  • not a Mojave. The head on a Mojave is smaller. It also looks like it was digesting something so it was a bit more docile than normal. If it was a mojave Green, poking it with a stick would probably have resulted in a visit to the hospital...or the coroner.

  • Definitely not a Mojave Green. It is a speckled rattler

  • That's how you get bit...and that's NOT a Mojave Green by the way. At least it doesn't look like it.

  • I see these snakes 2-3 times a year. They can be very fast, or slow. Your'e lucky this one was not willing to participate in your poking project.
