  • Were it not for the sound quality and the minor mistakes, I could easily picture myself listening to this version as well as Michelangeli's, despite the fact that you don't have any cuff links to adjust.

  • i love scarlatti and my affair with his music will last forever

  • Very nice. You have good taste in music. Your balance between left and right hands is very good. Many people let the bass become too heavy and loud. I would like to recommend the music of Nikolai Medtner to you, he is not very well known but writes fantastic stuff. The Skazki and sonatas are a good place to start. Good luck.

  • oh! very skillful! ^.^ wherecan I find the sheet music for this? :O

  • Because, xethavosh, there could have been a sharp written in the music.

  • I thought I saw a sharp note in there. If so how is it in C?

  • Very beautiful :) bravo bravo!

  • Very technically sound.

And I love that you put the quote up. I've never really gotten into boroque music because i feel that its too disconnected. Personal preference though.

This was very entertaining to watch, and listen to. And I liked the angle, but I think playing keyboard/piano, its not just the hands playing, its the entire body.

  • nice. i like the dynamics used with the trills.

  • Bravo! Excellent! Love Domenico and other classical music! Thanks for the video =)

  • Nyk, I hope I'll meet you some day. You're charming and awesome.

  • Holy shit man, you are amazing!

  • Now I'll focus on my music.

  • 5 stars..

    ow

    wow

  • Fingers are hitting the keys, and the keys make sounds.

  • I listened to this while I was making myself a quick breakfast this morning. It was a good way to start the day. Thank you. :)

  • the piano is sexy as hell. That was beautiful, thanks.

  • No that is funny. In the "related videos" section it shows "Foar everywhun from Boxxy". Yes, the similarities are striking. :)

  • @leorcc I was just being rather baffled at that myself... Then I looked in the video tags... and was even more baffled.....

  • Bravo! love the music vids. I'm a secret fan of classical piano and my heart beats a little faster when hear it. Like oxygen for the soul.

  • Ah... I think I just felt my mood lighten.

  • Glad to hear, I know I would be pretty peeved in your shoes ^-^

  • absolutely beautiful!

  • Just had a crazy idea: black light, white gloves. Both the gloves and the keys should glow.

  • Decent piano keys does not glow in blacklight.. it would have been a good idea though..

  • that would prob hurt his eyes but that would be a sweet video lol

and he could just put white tape over the keys, would be pretty cheap and would come off clean

  • Nice angle. The black long sleeves give the effect of two "Things" (ya know, like from The Addams Family).

  • Excellent! I keep trying to convince my wife to play violin on camera, but so far she hasn't wanted to. I think she will though!

  • i enjoyed this

  • Next time I need to sit atop the piano with a large fan ;)

  • don't think I've ever heard that before, it was sublime.

  • Epic Performance mate.

My Late neighbour Kate was awesome on the Piano as well, wish I had lessons when she was still around now. dough!

  • Nykytyne2 its great to have you back. as far as the camera angle goes I had a possible suggestion. IF you have room on the back of the piano perhaps the tripod could go from a top down view of the keys and you have only the keys lit up with a directional lamp on each side and wear black and maybe white gloves..I think it would be very interesting but its your videos which are superb as always. welcome back have a good day.

  • Damn, you have some talent!

  • Loverly. :-)

  • Wow, Very talented!

  • wonderful

  • Oh please you shitface you cannot play worth a damn! Shut it up!!

  • Seriously?

  • No.

  • Oh good. Sarcasm is so easily lost in text.

  • So tru.

  • I bet he has no trouble with the ladies.

  • God I would milk piano playing to get the ladies ;)

Also love the music so much, I wanted it on hq!!

  • I love piano

  • That was cool.

  • Bravo! Very well played. Light and lively-simply delightful.

I hope you will continue to share more of your fine talent and taste in music. : )

  • That was beautiful, but I could see your fingers moving.

    :p

  • Cool stuffs.

  • I think this is your best one you posted yet!

Have you ever heard the Avison re-orchestration of Scarlatti Concerto Grosso No. 3 in d minor? Freakin amazing!!! I think there's a recording of it on youtube.

  • *insert highly appreciative comment here*

  • Thank you. That was lovely.

  • Nice.

  • Most excellent!

  • I love Scarlatti.

Your interpretation is very good I like it very much, it doesn't happen very often.

Many times good pianists put too much dynamics in tunes made for harpsichord.

Other amateurs (on youtube) play this tune too fast, loosing all the feeling.

You gave this tune the same feeling it has when played by the best harpsichord players.

    BRAVISSIMO!

  • just out of curiosity, do you ever play in a jazz style? or ragtime even? if you do, you should record some of that, sir.

not that this isn;t great! t'was well played, sir.

  • Do you know any Chopin? I adore Chopin!

  • But I like seeing your face when you play. :( You always seem so enthralled to the music.

  • try the split screen :)

  • ah indeed, it is good to have you back :)

  • lovely. I'm jealous

  • Excellent. You play really well.

  • While untalented in music, I have a great admiration and respect for classical music, as it was my very first musical genre that I listened to growing up and I still do today. Thank you for playing and sharing such an enjoyable piece. Greatly appreciated.

  • Bravo indeed, very enjoyable to listen to.

  • *claps lightly on palm of hand*

  • mostly

  • Quite, quite.

  • Can you play Moonlight Sonata? Or have you already?

  • well played sir

  • Brilliant. I'm certainly not going to be confused with a musical expert, but (to me) that was pretty close to perfect. Always impressed with your keyboard abilities, Nyk.

  • I can sense your personality in your playing.

Good performance of this difficult piece! thx for sharing.

  • Ah! our friend Domenico.

Come to think of it, havn't seen him around lately...

  • I like the ones where you show your whole body, that way we can see the emotion you put in the music.

  • This was used for a weird penguin cinderella commisioned by the national film board of canada.

  • Bravo! Well played.

  • Brilliant. You just inspired me to take up learning the piano again!

  • Keep working on the camera angle, but beautifully played, wow.

  • two voices speak a third

  • A virtuoso of epic proportions.

  • reminds me of the cartoons from the 1940s of the animated hands getting their own life and playing the piano and going on adventures.

    really lovely job.

  • Beautifully played. Hope you continue to make more piano playing videos in the future. :)

  • Bravo! I'm taking up piano again, after giving it up in my childhood. you're one of my inspirational reasons for that.

  • wow... seamless dude

  • I didn't know you played the piano? You are a twisted genius and you inspire me every video you make.....

  • He has made a few videos playing piano =p

  • I was thinking...that sounds like music for harpsichord,then then I looked it up! Nice...now for a Bachs fugue! : )

  • I enjoyed the angle you had on the All Blues video, but the ol' floating hands technique always works too!

  • Of course it's not a Christmas video! It's much better ; )

  • Bravissimo!

  • Needs more face.

  • perfection :)

  • Pretty badass.

  • amazing! :D

  • Bravo Nyk, sei un mostro musicale!

  • I'm glad I've got decent speakers now, this makes it worth the money

  • quite impressive chops

  • Beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Bravo! Bravo!

  • This is not a Christmas video, but its a video uploaded on Christmas. Like a girl that's not my girl friend. Just friends with benefits! lol ;o) Thanks for sharing, can I have sloppy seconds?

  • Bravo!

  • something in that, sounded out of tune... i don't know what, I just know something sounded sour... I don't hink it was you, perhaps the piano was out of tune... idk

  • Excellent. :-)

  • Beautiful music, I cant say any more than what you put in the sidebar.

But as far as camera angles, this I have quite a few Ideas, as I am a piano player and are aware of the static nature of 1 angles. Unfortinately, there is no escaping using multiple angles within the 1 piece of music. Even if it is a movie function of still camera, best set up 2-3 angles to collect certain features, eg, the run down to the lower section, or even certain dancing between right and left hand actions.

  • also...

If you able to spend time in editing, you can experiment with mutiple takes of the same piece and the time correction (if any deviance) can be readjusted with each segway to a different position (camera angle).

Again, great music and beautiful playing, I love it when piano players 'interperate' well. 8))))

  • Awesome as always!

  • I know what you mean about camera angles. I've tried to record myself playing and I can never get it right. Anyways beautiful job. I can never get myself to play classical stuff, personally I'm into video game themes like Zelda and Mario lol.

  • Very Nice!!

I always like your music videos. Happy Holidays to you Nick!!

  • beautiful as always :)

  • Beautiful. :)

  • Way to tickle the ivory Nick.

  • Get out.

  • It's a pleasure to play here on youtube, far away from the fucking piano teachers... keep it up. nice play

  • Wow! You bring immense musical pleasure, Nyk.

If you wish for comments, here's my personal take: I'd play a trifle deeper into the keys and get slightly more sound from each tone, and also set down the tempo slightly so as to keep connected with an audience and keep control over tempo (1:30 f.ex.) and tone.

After that, in an ideal world, the rubato's may be a little bit stronger. Keep pushing the message into those keys.

Feel free to disagree. I only wrote it because you're worth it.

    THANKS!

  • bravo bravo, magnificent as always nyk

makes me regret not learning to play any musical instruments when i was younger

  • Wow. You play beautifully.

  • Wow! that Was Awesome!! thx for sharing :-)

  • I MUST respond to this video...perhaps this week.
