Ali, appeared on Australian TV with Daniel Piper [ from a ''Washington Think Tank'' ] just before the US went into Iraq, they discussed the US rational and likely out comes , Tariqs' appraisal and forcasted outcomes of the situation Mr Piper scorned.However time has shown Tarqs' pedictions were very accurate. particularly regarding the diffuculties the US would encounter exiting the place.

I saw him speak recently in Liverpool, and although I disagreed with some aspects of his anaylsis of recent economic events, I found his appraisal of Pakistans situation extraordinarily illuminating.
