Ebert was a failed screenplay sleaze writer (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Beneath the Valley of the Vixens) and fromer drunkard (it even on his Wikepedia bio) who now kicks the dead over drinking for publicity. I've always wondered who would take advice on movies from someone so lacking in style and flair. Let's face it, he was ugly even before cancer. Just because someone gets on TV, I don't idolize them.

Ebert does look a bit shaken up; hopefully he is mentally alert.
