It's been 40 years since he sang this classic song Clint Eastwood has since made music to some of his films includes The Bridges of Madison County & most recently Gran Torino in which he not only wrote the song but he did it with help of his Musician son of his Kyle Eastwood. if you seen the end credits to Gran Torino, you'll hear a little bit of his singing voice as the credits came on.
Now i can add Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges to the list of great actors who sings. I've recently seen Crazy Heart on DVD and he sang so great just like Clint Eastwood in Paint Your Wagon.
I've recently seen Robert Altman's final movie Prarie Home Companion on DVD and besides John C. Reilly also Woody Harrelson, Lily Tomlin, Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, L.Q. Jones,& Lindsay Lohan who also sang as well. Look for it on DVD and enjoy .
PLEASE tell me where you got a copy of the Tin Drum! I also saw it in the early 80's at a college foriegn festival. I haven't been able locate a copy since, dubbed or not!
I also add John C. Reilly & Catherine Zeta Jones from the film version of Chicago. to the comment that i wrote 6 months ago about actors who also sing as well.
I do believe he can sing very well and with more singing and practice he could definently sink all of these so called negative remarkers boats. They sound like he sings regularly and refuses to quit. But he stays in his comfort zone "Kicking Ass and taking names", you did notice no one left a name, didn't you? D. Vonasek.
Clint Eastwood Sings I Talk to the Trees, One of the best songs from Paint Your Wagon. Even for a future Oscar winner Clint sure knows how to carry a good tune. Just like Lee Marvin, Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, John Travolta, Jamie Foxx, Robin Williams, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, & Will Farrell, among others who sang in musicals and music biopics ever since. Great singing Clint.
Clint is really not a bad singer but yes, not great by any means. I know many are critical of him. Nice song with video and good movie"Paint Your Wagon"

My friend gave me the lyrics. sounded fun. i searched it on youtube. and found this bollocks. over all; well done for wasting 2:58 minutes and seconds of my life.
unfortunately, no. he passed away in 2000. i have many tapes and cd's of him singing. every holiday that we would all get together, after the meal we'd pull out the music books and gather around the piano and we'd all sing. those are some of my fondest memories of him!
This song brings wonderful memories of your grandfather when he directed a play in which my mother appeared. That was many years before you arrived. Do you hear from or know of Lou DiPiro who wrote Holiday for Linda?
had to check with mom on this one, lol. she told me that lou was one of poppop's best friends, passed away years ago, and my grandmother is still close to his widow. are you on long island?
This is very nice. I grew up in Auburn Center, my parents still live there. It was a supprising find to get this video...PA is truly beautiful. Living in Texas now, very different.
Thank you for posting this. Just knowing it can be accessed at will and with such beautiful accompanying video, feels good. The Paint Your Wagon scenes for this are good but I like to listen to Mr. Eastwood's version with your video.
TNX for this beautiful song and your video. I use this clip for my Clint Eastwood-Hyve (it's only in dutch and Hyves is a free Dutch social networking site) so many people can enjoy the song and your vid.
Thank you very much donnah79; it's a cool song for sure, and you made it more beautiful by adding those nice pics. I am a girl from Turkey, and even a person from there wanna thank you.
