@castinovakiwi yeah ur right thats not the right grip he did it more like an ipon but u can do same side lapel or sleeve or both arms grab the sleeve but this guy did it wrong.
this is yama arashi but i don t use to get up my leg i do it lig sai otoshio o tai otoshi with the leg back like you do but you don have to move the leg up. like harai.
I have seen that version too, I know exactly what you are talking about. I personally don't like that version because you are not using the Obi (belt) for take down as much as this version. That version as you mentioned is almost like Sukui Nage or even Tani Otoshi. Again I should probably update this video and add that version also to it as well. Have you seen our Sukui Nageh? The second version I am showing is what you are talking about except grabing the belt.
Triad Martial Arts is its owns system and style. Our Karate has roots in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu and Tang Soo Do, our Jiu-Jitsu is Brazilian from Rickson Gracie and Carlos Machado, and our Judo is Sanctioned and Chartered by United State Judo Association (USJA).
The Jiu-Jitsu rank colors are orange, yellow, green, blue, blue strip, red, red strip, purple, purple strip, brown and black. Nicholas is one of our Jiu-Jitsu instroctors and he is been doing Jiu-Jitsu for past 7 years. It takes a very long time to advance to higher belt in Triad system. That's why when our team goes to any Jiu-Jitsu tournament in U.S. always finish first. Our 5 person team just finished 7 in NAGA U.S. National and every one finished first in Gi and No Gi.
Why do you call it "judo" if it's clearly not a judo move.

That hand on the face for the obi-otoshi is illegal, surely?

@AndyD070568 In Judo, yes, but not in Jujutsu or Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Einarr1989 2 months ago
@AndyD070568 Yes and so is the grip on the front of the belt. (in Judo competition that is.)

@sonnych69 Not in Judo competition.

For Yama Arashi, this demonstration of the throw looks like it could break the arm. I thought the grip was across the lapel, thumb out.

Yeah, I do DZR as well. Yama Arashi in DZR is a combination of Osoto Gari and and arm-bar and choke.

yama arashi looks really dangerous ... i think it's really easy to brake uke's arms doing that throw.

@Kosme88 You'll get an instant hansoku make (disqualification), if you try to do it like that in competition.
