  • Junior made it....in spite of his grades. He rocked.

  • well it seems kind of frightening, how this younger generation swings

  • awesome

  • this album is just great, Vh at it best, i could buy anyone of the first 6 albums (till jump) and none since.

  • One of their best boys! Learn it,Love it, Live it!

  • Have you seen MY grades?Makes Junior look like a genius.

  • Not a huge fan of this album ...probably my least favorite of the first 5 ( The only "real Van Halen albums) but this song is a bright spot

  • I consider myself as I get older (50) VERY FORTUNATE that i had the "FUN" of hearing this as CURRENT on radio at the time..i have to wonder if that will ever come back

I believe the 80's will be regarded as the end of the "innocent" era..

(it sounds funny yes to call a song like this Innocent tho..LOL)

  • @lotusesprit1981 Hmmm...I have to disagree. There were some little bands like U2, R.E.M., Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, etc. which came into their own in the '80s...not to mention that Springsteen, The Stones (Tatoo You), AC/DC (Back in Black), etc... made some decent stuff. There was crap in the '80s, just like any decade, but I will take U2's War over all but a handful of albums ever made.

  • I was floored the first time I heard that opening riff for And The Cradle Will Rock. I remember begging my parents for ways to earn enough allowance money to buy it on vinyl. I was a grass mowing, dish washing fool! :) I would lock myself in the bedroom for hours and pretend to be Eddie. WACF is still one of my all-time favorite rock albums.

  • Way better than that new junk

  • probably one of the greatest songs EVER recorded...........

  • Now this, is VH!!!!

  • Junior's grades....rock

  • Now this is true VH..

  • r o c k o n !!!

  • I was a mere teenager when i bought this vinyl album and it blew my mind, and VH got a place in my heart ever since ;-D

  • Lyric help please; what is that line that goes something like 'they say he's gonna be a spacey boy, spacey boy'? I've never been able to make it out. What the hell, songs rocks...

  • @nitedrive "and when some local kid gets down they try and drum 'em out of town, they say you coulda at least faked it boy, faked it boy"

  • @nashvillegirl - AH. Of course.... ;)

  • @nitedrive another thing to remember is that Dave sometimes sang gibberish when he didn't have a word to fit. He readily admits this. So, sometimes you'll scratch your head trying to figure out the meaning of a phrase when it meant nothing anyway.

  • OH YEAH ...YOU KNOW

     THEY ROCKED

  • 1 kid apparently got kicked in the balls...and never got over it!

  • Well the kid is into losing sleep & he don't come home for half the week ... you know it's more than just an aggrevation !

  • hav yew seen jewnierz graydz?

  • @xUndisputedAttitude so does your mom but were not complaining

  • Now days I'd settle to swill my suds watching the Air Races at Reno Nevada:}}}

  • Good old days of beer tours in my 72 Cutlass:}}}

  • my poor life

  • The Greatest Hard Rock Band of Them All? Yes.

  • this song is so different from the tracks in this album e.e

  • I think someone got an F.

  • This one was a warm up shortly to KISS hitting the stage in Prague June 2007, so cool

  • Classic VH...got to see them at the US Festival in 1983 and then again in 1984 at the San Diego Sports Arena.....excellent show in San Diego, DLR was extremely wasted at the Us Festival. Good memories

  • so much time has passsed

  • I saw them in Chicago at the Horizon (Allstate) few years ago and I was so wasted that I asked my friends if they played jump, and they're like dude- they closed the show with it. If you don't get wasted for a VH show, then you probly weren't there....

  • 1 person dose not want to rock the cradle

  • Have you seen juniors grades?

  • this was my first vynil i bought in my life after i been grade!! was the best present in my life

  • @charger4079 if i was junior, my grades would look bad. :(

  • The 3 minutes of silence at the end is to recover from the epic song... So much fun in GHVH!

  • GREAT TUNE

  • For real though, this album for me √ marks and reminds me of nothing more than awesome times in my life. Van Halen ruled the 80's, well along with several other greats, They got the air time, they were hip and they had talent. I think it was Gene Simmons that noticed them and made it official, if you catch my drift~~

I am strict on what I listen to and I am grateful to have Van Helen as one of my influences. Quite valuable. It's not just music, it's a motion...

  • @HarmonicalTap Don't mention that reality show bum "Gene Simmons". He is truly an embarrassment to Rock N' Roll. That guy is a sad sight to see on his show. He comes across as a desperate man. VH - RULZ .

  • @mr5exywolf Ironically I just watched an hour of that show last week, and his future ex-wife is putting him thru the ringer, literally, I met Gene and Paul and their families once at a Wunderman Thanksgiving banquet no red flag's launched until last weeks Simmons show where Gene and his lady were arguing once again in their kitchen, In tears Shannon asked "there has to be another way" Gene replied gazing at their floor "there is no other way". Is Gene full of Gene?

That didn't sit well with me

  • @HarmonicalTap Gene Simmons is an asshole.Always has been and always will be.

  • @mr5exywolf Mmmm you can say anything bout him being a reality show bum, but truth is Gene Simmons discovered Van Halen, and it's thanks to him that VH1 got recorded and released.

  • @mr5exywolf Gene Simmons got Van Halen started in 1975 with getting their demo tapes to Ted Templeman - The god of Yacht ROCK.

  • @nobodysfool67 Gene simmons is the "don king" of music.

  • Let's see, 1980. I was in 8th grade. I just started to play guitar and show an interest in the drums. I'll never forget each winter in Michigan, snow drifts 7' tall, with a high of 11º, way depressing. But then it seemed like Van Halen and that David Lee Roth are having fun out there in sunny California. David really drew a perfect picture of girls & fun in the sun, and I'm freezing in snow.

I am in California now (12yrs) amazing huh? I don't feel like I've been brainwashed at all. LOL º∆º

  • @HarmonicalTap NICE STORY

  • @HarmonicalTap

Had enough? Ready to go back to Michigan yet, LOL?

  • @HarmonicalTap: Classic man...seriously, I think you captured the feel for 75 percent of the Gex-Xers NOT living in CA from the late 70s to early 80s. I remember meeting a guy once who saw VH play in backyard parties in the mid 70s. They accomplished their mission of putting us all on the boardwalk rolling skating (ala Dave) checking out CA Girls.

  • @HarmonicalTap There is NO place like Cali !!

  • @HarmonicalTap Let's see. In spring of 1980 I'm in Grade 7 in Manitoba CANADA!!! You want to see snow and cold, live up in these parts tough guy!!! Now LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!!LMAO!!! :D)))
