@Matthew9444 i've heard that as early as 1970 communication breakdown at the royal albert hall. but anyway that comes from JPJ playing a beat similar to the isley's brother's "it's your thing"
@yserrant you mean"its your thing" which zep used to stick in the middle of communication breakdown, and I love it- but its another instance of Page' s propensity for plagerism. I love all of this one, "who's to blame" and "City sirens"
Prelude also- there is a live concert where Steve Winwood sings those two songs, and his voice is 1000 percent more suited to it than Chris Farlowe's, IMHO
@LedWilde alot of people don't realize that not only did Page provide the soundtrack , he also scored the film and it really is some of his best work in my opinion. The creepy bow and the droning riffs and synht he is playing on that just work perectly for the mood of that film
hey if anyones interested, he used to jam this in the 70s live in communication breakdown. for best quality video of this jam its here /watch?v=TrSWNvHD1R8
right around 2:35 on that video. He used to do it live, and he actually got the base line from
I met Jimmy Page when he was doing the soundtrack for Death Wish 2, at the Beverly Hills Hotel with Michael Winner. I played Carol Kersey, Charlie's daughter in Death Wish 2. I hope that you will visit with me at Chiller Theatre where I am a Guest of the Chiller Theatre 2009.
@robinsherwoodactress so cool that you would post here- with all the regular folks-great job, great movie- was Charles Bronson as cool as he seemed?we need more like him-
I remember when i was 19, i wrote lyrics to this, but I can't recall.. I think it was on the lines of.. (from the first beat) "Getting hungry.. think I'll make a jam sandwitch"
I agree with you nacho, although I think Jimmy prides on not using the tremolo arm and rather bending into key, like you say with the B-Bender. What a riff though
Best guitarist ever! Hands down!

themachinist1000 3 years ago
Some of Pagey's best work IMHO.
His B-Bender work here is paralleling Beck's ultimate dominion of the tremolo arm.
Same era for both.
I sure wish things had turned out differently Jimmy....
