What will Barack do for you merge the US with Canada and Mexico and not do anything about the war? Do you know he profits from the war? You probably didn't... Ron Paul 2008... Freedom!
I have changed my view on the death penalty, and so has Ron Paul. The reasons? Firstly, DNA testing has proved that about 10% of people in prison for murder were falsely accused. And second, an examination of death row inmates in Illinois showed that about 40% had serious problems at their trial (such as being represented by a lawyer who was later disbarred for incompetence). It's hard to support the death penalty when you learn that 10-40% of the people being killed might in fact be innocent.
I completely agree. Too many people see things in black and white. You are either a neo-con Republican or a liberal Democrat and there are no positions inbetween. Which is laughable at best, horrifying in truth.

There is no such thing as a conservative libertarian. Ron Paul is a Republican.
Ron Paul voted NO for stem cell research and against many other pro-abortion issues, and he also voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border.... a FENCE!! Do not, under any circumstances, vote for Ron Paul, or any other Republican candidate in the 2008 General Election.
I do not support Ron Paul for President, but this is still a great video, and hopefully good for his campaign.
If you're thinking of wasting your vote on Ron Paul, then you should study up yourself. Listen to what he says in his campaign, then look at how he has voted. He's just another Republican trying to get centrist votes.
You know nothing about Ron Paul. You don't know his past, and you're wasting your vote for being uneducated. Who would you vote for then? And why? Prepare to be crushed.
Actually, Ron Paul supporters, more than any other candidate supporters in American history DO their due diligence. We research 20+ years of congressional voting records. We fully understand his positions and history. We are not taken by a perfect haircut or the latest buzzwords. We Paul supporters know his stances inside and out and can lay a discourse extemporaneously on Paul's political positions. I dare say the supporters of other candidates could not match our knowledge of our candidate.
Sirs, just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I don't do my research. I made my point - Ron Paul is a republican running as a republican. He is by far the lesser of evils, but he is still just a republican and anyone can learn enough about him from his own website, which of course, states his clear opposition to Roe vs. Wade. Just another old republican that thinks he can tell women what to do... Libertarian, my ass.
You claimed that anybody who actually did the research and looked up his voting record would hate him. I am calling BS on that. Nobody knows their candidates record more intimately than Ron Paul supporters, and I provided the public gov't link for anybody who wants to do the research themselves. The more people research him, the more we want him. It's a cold fact, like it or not.
It's all very telling folks. I never said you would "hate" him if you looked at his record. I simply said he IS a republican, not a Libertarian. His supporters (you) are trying to say otherwise, and that is a LIE. It is also a cold hard fact that he is not going to get the nomination, so you are all wasting your votes anyway... happy hunting!
Telling us we are wasting our votes or know nothing of our own candidate is very wonderful of you, Lukin. You claim Ron isn't a libertarian yet you KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT A LIBERTARIAN ACTUALLY IS? You know nothing of how many issues we are, as a party, split on!
Exactly, I defy the average supporter of any other candidate to do better on a quiz on their candidates policies than any Ron Paul supporter. It's not necessarily that Ron Paul supporters are smarter, but largely that the philosophy of liberty is very elegant & easy to understand. That's why the constitution on which our entire system government all fits on one piece of paper. Contrast that with the IRS tax code...
...The Constitution fits on one piece of paper because it outlines just a few things which are explicitly forbidden, implying that all else is permitted. This is the basis of the philosophy of a free society. Things like the IRS tax code are complicated because they ascribe to the napoleonic style rule-of-law, in which only that which is explicitly permitted is outlined, implying that all else is forbidden. That is the basis of an oligarchical society.
the constitution is short because it grants specific and enumerated powers to the federal government (along with specific prohibitions that are contained in the amendments), and beyond that, the federal government has no authority, and that such authority is devolved to the states (see the 10th amendment).
In other words, the constitution constrains the powers of government.
He wants to overthrow Roe v Wade because he believes that abortion law should be decided on a state by state basis. He personally believes that abortion is wrong, but he doesn't believe that the federal government has the right to tell the individual states what position to take on abortion. Chances are if you live in a liberal state under a Ron Paul administration, abortion would be legal.
leitermann: "wants to overthrow Roe v. Wade" is not totally accurate. He just wants the government to work as it is designed, instead of letting the feds run our lives. Roe v. Wade may or may not change due to this, but I don't think it is his priority.
Well by 'overthrow', all I really meant was that he wants the issue out of the federal government's hands. I don't know precisely how he intends to do it, but I'm pretty sure the rest of what I said still stands. Anyway, while issues as abortion & gay marriage are important, I think the federal government should stick to national security, & let the states deal with micromanaging such tasks as those.
Actually, you are wrong. It is because Roe vs Wade is a road block on allowing states to decide the issue. You can read the memoirs of Teddy Roosevelt. Including his views on abortion (he was a centrist) ... in 1904!
Abortion has been around for a long time. Just up until Roe vs Wade in the 70s, we decided on the issue on the state level. You know. We didn't try to force our beliefs on each other and we lived and let live.
He's a republican because he leans in that direction. Bill Mahar is a democrat right now because that's how he feels, even though he voted for BOB DOLE in 96. Dennis Miller was a registered democrat in the 90s, but switched to Republican because he is for the war.
Please, DO research his votes! thomas dot loc dot gov is a good place to start! and while you are at it, check out this YouTube of Dr Paul from 1988:
watch?v=80qaKEEQSLM
You will find that not only do his positions not change over the 30+ years we have a public record of him, but every single vote he has ever cast matches exactly what he says, without one single exception. 8-) Go ahead, try and prove me wrong. 8-)
My comment was also directed at lukin - he claimed that anybody who actually looked up Paul's voting record would no longer like him. I'm calling lukin a liar, and gave the public gov't address for anybody who wants to to look up Ron Paul's voting record. I find it...interesting...that I get thumbed down for telling people to research his voting record for themselves. ;-)
His view on the death penalty did change. But people can change their minds, and it's not like he doesn't openly admit it.
The way he votes however has always mirrored EXACTLY what he was saying at the time. I don't agree with him on everything, that's to be expected, but I can't let a few disagreements shy me away from a man I agree so much with on so many other things that can save our country from the doom it's been marked with.
I think this lukin character want to make people think Paul has a bad record without actually doing their research. You may have noticed that he thumbed me down, after he said that anybody who researched his record would not like him, for actually providing the gov't website to research the record. Very telling IMHO. ;-)
Lukin3... a fence? Oh my. That's so horrifying? What?
He is anti-abortion on the state level. I am pro-abortion on the state level (kinda, I have a pro-life heart but a pro-choice brain). He doesn't think it's an issue that should be federally mandated.
A libertarian is a person the believes that a person should be able to do what they want as long as it does not directly effect other people. Abortion is an issue libertarians are TORN IN HALF OVER. Pro-life libertarians feel that a fetus is a person, and killing it is infringing on it's rights. Pro-choice libertarians feel a fetus is not a person, and there for killing it doesn't infringe on any one's rights. The debate here is when a person is a person, and nothing else.
Libertarians are split up on more issues than that too. Bill Mahar (anti-second admendment, pro-death penalty), Dennis Miller (who actually is pro-war!), Drew Carrey, and Clint Eastwood are all libertarians and all four have very different views in varying areas. But all four believe in the basic concepts of 'if it's between consenting adults it's not the government's business'.
I think I'll go back to the beach and write another song. The last one I posted pales in comparison. I'm definitely re-inspired. Please post again as you are surly making a difference!

I think you're right, but a lot of people have never looked past the smiling exterior. They remember Reagan's term as a time of relative prosperity (at least perceived prosperity). When you're comfortable, it's easier to think kindly of a president who ignores the people's wishes, conducts policy in secret, and creates monstrous debts. Ron Paul will be a much better president.
Thank you for the reply. I think most Paul supporters weren't born when Reagan was president. I don't think the average Paul supporter would approve of conducting a secret war in Central America and funding it by selling weapons to IRAN in the name of profit for corporations in the US. Untold numbers of lives were devastated by the
contra wars, death squads funded by
Reagan. The maker of this video seems to think Reagan was cool. Either he doesn't know his history, or he approves of Reagan.
"look im a scrawny 19 yr old cacausian male with acne on my back" and dude..your my fucking hero...nicely done vid...GO RON PAUL!!!! RON PAUL!!!! DONATE NOW!!!
This man is a patriot and a hero. Good for you, sir. You have awakened, you have looked around, and you have begun to fight. Mohandas Gandhi said, "First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they fight you, then you win." They're fighting us, my friend. Soon, we win.
this video is just another example of america waking up and becoming informed....i am shocked that america has responded like to...it's been a looon loong time since we had a HERO in office...JFK Lincoln and Daddy Washington would be touched and releived that we are coming back to our senses...truly history in the making.
I agree that Ron Paul is worth finding out about. I have heard of him over the years and from what I have observed he is a man of integrity. The last president that I am honestly proud of is Ronald Reagan. He fell short of his aims but still went a long ways to making America something we can be proud of. Perhaps Ron Paul can do the same in his own way.
Ron Paul is heavilly supported by extreme right-wing interests because his "We The People" act seeks to block federal courts from protecting women's and minority rights. But why believe me? Do your own research,
As many others have said. I have a restored hope for this country. When our constitution is raised up it still strikes a cord in the hearts of people in this nation. It cuts across party lines.
With freedom comes responsibility
All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men/women to do nothing.
WE the people must show this nation once again that Ron Paul has the support of the people so much that kids and young adults that have never paid any attention to politics and would of never dreamed of donating to a "Politician" will once again open there wallets and prove yet again that
WE THE PEOPLE OF THE U.S.A demand honesty in office because honesty counts>Ron Paul 08'
Nice vid brother. Let's all keep up the good fight and finish our work. The bright stripes of our flag gain new luster by our lives. I bid you godspeed brothers & sisters!
What I find most appealing about the Ron Paul campaign, is the spirit of kindredness: that we are, despite our differences of a similar mind. We are united, as Lincoln said, by "the better Angels of our nature." This is unique to politics, and will have a long echo. For those who had no interest in politics are now leaping from their beds to join the Ron Paul campaign. This is a very good thing, and its essence is one of spirit more than anything else.
damn you! you had my attention immediately, but got me to tear up w/ "America, America". I usually am not phased by such things, but this man, Ron Paul, has truly inspired me unlike any other politician.
That's so awesome man......great video....ya know you do the research, and you can't help the negative outlook on the future of America....but with Ron Paul and all us people getting behind him....especially the youth like you and me...It a great feeling that there is a ray of light shining for the opportunity to get this country on the right track.....and hell if America is doomed....we are going to put up one massive hell of a fight
this is to touching man!! we're all American and Ron Paul message is clear and simple is to protect the freedom of each and everyone of us. I love Ron Paul too! he is our only hope.
When I first looked at it, the first thing that popped into my mind was, "Ah, this is going to be gay as hell."
When I saw it, I said to myself, "This is what Ron Paul represents. REAL people who represent the common man and embody what it is to be REAL Americans, not air-brushed, make-up filled, fake people who shake their ass for attention to muster votes."
it's strange when I think you were only 13 when 9/11 happened (I was 20) when I was growing up, you could still watch movies like true lies and executive decision and confidently believe that America were the good guys, now everything just feals like a PR campaign, whenever I watch something like true lies, I can't help thinking, America probly trained those guys, and sold to them the technology they used to build the nuke that they were about to attack america with.
That is awesome. Can you post this as a video reply to all the Obama Girl related videos? That way watchers might have a chance to see something actually inspirational.

Do your own research,
Check out his We the People Act on wikipedia.

As many others have said. I have a restored hope for this country. When our constitution is raised up it still strikes a cord in the hearts of people in this nation. It cuts across party lines.
With freedom comes responsibility
All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men/women to do nothing.
Let's be responsible and DO SOMETHING!

Very impressive.
Rock on man.

it's strange when I think you were only 13 when 9/11 happened (I was 20) when I was growing up, you could still watch movies like true lies and executive decision and confidently believe that America were the good guys, now everything just feals like a PR campaign, whenever I watch something like true lies, I can't help thinking, America probly trained those guys, and sold to them the technology they used to build the nuke that they were about to attack america with.
