I was in high school in Kuwait when I saw this movie, but since script used in movie was Indian, I never knew it's name to look it up again with -- until today.
Such a beautiful song the iconic Kishore Kumar had rendered!! The Arabic instrumental is simply phenomenal.
My sincerest gratitude to the big-three of this production: Farooq Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah, & the lovely Deepti Naval -- three of my most favorite artists whose films each hold such value to them that to bestow a numeric value upon their entire existence would be impossible.
Man, was Sai Paranjape a genius with the camera or what? The "paintings" these woman "painted," the stories she "narrated" are only second to none. She definitely stands in a league of her very own as far as good, homely films are concerned. Take a look at "Chashme Buddoor" & even this gem, "Kaatha," & they would be self-explanatory themselves. Excellence rarely crosses the scene, & when it does, one should enjoy it with all of their might before it is taken away. Kudos to the artists in here!!!
@gisellejensen She had a Russian father and she was raised in Australia. But she made films about the Indian working class. She found humor in our mundane lives.
