Checkin out the show... An think u guys should have some video clips in between to of set some of the talkin so it doesn't look like u guys are jus talkin amongst ur selfs. idk how legit thats supposed to b, but it would be pretty nice. I cant wait to hear bout some nba buzz!
I think you're spot on about Halladay's age being a big put-off for potential suitors. It's not tempting to pat a 34-year old that much money when you have a young arm like Drabek that would be ML ready at that time. I think the Phils did the right thing by waiting and not taking that deal, because they will get a more favorable offer as the 31st draws nearer.

It certainly looks like the Phillies played their cards perfectly—they got a great deal on Lee and didn't have to give up their top end prospects. While Lee is a level down from the elite Halladay, this is a scary message to the rest of the NL that the Phils are for real about defending their title.
Thanks for stopping by and filling everyone in on the trade details!
As a Phils fan myself, I am half-way reluctant for the Phils to make this trade. I dont want them to give up either Drabek or Donald in order to get Halladay.
Halladay would be 34 as a F/A & paying in excess of $15 million/yr is way too much. I'd rather the Phils either go after Lee, or another top-notch starter, but I think regardless, the trade will go thru. Both sides aren't giving in, and Jays are gonna have to give in first--otherwise they just get a draft pick for him when he's a F/A.
It looks like the Dodgers are pursuing Victor Martinez aggressively. There was a rumored deal on the table for he and Cliff Lee but the Dodgers didn't take it because it included Kershaw or Billingsley, who are untouchable to trade. I don't see them getting Halladay for exactly that reason. They do have Josh Lindblom in AAA, but they won't give up either of the big two which will prevent Halladay from being a Dodger.

I think they will just sit on their hands and be content to just ride out the season. There's not much flexibility for them because of the high amount of injuries. I mean, they should have been a 90-win team but now they're running a triple-A team out there! It just makes the most sense for them to hold onto their prospects and wait 'til next year because they are very unlikely to make the playoffs this season.

In my opinion, the Twins need to be aggressive and make a move to help in the Central race. I think Orlando Cabrera or a starting pitcher would be great but Halladay seems to be out of their reach.

Do you need licensing from the various leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB) to play clips like that? i know they are all over YouTube already though?

What do you guys think about the mets? I'm not too sure about what's going on in the head of Omar Minaya right now.

Do you see the Twins making any moves to either rebuild or stock up?
