  • @khaiho95 if its under 2008 then you have a CD4E trannsmision which are very very expensive

  • Wow!!!!

  • Wasn't too long ago when Ford Explorers were flipping down highways and having their wheels explode at high speeds for no good reason.

  • that was cuz the firestone tires u idiot

  • A lot of the flipping wasn't due to the tires.

    Moron.

  • that was cuz firestone tires.......

  • lacroix808 you are just jelous because you know just as well as i do that you are shit comared to americans. We rule the world and you can suck our dicks

  • Fuck you lacroix808, you fucking 3rd world piece of sht!

  • all the fanboys rofl. no matter what this shit was funny 5*

  • toyota sucks, drive a Ford today.

  • toyota sucks, drive a Ford... you wont regret it.

  • FORD buys their hybrid systems from Toyota. Just so you will know before you put another foot in your mouth!!!

  • I work for Ford and that is a rumor that is completely unfounded and not true!!!!!! Show some proof before you stick your foot in your mouth!

  • @robingraves138 First of all, FORD BUYS THEIR HYBRID SYSTEMS FROM TOYOTA....along with everyone else except Honda and GM..That is a fact. The first Escape hybrid was a 1st gen prius. I have been with Toyota and Lexus for 16 years both dealership as well as engineering side.

  • @lexusmaster55

You have no idea what you are talking about. Look under the hood for about 10 seconds and you will see differently. Toyota has no Atkinson cycle engine, it has no planetary gear system, it has a much less elegant set up for the interaction between the gasoline and electric motors.

You are either completely ignorant, or like it seems most of toyota has been unmasked to be, a flat out liar.

  • @KurtNeutgens---Funny thing about your comment...First of all, the Prius was designed around the Atkinson cycle engine. Looking under the hood for 12 hours wouldn't tell you if the engine was Atkinson cycle or not. Next, the Prius has 1 planteary set and the Highlander has 2 planetary sets both of which cannot be sceen while gazing under the hood. You are a complete JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another one of those PUNKS that talks out of his ass and puts his own foot in his mouth constantly!!!!!

  • @lexusmaster55 You are just plain wrong. There were talks between Toyota and Ford for Ford to purchase a "battery design" from them. That deal did not go through. Sanyo is the SOLE producer of Fords Escape hybrid batteries. I know this because I install them in the cars at Kansas City Assembly Plant. Panasonic supplies Toyota...and recently Sanyo is looking to purchase a controlling share of Panasonic....So that is probably how that "rumor" got started.

  • @pmhoard Do you know what a Hybrid system is? It is not just the Battery. Ford purchased the licenses from Toyota but are having different suppliers make the parts. THE FORD HYBRID SYSTEM IS A TOYOTA SYNERGY DRIVE SYSTEM MADE BY DIFFERENT SUPPLIERS. A hybrid system consists of more than just a battery. I don't really care if you like if or not, those ARE the facts. Nothing wrong with this it happens all the time. Toyota purchased licenses from GM for the power sliding door in the Sienna.

  • @lexusmaster5 I don't have room to explain this to you. But, you are still just plain wrong. This RUMOR came from an article in the Wall Street journal. The article is full of misquotes and just plain misinformation. Just type "Ford purchased hybrid system from Toyota" into your google search engine. You will come up with an article from green(dot)autoblog(dot)com

Put simply.....each company designed their own hybrid system. The ONLY company that uses Toyota hybrid systems is NISSAN

  • @pmhoard since you are completely IGNORANT, READ THIS!!!!

Ford Motor Company independently developed a system with key technologies similar to Toyota's HSD technology in 2004. As a result, Ford licensed 21 patents from Toyota in exchange for patents relating to emissions technology.

NO ONE IS SAYING THAT FORD DIDN'T DEVELOP THEIR OWN FORM OF A TECHNOLOGY. NO ONE IS SAYING THEY COPIED ANYTHING. THEY DID PURCHASE 21 PATENTS FROM TOYOTA!!!!! LIKE IT OR NOT!!!!

  • @lexusmaster5 The cross licensing agreement was for technology that BOTH companies used as their base system which was from TRW engineers. So put that in your pipe and smoke it

  • @pmhoard Look....It is quite obvious that you are not a DUMB person. I am not saying that Ford "Copied" the technology. I am saying that they, whether independently or through benchmarking, needed to purchase licenses from Toyota because the Ford Hybrid system was quite similar to the Toyota system. EVERY car company benchmarks the competition. Ford COULD NOT get their systems approved independently so they had to PAY TOYOTA for 21licenses!!! Nothing wrong with that!!! Point is proven!

  • @lexusmaster5 The reality is that Ford independently developed its own hybrid system at the same time Toyota was doing its own. The basic architecture of both systems is the same and both are based on the concepts developed and patented by TRW engineers in the late 1960s. When Ford introduced the Escape Hybrid, Toyota went after the Blue Oval for infringing on its patents. Ford had patents of its own on the technology that Toyota was using.

  • @pmhoard If Ford was developing their technology at the SAME TIME, why then did the Escape not hit the market until 2004? The first hybrid Prius was launched in late 2000. That seems like quite a difference to be INDEPENDENTLY developed. Once again, EVERY car maker does this across the board and there is nothing wrong with it. I am sure that Toyota has lisences with Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler on some technologies. The Japanese were famous for taking American Tech and making it better.

  • @lexusmaster5 The simple fact is. You stated that FORD PURCHACED it's hybrid systems from TOYOTA. At the very best that is misinformation. Yes, Toyota has cross lisence agreements with Ford on many things. Hell the tail gates and doors on their Tundra will almost fit perfectly on a F-150. But, THEY DO NOT MAKE HYBRID SYSTEMS FOR FORD OR SELL THEM TO FORD.

  • @pmhoard I don't believe that you can't understand my point. Look, I am proud of Ford for not taking the bailout money. I think Ford is the best American Car maker. What I know and have proven with real information not made up BS is that FORD PURCHASED 21 licenses from Toyota in order to build their first hybrid. Also, I was involved in the design of the Tundra and it is ABSURD to think any part of that truck fits an F150!!!! That is a dumb ASS thing to say!!!

  • @lexusmaster5 I understand just fine you said "Ford buys it's hybrid systems from Toyota" that is total misinformation. Yes, Ford has a cross licening agreement with Ford....and the other way around. They each had to grease the palms of the CEO's. This because they BOTH developed their technology from someone elses technology.

  • @lexusmaster5 And your "design" of the Tundra dose allow for the doors and tailgate to fit an F-150. I didn't say the body lines match up....just the general dementions. I have several family members that are mechanics and have seen it with my own eyes.

  • @robingraves138 No one is saying that the Ford Hybrids don't have some unique features. That is industry. They partner up and share systems to help lower the costs on everybody. No need getting defensive. There are a number of systems that Toyota liscenses from Ford also. It's called keeping costs down. The highest cost in the industry is R&D. It is in the Billions. They are only smart to partake in these partnerships.
