I heard there is some 21 year old guy in Canada who is jumping 7.90 already... I think his name is S.Collette or something.. he's got a video of it on youtube too
go to my channel and subscribe me (: I am 15 and jump 7.21 in longjump this year. Number one in the world this year 2009, dont believe? go chek my channel and you will se!
yeah i was refering to triple jump. you cant call it 3 stride if its not 3 stride, and run ups are not objectivly counted like that , they can be counted many ways, but you definatly havnt taking 3 strides
I thought the video was great. Is 24 and change enough to win at the national level like that because I have a kid in my state (CT) named Mike Hartfield who has gone low 24s in long and high 48s in triple so would he be up in the top tier?
hartfield was definately in top teir of long jumpon at the national level. 24 isnt good enough to win, usually, but it is really good. and 48' is impressive, but there r quite a few kids jumping 50+ in triple every year
firstly the world record holder is white, its not about race. and secondly the last clip is not 3 step, if anything its at least 5 cuz thats how many you take in the clip, there could be more before that, but its not 3 step.
If you knew anything about track, you'd know that the world record holder is not white (Mike Powell). If you were referring to triple jump, you would be correct (Jonathan Edwards). Secondly, approachs are never measured as each individual step. They are counted as one leg step. So essentially your wrong because there were only three left steps used in the video.
Those were some pretty sloppy jumps in my opinion. I think only one person in the video looked like he had a clue as to how to execute a jump properly. Everyone else looked like they'd been jumping for about a week. Maybe its the camera angle or something.
Probably just a buttload of natural talent. Because as technical jumpers, it was quite awful. I've known quite a few national level athletes that make you go "I just don't understand how you're doing this, you run like a baboon?". They just seem to have so much untapped potential when you see what they need to change.
More often then not yeah. Is NSIC high school level? Not from the states so I don't have a clue. Makes much more sense if they were. Thought it was college and something just wasn't adding up to me with their distances and their technical abilities.
i realli like dis video... everyytime i watch dis vid... it gets me pumped up to werk out... i cud hit up in da 20s but mi onli prob is hitting dat line
ok well u need speed for long jump but technique will help so much im 14 n ive hit injurioes for the last few years n i can still do 5.7m wich is almost 19 feet
Im sorry but these jumps are pretty sad im a Soph in Highschool and my PR is 23'9 and notice how low to the ground a good jumper gets 5 to 6 ft up in the air these guys are relying peerly on speed no skill just speed...Sorry to break to you guys
lol lots of ugly landings

when u jump u count each left step or each right step. it is definately a 3 step approach

@smarterchild1512 I've always preferred to measure by step because i use an odd number approach.

I don't disagree with what your saying about technqiue, but aren't the best high school track athletes those with natural talent anyways?

smarterchild1512 4 years ago
pretty damn sure those last two were nowhere near 40'. Was that a typo?
IcallitVera 4 years ago
nope, they were both mid-40's
smarterchild1512 4 years ago
They look mid 40s to me. That first jumps pretty close to 20 ft.
