  • I've additionally owned this camera. The camera has a all right quality at bright light conditions. Its great outside, but if your cousins wedding, it goes all fuzzy. The point of this camera, is for home videos. Videos for when you go on holiday etc. and just for those budget camera, to only record your best family moments. The new camera that I will be getting will be much better. And have a better quality, plus a professionally look

  • How do u edit your clips?

  • Can you run this camera off the power adapter? In case you need to record longer than the 2 hours the battery can last.

  • @knchen : yes, you can run it off the adapter.

  • Ok. So if you always look for a good light spot the quality seems to be always cool :)

  • its poor quality in low light levels (i.e indoors on a cloudy day)

and yes the sound is terrible. Doesnt pick up from very far and has an annoying buzzing.

My main problem is with uploading video's. I tried it and any format i put it into just comes up with a black screen which plays.

    Help!

  • Ahahahha 5€ more ok!But my total was 104€ with the shipping ^^.

    I WIN PNWD xD ahah

  • I bouth it 2 days ago and it locks when i record in outdoors the battery gives me some strange problems with the charging.ill rerurn it and get a new camera for about 300-400€. and forgot all this cheapy crap

  • It's a cheap camera, with a tiny sensor that produces lots of noise under low light and uses a fairly agressive compression unsuitable for randomly moving scenes (water flowing, for example). Other than that, it works really nice and I've had zero problems using it. I still think it's probably the best budget FullHD camera you can get right now for ocasional use.

  • Besides, it's the only HD camera I've found that actually fits in my pocket.

  • Are you from Barcelona? xD

Btw i get mine today while the day the quality is very good not impresive but for 94 euro this camera rocks night sences the quality is not very bad but nothing good (beter tha my Samsung Jet damn lagger)

Tomorrow ill test it mmore outdoor and the wiken try if i can record something at 720p with the stabilaizer because i am gonna record a paintball match and i nee to move a lot of out there and it is not good for the final quality.

And of course great video man!

  • Yes, I'm from Barcelona. How did you know? X'D

I don't record at anything other than 1080p. I tried the stabilizer, but I don't think it does any good. In my opinion it just turns constant small motion into sudden not-so-constant jumps.

Besides, sharpness goes down the toilet at 720p. I've tried recording the same scene twice: one at 720p and another 1080p. Downsampling the 1080p version to 720p in a computer produces significantly sharper images.

  • @kopele578 94 euro??

Here in Belgium we pay 99 euro!

    xD

  • is it me or is this camera kinda laggy on HD ?

  • you mean you can hear the bike before it appears on screen? That's how it should be, actually. I was on a bridge right above the road. The bike is closer to the camera's mic when it goes under the bridge. Then it has about 100 meters to go before it enters the area the camera is looking at. So, the delayed audio is no mistake.

  • no i mean that it doesnt play very smoothly, its like there are some frames missing sometimes.

  • plays smoothly in my computer, except for the part recorded in "nightmode".

  • problem might be with youtube then. The cam looks awesome and makes good quality vids, ill probably buy it, just wanted to know this.

How much megabytes does the HD take up btw like for example for this vid?

  • 1080p takes up about 4 Gbs/Hour. I haven't tested battery performance, but I doubt you can get more than 1 hour from a full charge. Anyway, I bought an 8 Gb SD card just to be safe. This should give me roughtly 2 hours and a half. Video is H264, audio is 128 kbit stereo AAC, container format is Quicktime MOV.

  • @Redraptorxx It is laggy in HD and FULL HD when you zoom in/out

  • good video,bad audio...

  • Great test. I'm so happy with this cam. I think also that "night scene" setting is, in general, not so useful.. if you film the night it must be NIGHT, so you have to see only lighted places and the rest must be black. Same with zoom.. 4x is enough: the weight of this cam is so little that you must have an extremely steady hand. Since it's not alway possible.. i think this cam works great as it is.

  • I'd really like to see this camera record the night sky out of a window, with the stars and stuff, because I want to know if it could cope with that kind of light.

If you could, do you reckon you could do a recording and tell me, or even upload one?

    Thanks in advance

  • I tried to record the sky at night. It was not too dark and there were lots of stars, but all I got was two minutes of solid black video.

  • Ok, thanks.

  • Thanks for the useful info. Just bought one of these and am still trying to get my head round how to best use it. Can you advise what software can be used to edit clips while keeping it at 1080p resolution? Thanks again.

  • I use either kdenlive or blender, depending what sort of editing I plan to do. Kdenlive is linux-only as far as I can tell. Blender is available for Win & Mac too.

  • hello. i just bought this camera. could you possible tell me the setting you used for each? the manual it came with kindof is useless.

  • I don't remember exactly... but... I allways record in HD1080 mode. That's the only mode at which the camera produces a sharp picture. I turn off the stabilizer, too. It only makes things worse. Other than that, I just used "night" scene mode for the last shot and "auto" for the others.

Just for reference, the useful scene modes are: auto (obvious), skin (makes colors a bit warmer), night (desperately tries to capture more light), backlight (turns exposure metering to a center weight mode).
