I love the ending to the trailer...you're right, Bilbo seeing the ring and Bilbo meeting Gollum are the epitome of the whole epic shinanigans that followed afterwards for three movies. Can't wait! Seriously...can't wait another year. I want it NOW! :)

I thought the whole "Prophecy" thing made the attempted tie-in at the end of ep. 3 really stupid. C'mon, did Vader need to be the "chosen one"? Couldn't he just be a badass all on his own without fate messing with his whole life?

I honestly didn't like RotJ that much. I'd take anything over Ewoks and the "blow up the Death Star AGAIN!" ending. I think A New Hope and Empire were the only actual great ones.

I saw this trailer in the IMAX when I saw 'Adventures of Tintin' (and by gosh, did that movie deliver, by the way), and yes, I loved as much as - if not more than - you did. :) It absolutely did its job. I hate that we have to wait a year for it.

Plus, the good news for people like me is knowing that Jackson's next project after 'The Hobbit' is the 'Tintin' sequel. :D

Ellis, I take it you don't read much. Anyway if you had one book you were ever going to read, read the Hobbit. It's about 350 pages I believe and actually was intended to be a kid's book by J.R.R. Tolkien, unlike the LOTR which were adult fantasy novels and much more heavy. I highly suggest you read it. You won't be disappointed.
