The 360 might load the games faster, but because the PS3 uses Blu-ray your discs they are likely to last FAR longer due to the fact they are ALMOST scratch proof.
10 years from now it will be very hard to find 360 games that are not scratched, where as MOST PS3 games SHOULD still work fine.

Xbox, has a longer start up, the reason is is because it loads in more processes to help it do things quicker. The lag that you see on the Xbox is there because it loads more information faster than the PS3. Also, most games nowadays have been configured for the Xbox first, and then are ported over to the PS3, and programmers won't spend as much time optimizing the PS3 version.

He said that the ps3 was better at pure math(which gave it a presence in the distributed computing market), and that some games came with higher definition textures due to the bluray disc being it's standard and not the dvd dl.
So, i'm going to have to say for all gaming purposes the 360 is superior.
He also said that the 360 graphics are generally superior because the graphics card can make use of the whole 512mb of shared memory whereas the ps3's is limited to its dedicated 256mb. Also due to the nature of how certain arrays of data are arranged in memory, significant amounts of memory were being wasted in the ps3, as they had to keep the same data in both the graphics cards memory and the system's general memory, effectively doubling memory usage.
I went to an EA games developer talk in Waterloo, where a senior EA programmer said that the 360 was the superior platform to develop in. He said that the theoretical performance of the ps3 was greater than the 360, but it suffered memory and graphical pipeline issues which added specific runtime constraints that made it slower in practice.
Just a hunch, and it may be totally wrong, but I'd suspect that it's because it's Blu-Ray vs. DVD format more than anything else. For instance, you pop in a DVD in a regular DVD player, there's little to no load time. You pop a Blu-Ray into a regular Blu-Ray player, there's tons of load time. I know that this fails to take several variables into consideration, but I would still blame disc format for the discrepancy far more than I would any other element of the system specs. Again, just a hunch.
@pacman1866 Id say it takes longer to load because the ps3 games are all ported from the xbox360 to the ps3. in other words = the games are made on the 360 first then they are imported cheep to the ps3 thats why! look it up. it has nothing to do with graphics and size of the disc for a start all multi platform games are made on the 360 1st and will play better on the original system, but if the games were made on the ps3 first they would be better than the 360.

He said that the cell architecture is extremely better at parallel tasks but not everything that needs to be done in runtime is possible to be done in parallel.
He said that the ps3 was better at pure math(which gave it a presence in the distributed computing market), and that some games came with higher definition textures due to the bluray disc being it's standard and not the dvd dl.
So, i'm going to have to say for all gaming purposes the 360 is superior.

He also said that the 360 graphics are generally superior because the graphics card can make use of the whole 512mb of shared memory whereas the ps3's is limited to its dedicated 256mb. Also due to the nature of how certain arrays of data are arranged in memory, significant amounts of memory were being wasted in the ps3, as they had to keep the same data in both the graphics cards memory and the system's general memory, effectively doubling memory usage.

I went to an EA games developer talk in Waterloo, where a senior EA programmer said that the 360 was the superior platform to develop in. He said that the theoretical performance of the ps3 was greater than the 360, but it suffered memory and graphical pipeline issues which added specific runtime constraints that made it slower in practice.

Just a hunch, and it may be totally wrong, but I'd suspect that it's because it's Blu-Ray vs. DVD format more than anything else. For instance, you pop in a DVD in a regular DVD player, there's little to no load time. You pop a Blu-Ray into a regular Blu-Ray player, there's tons of load time. I know that this fails to take several variables into consideration, but I would still blame disc format for the discrepancy far more than I would any other element of the system specs. Again, just a hunch.

@pacman1866 Id say it takes longer to load because the ps3 games are all ported from the xbox360 to the ps3. in other words = the games are made on the 360 first then they are imported cheep to the ps3 thats why! look it up. it has nothing to do with graphics and size of the disc for a start all multi platform games are made on the 360 1st and will play better on the original system, but if the games were made on the ps3 first they would be better than the 360.

Xbox 360 online is put together much better then PS3 and you pay for better service.
Xbox has fixed the RROD problems with there newer slim console. Also I guess you have never heard of the YLOD, where the PS3 over heats just the same as the old 360's.
Decision What people likes for them self NOT what you or anyone else tells them to like.
Who got an Xbox just likes xbox, it's not your place to tell anyone what to like so that just makes you dumb for saying that.
