Is the height and the way one seats affect the use of this technique. Jojo sits high. I feel unbalanced when I try this so I tend to go for a more paralell seating. Have you notice a difference with seat heights?
Hey guys this is Wes. Check out some more of my lessons under the username wmdrums if you are interested. I really appreciate the response that I have gotten from this video! Thank you all
@wmdrums hey ive been working on this and i noticed with triplets jojo kind of reverses the motion to more of a toe heel. Then with 16th notes he does the heel toe thing. So i was just wondering if u think it makes a difference?
cool man, i watched the same video, been practicing that technique for about a year now, and its paying off, my feet aren't tired and i'm hitting like mak5, fuck its cool, if you pay attention to most peoples playing they never use 3s, 4s, 5s or 6 stroke hits, and it sounds different with one pedal, in my opinion it sounds cooler. it can really transform a sound but i think it takes a certain amount of creativity to pull off this shit, well, its in the works at least! cheers
Hey Wes. Great video man if you get a chance to read this it would be really neat to see some actual applications of this technique on a drum set. Ive seen Jojo's video but you cant actually see what he's doing all that well. I'm surprised he didn't touch on this in his "secret weapons of a modern drummer" video but I guess that is only hand technique.
Thanks Wes! If you watch Jojo's foot when he goes faster, his toe moves to the middle of the board for more power which probably helps with the evenness of the strokes.
really helpful video, thanks a lot.

I think that is more of a personal preference kind of thing. As long as it works for you, that is all that really matters dude!

isnt that heal toe?

No, it's constant release. Heel toe is more of a "gallop" motion
