It doesn't matter what "natural" base you use, even alcohol produces the same greenhouse gases to create the same kinetic energy. When you add the farming end of it, it takes away farland that will raise the cost of food. btw- drug use is the #1 excuse for violent crimes in the court, system, legal or otherwise. Until this changes they cannot legalize drugs.

@achzdck Why on earth would GM shut down a program like that. A car with zero emissions? Why wouldn't people want that? And if you do your research on the story of the EV 1 then you would know. Also if you look at a battery now compared to the past they are dramatically different. High performance electric car batteries have been developed. I understand your concern but I am quite certain that it is a much more maintainable problem than those we are seeing out of gas cars.
