yes, that desktop runs on about 200 watts, of course it can take a 40Watt card.

again. fail. xp, and beyond 23bit limits you to 4gb of ram, with video ram inflicting on it. 64bit xp has 128gb max, and 64bit vista and beyond uses the same system, but depending upon what version you have, there is a limiter. home premium limits at 16gb, business at 24(i think), and ultimate there's no software limit, it let's you use up to 128gb of ram

I found out that dual core processors are slow. I got a Core 2 Quad because I want a faster machine. Also don't get AMD processors!!! They burn out too fast. Get Intel because they last longer. Sometimes they overheat.

hi, I found an old dell dimension 2400 it has a FoxConn LS-36 Motherboard, 256 mb of ram and an intel Celeron 2.4 ghz processor. The thing is crap, so i want to upgrade it. i was wondering what kind of processor could be compatible with my computer. i want a decent one, pentium 4 dual or quad core. also what ram is compatible. i know its DDR RAM, i was looking at 2 gbs of OCZ DDR RAM, could this work? i just want to know whats compatible with my computer as for processors, ram,etc

you won't find a quad core. ddr is outdated. ddr 2 is the new standard. you really don't really have many choices. it would be better to start a new build.

Im sick of all this Intel i7 hype. Heres some actual factual proof why intel i7 is not designed for gaming but designed for servers.

Intel i7+large L3 cache+extremely small L2 cache= not very good gaming performance.

Fact:games Utilize large L2 cache, thats why current dual core and quads are good.

IF you've got the money got for the new 920's so far, my Q6600 isn't really future proof when it's already been replaced with REAL QUAD CORES. So if I were you, and if you had the extra doe, go for the 920, X58, and DDR3 RAM. But if you are trying not to spend too much, go with the Q6600. It completely beats the E8500 when O/C'd and trust me everyone O/C's the shit out of it. 0/Cing can actually get you better CORE TEMPS, it did for me! xD

No you cant, 8800GTS only has one SLI connector, so only supports two cards running in SLI. It's on the 8800GTX and 8800 Ultra that supports Tri SLI. Any other Nvidia card can only run two in tandum.

go for the xfx nforce 780i, nad if u say moneyaint a problem, why dont u go go with a 3 way sli 8800 ultra system on the 780i? and if u stil havent got a cpu cooler, i recomend the asus silent square evo, it works like a charm to me and i hav an overclock of almost 1 ghz

90C yes...at stock speeds but u can use rivatuner to change fan speed i have mine at 69% and it never gets past 60C. And the 8800GT are made to run in heat so...its all good^^

90C...sounds bad but I had my old 8800GTS running constantly at 90C and it worked for over a year and then it juss broke xD... I could smell the thermal paste burning. But now I built a new system with way better cooling and with the new 8800GTS I don't ever get above 75C while gaming.
