fight [Captain Blood} in the 1930's. Only the best in this series. That's what made it the greatest!!!

Hmm... how can Connor be the "one" when he basically sacrificed himself so that Duncan could go on? Not a chance. And the followup movies to the series were 'partially' meant as an extension of the series. @asseertedwolf I might be mistaking but the only thing I see as Duncan and Connor fighting each other to the death is the movie Highlander: Endgame. It's not that great a movie and Connor Macleod's character is literally butchered in it. Not because of Lambert but because of the writing. And Duncan fights one guy with a spear.
It's too bad there weren't more moments in the Highlander franchise of Duncan and Connor hanging out together. Next we got Highlander: Endgame, and man was that a disappointment.

Loved the movies (except The Source) and the Series. They had conflicting plots and storylines sometimes I easily overlooked it because of the superior acting. Christopher Lambert is great in any movie he's in especially swordplay ones like Highlander and Beywolf. Adrian Paul is awesome as well. Thanks for posting this!!!

@redmancheyenne Bob Anderson was the first sword-master on Highlander. He taught Errol Flynn to sword fight [Captain Blood} in the 1930's. Only the best in this series. That's what made it the greatest!!!

And the followup movies to the series were 'partially' meant as an extension of the series. True, the writing sucked, but there was no let-up to the talent of Adrian Paul throughout--and Christopher Lambert. *bows to the actors*

@asseertedwolf I might be mistaking but the only thing I see as Duncan and Connor fighting each other to the death is the movie Highlander: Endgame. It's not that great a movie and Connor Macleod's character is literally butchered in it. Not because of Lambert but because of the writing. And Duncan fights one guy with a spear.

The way I see how Connor MacLeod chronology should go (and if anyone cares to join me in thinking this you are welcome) : Highlander , Highlander - the Gathering ( season 1 ep 2 start's a new alternative Duncan line as far as im concerned) Highlander 3 ( Here we stop with Connors story. We dont' include Highlander- Endgame in Connor time line. But if you like you can have it in Duncan's) Believe me when you look at like this you feel a whole lot better about the Highlander continuity mess.

I really loved this one. Christopher Lambert's acting was some of the strongest that I've seen him perform. He was so easying going in this episode. I like hearing him sum up his relationship with Duncan,(see 34:09) "You've always had the good women, and you've always had the all fun." His performance was so sympathetic. Together both actors seemed as though they had a real history together.It was probally his best Highlander role since the first film. In my humble opinion.

@Antwon627 I actually think he's better here- in the movie he seemed really stilted and awkward sometimes (probably because it was his first major english-speaking role), but here he seemd a lot more natural. Of course, he might just have stunned by Adrian Paul's ponytail

One thing i don't get... a Scottish barbarian uses a katana? Wouldn't a claymore make more sense for him to be trained with...and yes I understand how unwieldy a claymore is compared to a katana.
