  • ill admit i am only 15 , but i can do 30 pull ups, 65 push ups , lift 270 pound in leg press , 190 sit ups, and bench press 60 kg as my 1 rep max ive only been working out for a year and have been told of many fitness instructors that its pretty impressive for people in my age group to build muscle , as we are still developing ... would love to know how can i get as big a chest as that , bench and oush ups dont seem to get them any bigger for me.

    Seated dumbbell press is a great move. Also try different variations or push-ups. A big chest is not functional bro. Functionality over size any day.

    When you were 12-16 you didn't weigh around ~190+ lbs like this guy does. The more you weigh, the harder it is to do pull-ups, but they're a good indicator of overall proportional conditioning imo. e.g. I wouldn't want to be able to bench 300+ pounds but barely be able to squeeze out 5 pull-ups.

    Anyway, props to you on good conditioning and good form on your pull-ups.

  • About 5 of those were definitely not dead-hang -- but as someone who can only do 15 dead-hangs, props to you. I usually do mine more slowly too, in order to avoid any help from momentum, but that does make them more difficult. Thumbs up.

  • I suck. Been working on pullups for about 3 months. I'm 6'1", 247lbs, and I can still only do 4 on a good day. :^( Hurts like HELL in my inner elbow on my left arm. I'm not giving up though.

  • @Paynekillah It's probably because you're quite heavy for your joints. Maybe try some other way to strengthen the supporting muscles, tissues and bone first? Like lat pulldown or something.

  • @Paynekillah dude, if it hurts, it's because something is wrong. Dont push to hard. One advice: Instead of you lifting your weight alone, put a chair under you just before you start doing push ups and put 1 (or 2) feet in the back of the chair (or whatever thing you want to use). That will relieve some of the weight. Relieve the weight so you can to 10, 12 push ups. Do this 3 times resting 2-3 minutes between sets every 2-3 days. If you follow this you will be doing lots of push ups in no time.
