@TheOneThatGetsIt C'mon man, don't be so mean to me. I'm not trying to hurt or bully you. You're the one who called me a "narrow-minded internet faggot" and I'm trying to be as reasonable and open-minded as possible. If you're so upset about the replies you get, consider this page a horrible place to vent about how much you dislike Jamie Cullum. That's the thing about appealing to an audience I was saying. It's just logical.
@TheOneThatGetsIt But I believe that maybe the best way to express your opinion effectively on the internet (and possibly everywhere) is to target a specific audience/demographic and state a comment in a thought provoking way. That way, the people willing to consider a different opinion will do just that and not feel forced, insulted or bullied. Everyone else will still be entitled to their own opinions. Does that make sense?
@TheOneThatGetsIt I read the internet part but I didn't consider that. I'm not exactly sure what my opinion of the internet is. I guess for a lot of people, the anonymity of the internet does provide a veil that allows people to be very outspoken and sometime very extremist.
I don't think THIS was a waste of time though. I think that when it comes to the internet the only waste of time would be trying to force opinions. Neither of us are doing that though.
@TheOneThatGetsIt I dunno bro, a lot of people respond to classy pretty well. M.L. King Jr. was pretty classy. Gandhi was definitely classy. When you keep your cool, there's a certain impact you make on people.
But the crazy performance stuff. I doesn't make you a better musician, that's for sure. It just makes you fun to watch. Like I'm no special/amazing keyboardist but I play keytar 'cuz it's gimmicky and grabs people's attention. I believe that's why he does it.
@TheOneThatGetsIt Oh my God bro, I was like half-kidding! :-D Chill! Of coarse you're entitled to your opinion. Just don't be so harsh. It's like this: My favorite band is Switchfoot. Not everyone likes Switchfoot and that's okay with me, but if I posted a video about Switchfoot and someone came up and was all "This is bullshit," It would be pretty disrespectful. Just keep your cool and carry on. And keep it classy.
When you're used to Jamie's talent, you think he can't surprise you anymore but then he does something like this mash-up and BANG! Once again you're amazed by his amazingness. A true talent! He's the best!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He is not a Singer at all ! I would gladly pay for not listening to him ! He does NOT have a good VOICE ! he destroys the Song ! . He is an Artificial "artist " product of some producer that is all ...
And When Mr. De Niro listen to him I could tell ,he knows his standars who could be no less than artist of a size like Matt Monoe , Sinatra , Tony Bennett , Mel Torme , etc. Please dont put a truly artist and connoiseur like Mr. De Niro in such an awkard position !
@camilo06 First: you seem to ignore that the festival producers asked Mr De Niro what he would like to listen and his reply was Jamie Cullum as he likes him very much. Second: listen to this rendition youtube.com/watch?v=F1r6GcPqFSo then if you still don't hear his talent I'm afraid you don't have enough musical knowledge and taste to appreciate music.
Please do your research before you say negative things about this artist, because everything you say here proves that you do not know Jamie Cullum's amazing oeuvre.
Here is a little example: no one less than Clint Eastwood asked him in 2008 to write the soundtrack for his film Gran Torino. Now that says something, doesn't it?
AMAZING! Jamie nailed this perfectly. Again! I should be used to this by now, but somehow he keeps surprising me. Carolina (from the Cullumholics and Jamie Cullum Portugal)
