  • that music is sooo relaxing

  • Just started learnnig Animation using Blender in my class! This is amazing and soo helpful! THANKS SO MUCH! !!!

  • how did you learn blender, self taught or a course?? just wondering how people learn these programs, thanks

  • @westone4u Self taught through books, forums and trail and error

  • hey I can also paint dragons =D=D=D

  • Wow, I'm loving the 2D art :D

  • @LittleMissHayden In your properties bar, there should be a little wrench icon, this is the modifier section. Now just add a modifier and click mirror. PM me if you still have trouble.

  • great tutorial, but I can't get the mirror modifier up? I have the newest Blender (2.5 I think) can you tell me how?

  • hello, Iam new using Blender, could you explain how to set up the image of the dragon?

    Thanks

  • @whizmar if you are brand new to blender please go to my blender basics tutorial.

  • How can I get the dragon drawing?

  • Please I don't know how to save and upon or edit a file. can you help me please?

  • @meegz0 the box tool is what im haven trouble with i use it and it wont select more than 1 vertice

  • @LeThalxBlood Press B in edit mode, right click and hold with your mouse and drag it over the area you want to select, then release it. Or press B button twice until you get a circle then just click and hold over the verticies you want to select.

If you have a higher version then blender 2.49 then the newer versions dosen't support these features any more then I don't know how I can help you.

  • @meegz0 im not new lol im new to modeling though

  • @LeThalxBlood ...?

So your not new to blender3D but you just..don't know how extrude works or how to select things in blender?

If you watch the previous video you would understand that extruding will only bring up lines or faces.

If you only select one verticie a line will be created and extruded up. if you select more the one with the B tool with verticies that are connected, press E-->region/edges and you will create a face

  • @meegz0 i am i can tell u that when i press extrude only a little line follows the mouse? how do i select the vertice i need to

  • @LeThalxBlood If your new to blender click o nthe link on the begining of the video to get you aquainted with the basics

  • @toxiclevideos i do and nothing happens

  • @LeThalxBlood You might not be in edit mode.

go into edit mode, select some verticies and then press E and move your mouse

  • i guess im not getting this extrude button right how do u extrude the box

  • @LeThalxBlood You press "E" on your keyboard

  • Thanks to these tutorials, I am finaly able to start part one of the 'Dragons of labentha' video game that I'm creating

  • Any advice on how to avoid those blend1.blend1.blend1.blend1 - files?

  • @Kabitu1 the only way to avoid it is to make sure you only save as once. Or don't crash and restore the back up. lol.

Other then that, they're basicly backup files which you'll have to remove.

  • Very good wath is the logiciel?? Thank

  • Im having trouble splitting the screen

  • When i try to right click on the top, it only says top bottom or no header

  • Yes

  • box tool?

  • Will it work if i use blender 2.49?

  • @XxsilverflowerxX that is what he used in this video dumb dumb!!

  • i dont really know how to put the dragon in blender im trying to find out how but i just cant... sorry if i am sounding stupid

  • Any time i press Alt, my background image disapears and i cant get it back at all, any idea why? :S And how can i move the screen up and down, cause when i zoom it it only zooms to the middle and i cant get a closer look at the top/bottom etc.

  • how do I split the screen becouse I seem to be having trouble with that so can you help me with the problem?

  • @MrTacoGuy123 I have about two tutorials telling how to do this. I'm assuming your using blender 2.5 I'm 2.46.

The beta version of blender is farr more confusing and missing half the buttons/or are renamed.

I'm not aware of how to split screen in blender 2.5

  • umm i am having trouble splitting the screen can you give me some of the details?

  • uh..to be honest i dont remember(since im on my other computer..hehe..)but i think i selected the vertices and deleting the faces and yeah poof thing

  • im having trouble using mirror, when ever i try it says "modifiers cannot be applied in editmode" little yes please..

  • @OkamiAmaterasu26229 I can't find out why the mirror modifier won't apply in edit mode. It should work in both modes. Can you give me a description of what you did before trying to mirro image it?

  • when i do merge at center i get two triangles on the tail instead of both sides meeting at one point

  • good video but after creating the basic dragon shape i realised i did it in top view so when i click front view i actually see the bottom of the dragon is there a way to change which face is the side face?

  • @MM51TheRealDeal go to object mode and rotate your dragon until its good

  • @Meegz0

    thanks

  • @Meegz0 would it work if i used a different dragon picture? or even if i drawn my own?

  • @realflow100 yes, the image is there for people who don't have artistic talent to have at blender. It will still work if you use your own dragon :D

  • your hotkey's were confusing me, i kept hitting R and getting rotate instead of resizing. Did blender change default hotkeys in a recent update or do you have custom hotkeys?

  • @nobatadared grahh, did I confuse it somewhere on here too?

R does stand for rotate :( S is for scaling(resize). I have the full correct list of them on my basics for beginners tutorials

I'm sorry again if I goobered up on that (checks the tutorial so she can fix it)

  • hello there.. again.... i have a quastion... again.... at school, i have to use Autodesk Maya... so my quastion is how i can open these .blend files in blender. well actualy my quastion is how i can save my file in something else than .BLEND.....

  • @instert94 Go to import, it should give yo ua list of things you can export it as :)

If you can't find a file that you can open in maya, look for a blender plug in that will allow you to export it as a maya compatible file!

  • Hello Meegz0 from venezuela ^^, first thx for your awesome job, i watched the 3 videos of Basic and thx to you i can move around blender :D, but ^^ i have a situation

i started to watch this video and i stock in the very beginning , when you make the box , then apply some extrude , when i reach the part to apply the LoopCut , i press K like you said, selected loopcut, press middle button to cut on the middle, so this it my problem when i cut, it doesnt cut all the mesh of the middle, why ?

  • @hgouveia hm, are you using pure squares or did you make some triangles? sometimes when theres triangles it'll make another triangular cut and not go around the mesh they way you wanted. Also, just making sure, are you mousing over the place where you want to make the cut?

  • okey!!!! thanks!!! I thought nobudie whould ever answer, but you have bin a great help!!!!

  • yes okey... I got that but I mean that I can't even selekt the vertices with the b tool thing..... so now i use the mouse button 2 (right mouse button) and hold shift to select more... or when I want to do it fast I press B twice (BB) to select in a circle around the cursor...

  • @instert94 well what ever works for ya :) BB is also a great way to select. You can also use your scroll on your mouse button to increase or decrease it's size!

  • Comment removed

  • @instert94 I make sure too awnser all questions that need awnsers. I can basic tutorials on my youtube page as well if you don't understand. But the hotkey b isn't for moving the vertices. It's for selecting spesific verticies/edges. After you use the B key to get all the edges/verticies you want moved, you need to use the G key to move them. G=grab. B=box select tool. :)

  • @instert94 *that I can awnser, forgive me, I'm tired XD

  • what kinda music is this?

  • Subscribed. Liked. commented.

you have a talent for blender :) i have sent you

a message in your inbox because it would be too

long for a comment. please take a look at it

  • at 3:59 what key do you use to move the edges?

  • @flotch93 grab is the G Key. R is the rotate. PLEASSE click the link at the beginning of the video if you've never used blender before. XD Everything will make alot more sense.

  • @neon012345 You need to click on the link at the beginning of the video, it leads to blender basics for beginners

  • @neon012345 You NEED to click on the link on the annotion at the beginning of the video. it will lead you to the blender basics for beginners and it'll teach you everything that's confusing to you now.

  • Damn it, no matter how often I will watch your tutorial, I never will be able to do such a great job.

  • I have a problem, when i do mirror the "mirror image" is not at the same position as yours. Do you know how to fix this?

  • @Celle1P Yup. It's pretty common until you notice the cause.

When you click on an object/mesh in object mode, you should see a small pink dot somewhere. Depending where that pink dot is detirmines the meshes "center" if it's far away from the actual place you want you're mesh to be centered, the mirror image will look like that. Go to object mode, click on the model you want to mirror, and move it until it's mesh until the pink dot is in the center. check blender tutorial FIN fix on my page
