Alright, so the scripting on this hydra is messed up. But the original hydra's scripting was never finished. Originally, it stabs an NPC, and pulls it down into a pit or water. That is the stabbing hydra, there are others. The seer is like an eyeball, it helps the other ones see. It has about 6 to 7 little yellow tips as eyeballs at the end rather than a sharp point. And the last one is the slapper, it has a "hand" like tip rather than a sharp part, it hits you.

Because, my friend, this is a hydra, a cut enemy, the one from Half-Life 1, is called the Tentacle. The Tentacle is green, has a beak, (I think.) and it bashes it's beak on the ground/platforms, whereas the hydra...see the video.

Cutting it was personally very painful, but I had to do it; when a design just isn't working, it just isn't working. I'd still like to see this in the Half-Life universe somewhere, maybe rethink its AI along the lines of an Antlion.
