these cars suckkk in accidents... i was in a accident during a snow storm last week.. i hit a pothole and braked slid into a utility pole.. luckly i walked away with no serious injuries because impact was on the passanger side, but the cars totaled the window shatterd, frame bent, and roof popped up.. pretty bad

I'm not surprised that the Outlander has a poor safety rating. 2 weeks ago a local kid was driving one of these Outlanders and was hit by another car on the driver's side...sadly he died at the scene, and the other passenger was seriously injured. The car did not have side curtain airbags.

I wouldnt say so, Outlander got as good rating as CRV in crashtests here. Might be that there is different versions in europe than in usa. What is ESC ? Outlander also has ASC and ATC as standard.

Ahaa, yeah, its Hondas name. Outlander also has that as standard, and Mitsubishi was first car, wich had that system at all, in 1980's in Mitsubishi Sigma, that was first passenger production car on earth whit electronic active stability/traction control thing. :)

I own this very same car, side resistance is indeed not the best out there (i've seen worse though) since small accidents can cause big dents.
