  • Interesting!

  • Too bad The Beatles didn't record this for the Anthology album.

  • Thanks

  • Thanks

  • this is ringo

  • This was not written in the 60's, it was written in the late 70's think 79, for a play about John that was never completed; it was called Lennon.

  • I found a version of this without the string accompanyment but not the one with. Where did you find it?

  • I have a cd of White Album demos and this isn't on it. It's great to hear but I can see at least a couple of reasons John probably wasn't too keen on using it at the time.

  • He had such a great voice and a talent that hasn't been matched since

  • Justine timberlake is just as good

  • now i got this aussie guy sending me stuff i,ve never heard AWESOME garyco for sharing i,m loving you more & more BY THE WAY GREAT POST TY anything to do with the FAB FOUR is AWESOME FOR ME so10********** for my boys THE BEATLES

  • i hear a litle "save the last dance for me " in there

  • Such a treat to hear a John song I'd never heard before.

    And it's so John.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • From what I figure from the song's lyrics, he most likely wrote this while The Beatles were in India...and I'm willing to bet if I'm right on that part that "the girl (he) left behind" is Yoko. This is merely a hypothesis, so don't flame me for it please. But think about it...

    Just throwing it out there.

  • FLAME ON!!!!!Ha ha.Just kidding,mate.

  • I love that ending! Superb! Excellent tune!

  • is this a beatles or just a solo lennon track? According to Mojo, this was recorded whilst he was still in the beatles during the white album sessions.

  • bellísimaaaaaa!!!!

  • Great to finally hear this song. Thanks for posting it!

  • Love the draws!

  • Thanks! = ]

  • A good rework of a Lennon demo from the late 70s. Though its NOT a Beatle song.

  • he wrote it during the white album sessions

  • This is a great song! The quality is also quite good. Thank you for posting this piece of history.

  • The song is called "India, India" and was being written for a musical about John's life I believe that was in the works when he was shot. It was almost used for the Anthology release (which is why the vocal and acoustic sound like a demo and the rest sounds good) but was dropped in favor of some other stuff.

  • are you sure this wasn't done in the late 70s? it sounds a lot like his stuff then. he even had a demo from the late 70s called "the rishikesh song'

who did the strings/percussion on that?

  • One of my fav's thats for sure.

  • this songs is "INDIA" a very rare beatle lennon song

  • This really sounds like a Lennon song, i wonder why they didn't put it on the white album.

  • Cute drawings and a haunting melody. I like it!

  • Its weird, its using those Japanese flavoured chords, but its about India!

    Pretty track,thanks for posting..

  • An adorable song. But it's not the Beatles, it's a song that John wrote in the late seventies for a musical called "The ballad of John and Yoko". The musical never premiered...

  • I love it

  • I'd not heard this one before at all, thanks for posting! I can kinda see why he didn't use it, but it's great to hear nonetheless.

  • Yeah,but it's still pretty darn good.

  • Thanks, this was really cool! I love home demos!

  • Ha,thanks.I hope you liked my drawings too.

  • absolutly!

  • i love it

  • Glad you liked it!I'll post some more rarities soon.
