I don't know why some people say that it's impossible to do 3:25 without getting hit. It's totally easy. And BTW: I don't like such speed runs, it just ruins the game which offers a lot of beautiful and challenging levels and secret areas. Just yesterday I played it on my SNES to the end with getting every secret that I know so far. I still don't know every secret but I won't look it up on the internet because without doing so it's still a challenge for me even after so many years of playing it!
