@LittleMissHayden In your properties bar, there should be a little wrench icon, this is the modifier section. Now just add a modifier and click mirror. PM me if you still have trouble.
@LeThalxBlood Press B in edit mode, right click and hold with your mouse and drag it over the area you want to select, then release it. Or press B button twice until you get a circle then just click and hold over the verticies you want to select.
If you have a higher version then blender 2.49 then the newer versions dosen't support these features any more then I don't know how I can help you.
So your not new to blender3D but you just..don't know how extrude works or how to select things in blender?
If you watch the previous video you would understand that extruding will only bring up lines or faces.
If you only select one verticie a line will be created and extruded up. if you select more the one with the B tool with verticies that are connected, press E-->region/edges and you will create a face
Any time i press Alt, my background image disapears and i cant get it back at all, any idea why? :S And how can i move the screen up and down, cause when i zoom it it only zooms to the middle and i cant get a closer look at the top/bottom etc.
@OkamiAmaterasu26229 I can't find out why the mirror modifier won't apply in edit mode. It should work in both modes. Can you give me a description of what you did before trying to mirro image it?
good video but after creating the basic dragon shape i realised i did it in top view so when i click front view i actually see the bottom of the dragon is there a way to change which face is the side face?
your hotkey's were confusing me, i kept hitting R and getting rotate instead of resizing. Did blender change default hotkeys in a recent update or do you have custom hotkeys?
hello there.. again.... i have a quastion... again.... at school, i have to use Autodesk Maya... so my quastion is how i can open these .blend files in blender. well actualy my quastion is how i can save my file in something else than .BLEND.....
Hello Meegz0 from venezuela ^^, first thx for your awesome job, i watched the 3 videos of Basic and thx to you i can move around blender :D, but ^^ i have a situation
i started to watch this video and i stock in the very beginning , when you make the box , then apply some extrude , when i reach the part to apply the LoopCut , i press K like you said, selected loopcut, press middle button to cut on the middle, so this it my problem when i cut, it doesnt cut all the mesh of the middle, why ?
@hgouveia hm, are you using pure squares or did you make some triangles? sometimes when theres triangles it'll make another triangular cut and not go around the mesh they way you wanted. Also, just making sure, are you mousing over the place where you want to make the cut?
yes okey... I got that but I mean that I can't even selekt the vertices with the b tool thing..... so now i use the mouse button 2 (right mouse button) and hold shift to select more... or when I want to do it fast I press B twice (BB) to select in a circle around the cursor...
@instert94 well what ever works for ya :) BB is also a great way to select. You can also use your scroll on your mouse button to increase or decrease it's size!
@instert94 I make sure too awnser all questions that need awnsers. I can basic tutorials on my youtube page as well if you don't understand. But the hotkey b isn't for moving the vertices. It's for selecting spesific verticies/edges. After you use the B key to get all the edges/verticies you want moved, you need to use the G key to move them. G=grab. B=box select tool. :)
@flotch93 grab is the G Key. R is the rotate. PLEASSE click the link at the beginning of the video if you've never used blender before. XD Everything will make alot more sense.
@neon012345 You NEED to click on the link on the annotion at the beginning of the video. it will lead you to the blender basics for beginners and it'll teach you everything that's confusing to you now.
@Celle1P Yup. It's pretty common until you notice the cause.
When you click on an object/mesh in object mode, you should see a small pink dot somewhere. Depending where that pink dot is detirmines the meshes "center" if it's far away from the actual place you want you're mesh to be centered, the mirror image will look like that. Go to object mode, click on the model you want to mirror, and move it until it's mesh until the pink dot is in the center. check blender tutorial FIN fix on my page

Any advice on how to avoid those blend1.blend1.blend1.blend1 - files?
Kabitu1 9 months ago
@Kabitu1 the only way to avoid it is to make sure you only save as once. Or don't crash and restore the back up. lol.
Other then that, they're basicly backup files which you'll have to remove.

R does stand for rotate :( S is for scaling(resize). I have the full correct list of them on my basics for beginners tutorials

@instert94 Go to import, it should give yo ua list of things you can export it as :)
If you can't find a file that you can open in maya, look for a blender plug in that will allow you to export it as a maya compatible file!
