  • I'm pretty sure I saw this years ago (maybe 10 years or so) and the falling sequence scared the shit out of me.

  • That vampire hat always creeped me out.

Did they ever do an actual movie to set this up (like H.R. Pufnstuf)?

  • @webkins32 No, there were never a lidsville movie planned. There was a second series and movie planned for the Bugaloos but the series was cancelled because the studio went bankrupt and the set and props were sold before they realised how successful the series actually was.

  • @rawmark Lidsville was successful? I'm trying to find info. about its' reception, but to no avail.

  • 1:10 This part takes the creepiness cake.

  • @weguess LOL..THANKZ 4 WATCHING R VID MAN XD

  • At least he doesn't get to go to school...

  • This really scared the Crap out of me when I watched it as a kid - especially the intro - Creepy!

  • @echotone69 LOL..THANKZ 4 WATCHING R VID MAN XD

  • Thank you for posting this .

  • @DrWho44X THANKS 4 WATCHING R VID MAN:) FORREST IWASZEWSKI

  • I do know that flume ride, but I sure don't remember seeing the "Merlo" sign while I was at Six Flags Over Texas.

  • What in the living hell am I looking at?

  • @hippiechik95 (shrug) I watched it as a kid and I'm still not sure how to answer that, something inspired by LSD maybe. The fact that the Krofts filmed quite a few of their shows at Six Flags over Texas (The Banna Splits, Lidsville etc) really brings back memories, I used to go there all the time as a kid back in the 1970s.

  • What a cool show! What drove me nuts, though, was that all these Krofft shows had themes that took up about a fifth of the whole show!

  • ....and that's what happened the day Eddie Munster dropped acid and then went to Six Flags.

  • Someone had all the episodes of this up but it looks like they unforunately took it down :/

  • I Remember This Show Perfectly and I Was Only 4 Yrs. Old. This Show Simply Fascinated Me. Great Memories Of Chilhood........

  • What a great show!

  • I mean honestly what mixture of drugs are you on to think up a show like this?

  • Nightmares!!!

  • So Butch DID have life after The Munsters.

  • @ghostdancer2302 yeah I met him some years bak at The LA County Fair..Thanks 4 watching our video:)

  • Don't forget to watch the sequel: Bluntsville.

  • Good thing i was too young to notice that show Lidsville when it came out in 1970, otherwise i'd be suffering psychotic episodes.

Better this than ICarly, i suppose...

  • Note...Butch is going on TOUR for the entire month of Oct. Nationwide!! Check out his FB and Twitter!

  • It would be nice if Vivendi Home Entertainment would re-release "Lidsville: The Complete Series" as a part of "The World of Sid & Marty Krofft" collection with every episode of the series including interviews with the cast, audio commentaries, etc. which would tie-in with the upcoming animated movie released by DreamWorks.

  • Butch Patrick's portrayal of Mark was crossed between David Cassidy and Desi Arnaz either Sr. or Jr., someone said it one time.

  • That two of spades always used to creep me out.

  • Did I just accidentally snort cocaine?

  • Just fabulous...best tweaky kid show ever

  • I use to watch this in 5th grade. The boy in this show if no one knows is the same kid who played Eddie Munster.

  • I remember a lid was 30 bucks? WTF?

  • TIIS GUY IS SO STONED! REGA SATANAS!

  • I LOVED this show!!!!

  • FABULOUS. THE KROFFTS WERE GENIUS PRODUCERS. TODAY KIDS GET SHITTY TV WITH ZERO IMAGINATION. SAD

  • DreamWorks plans to make a movie on this.. a musical, hope it's really good. maybe it will be G rated and really praised

  • this show scared the hell out of me on so many levels

  • Lidsville is my very favorite show. I loved Mark and the hats, I liked HooDoo too. Weeine was weird but Billie really enjoyed herself as the character.

Mark was my crush I really liked him.

  • I watched hours and hours of this growing up.

  • One must admit this song and intro are way cooler than HR Puffinstuff's.

  • i think sid and marty smoked a lid before coming up with the idea for this show

  • We knew some of the adults liked drugs. But it was OK. Cuz this show and Puff ruled.

  • OMG!!!!! I LOVED THIS SHOW LOL!!!

  • A Pufnstuf clone!

  • When are young guys going to learn not to hang around..where you're not suppose to and not to touch things.

  • Lidsville. A lid was a measure for pot back then.

  • @alabaster9 It was also a slang term for a hat back then, too.

  • They had to have popped a couple of lids in order to come up with this one.

  • Heh, I watched this as a kid without ever making the connection they're all freakin' hats. I just thought they were weird creatures.

  • Beware of fake ephedra sold elsewhere called Ephedra Extract. It has the active ingredient ephedrine alkaloids removed or it is not present at all. Only real Ephedra, Ma Huang or Sida Cordifolia has Ephedrine Alkaloids. It is the active ingredient called Ephedrine Alkaloids that make it work and it is present only in real Ephedra, Ma Huang and Sida Cordifolia. Don't be fooled by just ephedra alone. Get the real ones at the site above or click on my name above.

  • deuce of spades

  • Typical of the garbage served to kids on television during the 70's. What a waste of CNR's talent.

  • WHAT THE FUCK o.O

  • Ah, chroma-key...how do you even to explain it to the young? (Said lovingly) Why doesn't T.V. look this cheap anymore. It was so much fun.

  • That was f*****g frightening

  • Comment removed

  • "Look out!" - Well thank you, Captain Obvious...

  • I hope he learned not to mess with other people's hats!

  • Getting high was responsible for a lot of stupid stuff (like HR Puff and Stuff)

  • This show was a really bad trip

  • Is he cool?

  • The moral of the story: Don't mess with other peoples' magic items!

  • this is going to me a MOVIE. it's going into production soon.

  • looking at all these shows I watched as a kid, I'm convinced the writers and producers were all on acid! LOL!!

  • Now let's be honest, would we have watched or remembered it or even still be talking about it if it WASN'T so freaky and trippy?

  • This was originally written as a vehicle for Jack Wild's co-star in "Oliver" Mark Lester, however Lester was contractually obliged to make a film in Malta called "Eyewitness" at the time this was made meaning he couldn't star in this, hence the not so well known lead. Had Mark Lester been the star it would probably have been marketed more thoroughly and would be as famous as H.R. Pufnstuf.

  • I can't help but think that there should be something between the "He couldn't believe is ears or eyes" phrase and the rest of the intro. What's up with that? Thumbs up if you too wish for an answer as I do.

  • I wonder what day it was when Sid turned to Marty (or vice versa) and said, "You know what? I think it's time we did another show like Puffinstuff."

And the other said, "Yeah, but how do we make it different - I GOT IT! HATS!!!"

  • @JBofBrisbane LOL you don't know what a LID is! xD

  • This Is some Effed Up shit..No wonder were all screwed up so bad, I mean its susper creepy...

  • Charles Nelson Reilly. Now I remember why I am afraid of gay men in hats.

  • At 1:35, the football helmet looks disturbingly similar to a testicle....I used to love this show, but was a bit frightened by it...same with all the Kroft shows! They were all so acid-trippy. Even a kid of 5 knows it's wacked.

  • another Sid and Marty Kroft stoner show

  • Lidsville and HR Pufnstuf were my favorite shows when I was a kid. Such great memories.

  • One of the most scariest intro ever for a kid's show

  • @Wellch yeah, part of the overall feel of this is probably due to the details in the song and the fact that this is one long mother of an intro, of course the half film-half video tape thing with the melodic vocals that turn into crazy effects as Charles Nelson Reilly swoops in on you while you crap yourself is kind of a messed up situation so yea, I totally agree with you.

  • there we go! that was good programming!

  • Eddie Munster was SSSOOOO HOT!!!!

  • @sheilaboy44 What I wanted to do with that "brat Mark" DAMN!!! He was HOT!!!

  • @lvindrt lol..Thanks 4 watching our video:)

  • Witchiepoo from HR Pufnstuff played the genie

  • I think I got stoned just by watching this...

  • @jdhoffman1221 tight!

  • I remember when I first saw this, H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, and Sigmund the Sea Monster on Nick-at-Nite one weekend, years ago. Best Friday night of my life.

  • Surprised Coldplay hasn't tried to cover this song.

  • @paralentor really? haha

  • Sid and Marty Kroftt were the gods of fucked up television programming and two minute intros.

  • @chemistryguy

Due to their low budgets, the longer the intro was, the less footage they had to film for each show.

  • Man, I've always loved the theme to Lidsville and the psychedelicness to it all but the intro really freaks me out sometimes but I still like it.

  • Hard to believe this is "Eddie Munster"

  • That's Butch Patrick from the Munsters!!!

  • lol I was in the middle of that park just yesterday.

  • sid and marty must been on some good weed back in those days!!!!!!lol

  • The only thing that I thought would be good in these Krofft productions like lidsville, land of the lost, and HR puff-n-stuff was they could have filmed one episode that featured the final return to normal space through the hat, or boat or whatever. After that they could film as many episodes as they wanted, and still have a complete set!

  • I am so old that I remember watching this when I was a kid back then. Yes, I say we did a lot of drugs back then and that is what created this show!

  • texas?

  • I remember watching the intro as a kid thinking it was kind of cool. But I hated the show. All of the Sid & Marty Krofft shows seemed like they were made for babies.

  • omg is that the freddy kruger actor guy at the end. lol. scary shit.

  • @dmace81 n o it's charles nelson riley

  • Yes that was little Eddie Munster from the Munsters

  • Wasn't that the kid on The Munsters??

  • O_o

  • Do something interesting, search for Britney's Womanizer video and then tell me if you don't think the tunes are eerily similar

  • Its Eddie Munster

  • @sixxxkiller1 where is his "werewolf doll"?

  • hey sid and marty kroftt shows had great theme songs--long but good

  • Who ever came up with this had to been on drugs.

  • That kid could sure use some lessons on Christmas!

  • why?

  • I was 7 yrs old when this came out, so I liked this show, along with HR PuffNStuff, and the others, if your not from this time, you probably won't like these shows

  • Aww ! Well, it so happens that whosoever does not like THIS here show, perhaps because they aren't from it's time or whyever, may SUCK MY ASSHOLE !!

  • Guess my fear of falling greatly increased as a child after watching this. It was way too depressing. Sad that Kroftts never let him leave.

  • OMG!!! I SEE THINGS LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS SO HIGH!! ACIDS TRIPS!!

When Little People with Stranges Hats Running through Your Legs to your eyes and pick it,,

  • yup at 1:20, he has a "bad trip" literally and figuratively and then he is approached by menacing entities, one of which is waving an axe at him

  • Loved this show.

I also remember having nightmares about the giant hat.

  • Err.... what sort of drugs is anon4chanpunkz on????

This is a real trip down memory lane:)

  • I barely remember this show. I must have been 4. Thanks for posting this! What a blast from the way past!

  • i wasnt a Lidsville kid either. I was an 80s kid they showed this on reruns. i was like OHNO I cant watch this. LOL.

  • Eddie Munster.

  • 70s was the best i dont remember this one tho hmm :) ty 4 the post hun x

  • These script writers were doing some serious drugs during the 70s.

  • Agreed...lots of great stuff going on with this show...dialog, theme music, insane Charles Nelson Riley...

  • man i forgot about this show.i knew he was on some sid and marty but forgot about this show.thanks for the journey back in time.

  • great 70's sat am tv kffk

  • you tube needs lidville

  • That one was one of the most depressing show I watched. I didn't watch it for long then.

  • i AGREE!!

    THANKS FOR WATCHING

    ~GS~

  • chump, don't think for a second your pathetic pussy moved are going to get me to stop nothing you stupid fucker, you trusted kids to

fight for you and the only things done to you are the same DIRTY tricks they all did to me first. The law doesn't work how you want it and nor does YOUTUBE. You are shit. You want an investigation? That will show you name and your IP and your channels all linked to these kids and as the partner account holder and adult, you are the only one that is fucked my friend

  • plus, we all know compaints mean jack shit, but the fact you show these kids how to use reverse crimes and reverse racism as tools is like crying wolf and you look like the type of man-bitch that cries a lot. Proof is posted 1 comment below.

Forrest, all YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS STOP, is get your gang of kid trolls under control :)

  • my thoughts are that you are too afraid of those kids to be a man.

you have to kiss their asses cause if you don't, they will turn on you like they do everybody else that doesn't allow them to do the shit they do.

I gave you 3 chances to stop this. I know kid are hard to control, but as the one they all look up to, it is only the example I see through them, set by you that keeps me going against you :)

I never liked you, they gave me the window, you didn't shut it quick enough my friend

  • This show scared the bejeezuz out of me as a kid. The stuff of nightmares.

  • did the kid hurt his head falling into the giant hat?

  • It's Eddie Munster! I think this was the last show he was ever in..

  • Fantastic video and excellent song !

    5*****

  • That was really good Forrest . :o)tm *****

  • cool!

  • were the hippies running television in the 70's?

  • As a matter of fact, they were. Take a look at Laugh-In

  • oh yeah, and they are in the GHOSTSeekers too, lol=)

  • Lidsville is the kook kook kookiest! Have you evern been to Sid & Marty's restaurant?

  • There is a restaurant? WOW Where is it? thats tripped out.

  • I'm not sure where it is. I've never been there, saw it on tv, and it looked really cool

  • yeah where is the restaurant? I have to go eat there. I love *~Lidsville~*, and KROFFT.

  • I remember this one too! I was a Saturday Morning TV junkie...

  • this show, i do not remember. guess it eluded me, lol. looks just as good as Puff n Stuff though.
