erm...how the f*ck can you say that the sony conference impressed you the most? there were no surprises from nintendo, FF13 from microsoft including a new dashboard and a deal with netflix and universal, and the obvious trailers. Sony showed a 1min trailer with no gameplay footage of GoW3, and asked for patience with home, killzone a GT5. as they will be out '09. how the hell did you expect FF13 goin to xbox? obviously a sony fanboy.

Dude it's a tech conference and you're expecting some sort of action filled adventure. It's basically a better version of a mii. Apple does this all the time and it's labeled as innovation. FFXIII is a huge crushing blow, not a bit a blow. The market in japan is nill in japan. Sony was better than nintendo but still got owned. Most of the games were pre-rendered crap. Its not like Konami couldn't make MGS4 360 on multiple DVD9's. The game is completely linear, so changing discs doesn't affect the gameplay at all unlike an openworld game like GTA or Saints Row.

You can sell me whatever you want. I can't even imagine how many disk it would have taken to play on the 360. Esp. since Kojima initally wanted more things on the the disc and had to remove some things. What is the feasible number of disc one would want to play a game with? A single blu-ray disc can hold up to 25 GB that's equivalent to 5 dvds. Now with the advent of the dual layer that's 50 gigs, so people are willing to use 10 disc. Screw that!

compression of the game would crapify the entire experience, which is why it blue ray was the only option. The mgs4 Limited Edition came with a dvd that explained why blue-ray is the only thing that can sustain all the data MGS4 has.

That's just Blu-Ray propaganda by Sony. Software can compress the hell out of things like textures (which in MGS4's case, they aren't exactly the most detailed at times) and sounds. Kojima didn't want to do this. The other thing that takes a lot of room is video, which can also be compressed. MGS4 on 360 could be done, but it would take a lot of discs to do so. And BTW, if Blu-Ray is so powerful, why do I have to wait for the game to load after every chapter?!
