  • Aside from Top Gear, this is the best thing the BBC has ever made.

  • Lol

  • Lol

  • MEMORIES!!!

  • This cartoon was called monkey dust!! Was such a funny adult cartoon. loved it!!

  • AWESOME! :DDD XDDDDDDDDDD

  • if someone could actually do this in real life.....

  • @HPlookalike94 loli would be upset

  • I freaking hated dial up internet. I can't believe that it was only 10 years or so that internet sucked so much. Imagine the internet in 10 years. Will there ever be a time where internet pages do not exist?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA in ame moment share on FB! hehehehe

  • XD XDXD

  • now this is why dial-up internet is so freakin' slow!

  • Haha wow thats my 8th grade teacher.

  • Haha wow that's

  • Who thinks of this? This is hilarious!

  • You do not realize how important it is to have that second lady doing that job.

  • i just have to like this , hahahaha :D:D

  • first wave of dubstep

  • 0:07 this part reminds me of the matrix

  • Lol

  • do they do broad band now?

  • Welcome! You've got mail! i almost forgot AOL as well as netzero's free dial up internet a decade ago

  • pretty usefull job

  • imac g3!!

  • LOL!

  • jajaja!

  • Is connecting customers to dial-up that couple's job?

  • Funny?

  • Welcome!

    You've got m-Goodbye!

  • Noooooooooooooooo!

  • Disturbing

  • A sí! Asi sonaba la conexión dial-up Internet. Jaja.

  • Now for some reason when I heard this sound for the first time on my really old computer, it reminded me of an old lady, now I know why.

  • omfg... i remember when i was a little kid dial-up was such a pain in the ass.

  • my sister used to tell me "don't download anything from over 2mb" :(, but i downloaded sega genesis end gameboy games so fuck it

  • @Hespdow you daredevil

  • @imhackedagain My neighborhood's phone lines were so bad that we could hear the crosstalk from our neighbors, even through our computer's modem while trying to dial into our ISP. Sometimes the crosstalk killed our connection. :(

Eventually the phone lines got fixed, but it didn't matter anymore because we ditched dial up for cable broadband long before then.

  • Ahh the days of the internet,

  • Grandma that's where you are!

  • @nicholas72611 lol!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when I had dial up...

My mom called and I was almost finished with a 1 hour download.

  • those good old times when you could get angry at ya granny when she called in the middle of you're "special biology" lessons :)

  • No wonder I heard talking in my 56k dialup modem speaker before.

  • HAHA!

  • that definently takes me back.

"could you get off the internet because I need to call someone."

"but dad, I'm in the middle of downloading something."

  • This short clip creeps the sh*t out of me... its like a bad nightmare or something

  • Ah the days when internet porn was strictly picture based.

  • OMG. I just had a flashback to my childhood.

  • Back in the early 1980s we used cassette tape as stirage media -- if you tried one of those data cassettes in a regular cassette player, it sounded pretty much like those modem noises. I wonder whether the software duplicators hired dozens of old ladies to record game cassettes back then... XD

  • @AssemblerGuy hahaha wow I've got to try that.

  • it use to take me all night to download movies with this speed. Now I download a gb in an hour.

  • when I was a kid, this sound seemed so spooky :D

  • @Tulanirebe They didn't if you had a second phone line. That didn't come cheap. I remember many a time where I was downloading this and that and all of a sudden my net went down because my mother needed to make a phone call.

  • @Tulanirebe

    What? o.O

  • @Tulanirebe

No, Dial up internet was just that, phone calls with coded sound.. xD

i.e. you could not talk while using the internet <_<

  • Um what?

  • I remember as a kid while waiting for things to load I'd get some food, play a game, play, read etc.

    Ah those were the days.

  • Monkey Dust was such an awesome show.

  • Fuck yeah Monkey Dust.

  • whats the name of that show?

  • jajajaja buenisimo!

  • 74 people got mail.

  • ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like that sound ^^

Because when it happens, it means my modem works fine :)

  • @mab12801 You have NO idea what a real dialup is

  • @mab12801 wow you never really had dial-up did you? Dial-up literally downloaded things at about 5 kb/sec and disconnected at the most retarded possible times, for example, you have a couple megs to download, your at 99% and it disconnects, and you have to start over, THAT is real dial-up 3g is really fucking fast compared to that

  • 12 hours to download iTunes with dial-up, annoying coz it was on my computer and I don't even like iTunes, it was for my bro

  • AHHAHAHAHAA

  • lol

  • WTF?!?!?

  • 知らなかった...

  • This would make an awesome dubsteptrack

  • @dumdumbatman Here you go: watch?v=M1px7rg3Itc

  • @donniii3 lol epic

  • lol takes me back to the days when napster was hot, dowloading at the mindboggling speed of 7 kb/s. feeling freed when IDSN came along and MSN to kill time while downloading songs that sometimes were fucked up XD

  • Dumpert!! neukertjes

  • DUMPERT!!!

  • what would we have in 5 years !

  • Dumpert!

  • Dumpert moederneukers!

  • This whole video is silly, as two people sitting there making that noise would be an utter waste of time. No sane company would pay for that.

One person and a taperecorder would suffice.

  • During the dial up tone era, I was only allowed to use the internet for an hour a day. It was expensive and -actually- quite boring. It's still boring now, though. Hmmm

  • LOL what is it from?

  • @naaaaaagz BBC Three show called Monkey Dust. Awesome show.

  • @Spawndex thanks bud

  • On 56k, I had a download speed of 5 KBps, and I remember trying to get those theoretical 7 KBps, which looked as a massive improvement :D I also remember that downloading 100MB took about 6 hours under perfect conditions...

  • Hahahahah!!!! Awesome!

  • isnt it that you couldnt turn off the sound because your computer decoded the sounds as codes or something?

  • "Get off the internet, I need to call someone"

"But I'm in the middle of downloading something!!"

    Those were the days...

  • @iamkenia What the hell are you talking about? That shit was terrible.

  • @iamkenia i was always in the middle of Evequesting too lol

  • @iamkenia when everything sucked

  • @iamkenia what was worse was sometimes an incoming call would disconnect your modem lol

  • I didn't know Defender had dinosaurs in it.

  • im the only one that disconnected the speaker on the dail up ? :D

  • I remember 1 time when my modem got like a speedburst and downloaded in a amazing speed of 14Kb/s i was ultra fast :D

  • back in the day it was FUCK YEA DOWNLOADING AT 8kb/s a minute.

  • @simsy1991

8kb/s a minute? wtf are you talking about. I guess you meant you we're downloading with kb per second? Sorry to inform you but you never had a modem. Enjoy your blurry ISDN memories because you are too young to remember modems. "1991" :D

  • @rmoughli lol he meant 56kb haha the young ones these days think they know shyt!!!

  • @rmoughli

Dude, in the 90s, untill maybe the year 2000/01, there were still dialup modems so don't be so arrogant by saying "the young ones" don't remember modems. Not everyone had cable internet as soon as it came out.

He/she might have been 8 or 9 when they were still around. Old enough to have memories ;)

  • @Crunch0r

You don't get the point. Because you probably didn't have dial up at any point either.

Anyways he said he had 8kb/s A MINUTE, which makes no fucking sense. So I assumed he meant 8kb/s ... that's isdn speed an no fucking modem. So please. use your brain before you respond to tough guys on the internet.

Btw I'm not your dude, bro

  • @rmoughli

    watch?v=aV8DEJ8ydJQ

It's still a 56k MODEM... Which were still available in the 90s... Which still was in his/her 8 - 9 years old period.

Which makes my point still stand.

p.s. OOOH You're such a tough guy on the internet.. I am crying in my chair :'(

p.p.s I'm not your bro, dude.

  • hahahaha

  • this is great but a little freaky hey???

  • lol umm WTF?

  • haha :D lol

  • I've seen an old Japanese hacker movie where a hacker for a job requested a 56Kb/s modem. And they went like: It's impossible, only military has those now. :D

  • @5printR IMPOSSIBRU!!!!

  • its dial-up dubstep

  • @Epso4Real2010 shut the fuck up

  • @TrollGang UR FUCKIN COOL "TrollGang"

  • @Epso4Real2010 u mad bro? suck my cunt you little pussy cock sucker.

  • 哈哈哈哈

  • Dial up is sooooo old lol

  • hahaha i like it ^_^

  • Whats with all the people saying you cant turn off the sound? We used to have dial up and it definitely came from the speakers, I know this because whenever you turned the volume all the way down on the speakers, the dial up sound would go away, then you could turn it back up and hear it again.

  • Hahahaha Kiien Se acuelDA de ete SonidiitO, Pss Mira De Dond Proveniia

  • i am waching dis on windows 95 via diluopp

  • Like this if you just watched this because it was on BBC

  • This is.... ingenious!

  • OMG

  • These people are as old as the internet, not lying.

But the internet is also old in the other way around ;P

  • Me a few years ago: Internet that's connected ALL THE TIME!? That's stupid.

  • @Ejak2021 a few? what

  • @hellopellos I live in the middle of nowhere. Had dial-up til the middle of 2000's because the cable company wouldn't run cables up here. And they pretty much have a monopoly in this area, so we were screwed.

  • @Ejak2021 what the fuck man

  • @Ejak2021 EVERYONE A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I SAID I HAD INTERNET THATS CONNECTED ALL THE TIME;

WHY WOULD YOU BE ON THE INTERNET ALL THE TIME

    HNNNNNNNNGGGGG

    YOU GOTTA DIALUP THIS SHIT

NOBODY WANTS TO BE ALL DAY ON THIS SHIT

  • @Ejak2021

me now; Internet inside your brain to the point you can acces all the information at any given time just by thinking about it... 2050 :)

  • @timen1986 I guess men won't be getting driver's licenses after 2050.

  • @Ejak2021 dude, AOL was a dial up service that stayed connected all the time. that was 2001 and up..

  • @commentmutant Look at the time he posted, look at yours.

  • When I had dial-up, I watched so much pornnnnn....

  • I may not use dial-up but i still use RS232 to communicate to PLC's.

  • That's just sooo creepy lol

  • i love that sound even recorded a whole cd with that sound repeating about 200 times to listen in my car

  • People PC Internet was cool, you could dial up to sign up for the service, but didn't even have to sign up for anything or pay anything at all. Just minimize it once it dials up for you to sign up and then you use the internet for free lol I used to do that on my Pentium 1 all the time a long ass time ago.

  • does anybody else noticed that a cable just multiplied?

  • GET OFF THE INTERNET FOR A MIN I NEED TO MAKE A PHONE CALL X(

    good times....

  • I used to tell my parents I was playing Direct Connection (Modem to Modem) and that when you do that it makes the same sound... but really... I was on the Internet :)

  • Its so disturbing xD

  • This was one annoying piece of shit. Those good times when you leaved computer running for a night to download 1 megabyte.

  • @SeverbWH

And then someone picks up the phone...

  • @SeverbWH Quite some hefty megs you've got thurr.

    l0l0l0l

  • @SeverbWH haha exactly, i use to leave my computer on overnight to download like 100mb file. now i still leave my computer on overnight but to download 100gb file. LOL

  • @SeverbWH Leaved.+1

  • @SeverbWH when my brother downloaded his first gameboy game, it was downloading with 6 kb/s. it took 2 hours to download a 1mb game, and when some1 was using the phone after half an hour, he neede to start the download all over again. now i'm downloading with 14,4 mb/s and a 1-2 mb game takes less than a sec...

  • @SeverbWH LOL not only did it take for ever to download but watching the pictures download into the web browser also

  • Man getting on the internet was annoying with this so damn loud my parents always were like what are you doing on their now?

  • grandpa has dialup -- finally got him on the internet a few years ago. he likes it. and with the netzero accelerator thing he has, youtube is not as impractical as you might think. netzero somehow reduces the picture quality so it loads pretty quickly, just not as clear.

  • @japierce15 - glad someone got their grandfather on it lol mine will never get on it lol ehhh ohhh what the hell is this thing a puter lol

  • @japierce15 oh yes netzero :\ i think it was like 20$ a month. lol im glad we no longer have dialup in my house. took 10 mins to load up runescape and that was back when the screen was all tiny. do they still have those damn annoying ads come up when ya try to connect?

  • @Omerack well, i had him on the free version of netzero for a while... you get 10 hours a month. i figured that would be enough for him. And it was until last year. He was running out of hours mid-month. The free version had an ad bar...which really wasn't that big of a deal. the accelerator version is 14.95 a month...really ridiculous i think. i don't know if it has ads or not...dont use it. so i'm trying to get him to bundle services. i told him its like getting internet for free...

  • i remember being limited on internet time cuz dialup used up our phone lines

  • ohh man I used to fuckin hate that sound...everyone in the damn house would know if you were going online. especially at night!

  • OMG did u make this? Is this from a cartoon? XD I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!

  • You couldn't hide looking at porn late at night with this shit.

  • @nintendoatarikiller Okay, so than why do I still use it? Oh i forgot, technology in Californialand has a active lifespan of a day before becoming obsolete. Not in Alabama, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia!

  • My new ringtone :D

  • WTF!!!

  • ROFL

  • ah money dust

    i remember you well

  • Oh my! This nostalgic dial-up tune made me reminisce the good old days when trying to go online and you have to keep your fingers crossed anticipating to hear this sound of delight! hahaha! Even if you feel elated of getting an internet access, the speed connection is at a turtle-pace which makes youtubing or skyping impractical . I'm thankful that the progress of technology has made DSL connection to be at a very reasonable cost and being a youtuber and a skyper had never been this much fun!

  • i used dialup until like 09..was all i could get : (

  • I just spit on my monitor XD... lolol

  • @turneroundng HEIL GRÄMMÄR NAZI!

  • @Iceshoot haha ty ty

  • It is from Monkey Dust. An excellent and relatively unknown series - might be nice for it to be credited as the source!

  • Is this Monkey dust?

  • HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    this made me LMAO

  • lol wtf?

  • looooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!! XD
