@AverageJoe4 It comes from hundreds, probably thousands, of studies on acquisition of expertise. Most notably K. Anders Ericsson. These researchers have found that the number one determinant of expertise is number of hours of deliberate practice. Innate talent is, for the most part, a fallacy.
