I always loved Barbara's acceptance speeches . Brief , witty and to the point . It must have been a great moment of triumph for her to grab the award from the great Barbara Stanwyck for two consecutive years . And god , she totally deserved it !
I got these from another fan. Don't know exactly how she got them, probably from another fan. I don't have anything other than what is on this clip. Too bad they aren't on DVD.
The 1966-'67 Emmy Awards WERE telecast from New York and Hollywood, 'linus'- on June 4, 1967. Joey Bishop was emcee for the ceremonies from the Century Plaza Hotel in Hollywood, while Hugh Downs handled the honors from the Americana Hotel in New York.
Wow, What a great clip! Where did you find it? Always been a fan Barbara's. She's a wonderful person, too. I met her many years ago at a reception for the Actor's Studio. She was still married to Marty.
Cinnamon was so glamorus. Funny, I have an old episode of Ben Casey with her and she's barely recognizable! Classy lady!
What fun! Got to see three of my favorite ladies, Cinnamon, Victoria Barkley, and Mrs. Peel. Interesting to note the similarities between the nominated roles that year; strong women were in vogue long before Buffy, Alias, and Dark Angel. But why did they always preface announcing the winner by saying, "The winner in HOLLYWOOD is..."? What's that about?
I laughed and cheered when I heard Barbara's crack about a gentlemen to thank ... *privately*
Was that some motivated motor-vatin' that night? And Martin, who had her back like a man truly in love (1:04 - look how his eyes light up when they say her name), soooo knows that's gonna be some... mmm, mmm, MMM!!!... some GOOD stuff that night... (2:02 - they even put a camera on him for his reaction - *sweet*!)
Heck; today, they'd just do it right on stage. Ah, class. Well, classy smut
Barbara Main is such a foxy lady! So poised and full of class! I also love Martin Landau when he flashes his cheeky grin...

The speeches were so much shorter then, I love the women's fashions and hair in '67......

Looks as though Barbara was totally surprised when she won the first of her three Emmys for Mission Impossible.
