This is what pilot's call a 2 minute turn, and it is very, very easy in a 747. There is no evidence whatsoever that this pilot is anything special, though he might be, and hopefully, he will never have to prove himself. The pilot who landed in the Hudson River when both engines failed from bird-strike is an amazing pilot.

I will never forget the first time I flew in a 747, transatlantic, almost 40 years ago, in 1971. That would have been second year in service. I had a window seat behind the wing. I could see the huge engines swaying slightly, and realized how much tolerance had been built into this fantastic plane. It was a marvelous adventure then, and the plane is still one of the greatest aircraft designs ever. A fantastic accomplishment and airplane.

@Andy2x4 well.... i don't know for sure, but firstly studies done following 9/11 showed that high altitude airliners actually helped stir the ozone and keep it healthy and it is probably many times more efficient than flying a smaller plane like a Airbus 318 that holds a fourth as many passengers, like railroads they are the most "environmentally friendly" but the least used mode of transporting cargo.
