At the point in time of the vid it was a low 11 second-high 10 second car. It is DSM-Link equipped and was launched at roughly 20lbs with anti-lag engaged. The video is in no way altered. There is no sound due to the camera being old and a simple point and click digi. It had no microphone. The motor has since been rebuilt to be a much meaner monster.

3-yeah they were designed to take that much boost, and diesels are a whole different ballgame. look at the difference in compression ratios diesels have to have that much compression to even run and gasoline engines don't so its completely unnecessary to run that much boost in a gas engine
Anti lag is a function in which the ECU retards the timing so severly at the comubtion happens with the exhaust valves open. This causes the turbo to build large amounts of boost without the motor being under a load. Its makes it possible to launch a manual transmissin turbo car at a high boost instead of launching and waiting for boost to build. It is a counter measure to turbolag.
maybe i just had a lemon who knows but i get my work done on my new car at revolutions performance in colorado springs they say they perfer sti's over evos because the sti motor is a stronger motor for modifications and evos tend to leak oil on their dyno alot. the reality is that evos are a bad ass car right from the show room, they are just plain freakin awesome but ive had bad luck with my 97 gsx blowing up and then the problems with the evo. i have just been turned off by them.
and thats why (besides the new evo 10) they always break down and every pro ive seen review the 8 or 9 says it breaks down all the time and you always have to have maintainance work done. so your the dumb ass. the STOCK motor with its STOCK internals are all crap. id rather have a car with a good motor at the start.

Um, I was definitely the passenger for this little anti-lag launch, and it's not "sped up. This is a 60-1 on 19psi (not even in it's efficiency range) that would DESTROY the KDW tires that were mounted to the rims. This car has since lost that motor and gone to a full 2.3 Stroker setup with a BWS366. You puds need to learn something about an AWD DSM.
Oh, btw, this was easily a mid 11 second car, with FULL interior that would eat Vipers from a roll. No big deal. In reality, this is a typically well built DSM, nothing too special. Had tons of room for improvement before it blew up.

Except the 4G63, 2JZE, RB26DETT. Should I continue? These engines are all built to withstand high boost without upgrading the internals. Fuel injectors and pumps on the otherhand should be upgraded when using this kind of boost as they will run dangerously lean.

Crank walk is a maintenance nightmare that mitsubishi dropped the ball on with the 7 bolt 4G63. After owning 3 Eclipse turbo's, I know plenty about crankwalk. Crankwalk in the 4G63 is not due to high boost.

i saw a non turbo dsm run 5 times down the track pushing 30-35psi before dying. they slapped it on bigger fuel injectors and a 255 and away it went. all done on the spot too hahaha.
a stock 6bolt can hold 20-24psi with ease. add good arp head studs and head gasket and it can take it. mine was an all stock 6bolt with a 16g turbo was pulling 20psi with stock fuel system but with a MAF translator running extremely rich. thats with stock studs and gasket. but the head gasket got fried.
This is the STUPIDEST comment I've ever seen, I can promise you there is NO way you are/were pulling 20psi on a 16g w/the stock fuel system I'm 110% sure. You would either be getting MAJOR knock or fuel cut, I couldn't run 20psi on my 14b with my wally 190 if I wanted to. eh, DSMs are pretty cheap.... Plenty of GS-Ts are around here for 2-3k. GSXs are 2-4ish... occasionally you'll find a 6k one.
I got my Talon TSi FWD for 2600. Sold my N/T eclipse for 2350.

Wow most of you guys argue for no reason and sound like d bags. The curb weight is almost the same both fat at over 3000lbs. (1g's are slightly heaver). 2G's were 210hp from factory and 1G's were 195

yea its spead up you can tell if you maximize the screen look at the passagers hand go up and down really fast haha....but yea if it is a gsx you can make it that fast...

Um, I was definitely the passenger for this little anti-lag launch, and it's not "sped up. This is a 60-1 on 19psi (not even in it's efficiency range) that would DESTROY the KDW tires that were mounted to the rims. This car has since lost that motor and gone to a full 2.3 Stroker setup with a BWS366. You puds need to learn something about an AWD DSM.

Oh, btw, this was easily a mid 11 second car, with FULL interior that would eat Vipers from a roll. No big deal. In reality, this is a typically well built DSM, nothing too special. Had tons of room for improvement before it blew up.

Its AWD. I assure you if his camera had sound capabilities there would be sound. I didnt have my personal cam with me so i used Kris's. Its not sped up, he was launching on 19lbs with DSM Link's Anti-lag settings.

Except the 4G63, 2JZE, RB26DETT. Should I continue? These engines are all built to withstand high boost without upgrading the internals. Fuel injectors and pumps on the otherhand should be upgraded when using this kind of boost as they will run dangerously lean.

Crank walk is a maintenance nightmare that mitsubishi dropped the ball on with the 7 bolt 4G63. After owning 3 Eclipse turbo's, I know plenty about crankwalk. Crankwalk in the 4G63 is not due to high boost.

i saw a non turbo dsm run 5 times down the track pushing 30-35psi before dying. they slapped it on bigger fuel injectors and a 255 and away it went. all done on the spot too hahaha.

a stock 6bolt can hold 20-24psi with ease. add good arp head studs and head gasket and it can take it. mine was an all stock 6bolt with a 16g turbo was pulling 20psi with stock fuel system but with a MAF translator running extremely rich. thats with stock studs and gasket. but the head gasket got fried.

This is the STUPIDEST comment I've ever seen, I can promise you there is NO way you are/were pulling 20psi on a 16g w/the stock fuel system I'm 110% sure. You would either be getting MAJOR knock or fuel cut, I couldn't run 20psi on my 14b with my wally 190 if I wanted to. I say proof or I'm calling bullshit, and if you don't have proof wtf kind of DSM'er are you? A poser?
