  • anyone went to find out more about them after they saw the movie??? cause i sure did

  • Going to see them live FEB 08th Rock on Guys!!

  • band blows

  • Super touching. Profoundly Canadian. As far as music docs go... wait, docs... no, movies in general. This is as good as it gets.

  • No matter how hard it gets, there's always a way ... #Anvil - Moment doudouz du lundi soir.

  • watched this last night and this is a truly inspiring movie, it's is so amazing that they have dedicated themselves to this band even though they got nowhere with it until the last few years. Rock on Anvil

  • @thegreendragoninn i sure am

  • Great movie, great band

  • @Troypowercock And you sir are a really bad troll. Jump off a building. I rest my case.

  • As a kid I remember buying the debut albums by Anthrax and Metallica and Anvil's - Metal on Metal - all within a few weeks of each other and based on the artwork alone . I , and Kerrang magazine soon forgot about the band in favour of "The Big Four" - although they did drop off the radar - I'm so glad they're back - and what a heartwarming film

  • so much passion, so true! the soundtrack of a real musician life!

  • The greatest band in the fucking world? ANVIL! They deserve a FUCKING MONUMENT! And yes, i'm making this coment after watching this dvd, and yes i'm fucking crying. I'm just 17 years old, i live in Venezuela, and i really love ANVIL!

    KEEP ON ROCKING!

This fucking movie is a symbol for Perseverance.

  • The Pain - O My God The Pain!

  • This documentary was shortly after another documentary that featured an equally obscure metal band called RIPHOUSE 151: Couldn've Been's & Wanna Be's, which in my opinion is far superior.

There is a link to watch the film for free on the trailer video.

  • the best movie man, great history

  • After i watched this movie i went out and bought juggernaut of justice, Best CD i ever got, I'm happy to see that Things finally worked out for them.

  • i like justin beiber

  • oh fuck i'm crying...this is what's all about man...in life, in music...My new idols!!

  • Great Canadian group, conjunction with Helix, Anvil have always been coherent with themselves, from 1981 to 1992 have produced great albums, funny, sad, mysterious, but always, great heavy metal album. Strength of Steel, Worth the Weight, Pound for Pound, for me are the best works.

  • Un super film sur un super groupe qui n'a pas eu la carrière qu'il méritait.. A voir absolument si vous êtes amateur de Metal..

  • has anyone figured out the song from 2:03-2:33

  • after watching this movie, i just wanted to give lips a hug. 3 days later, went to a saxon + anvil concert. at the exit after the concert, lips stood there just signing shit for free. so i gave him a hug :)

  • People who aren't in bands can never understand the brotherhood, dedication and overall friendship that goes into it. This film hit very close to home for me. Loved it.

  • I've just seen it and it's the BEST Rockumentation i've seen so far!

  • Riot and Manilla Road deserve a movie like this too.

  • greatest documentary ever made in the whole world...

  • i'm sorry but anvil opened for ac/dc a few years ago and they were pretty gosh darn awful, i never really looked into their music otherwise so i can't say for certain that "they suck" or anything, but they didn't impress me

  • Just saw ANVIL in Chicago and they were great!

  • i almost cry twice while watching this movie

  • Damnit, even the trailer for this gets me a little choked up and brings a tear to my eye.

  • This was a great documentary about amazing band. Such a passion a positive attitude no matter what. They keep pushing on. Never give up you dreams! I will go watch this band when they play at Helsinki on december 2011! Anvil rules!

  • @filmokratik They're coming here!? Damn! Gotta get tickets!

  • Two things made this Doc great, the band believes in their music unequivocally, and the director had the dual advantages of being a screenwriter AND Anvil's former roadie.

So THIS IS ANVIL is a great deal more like watching a movie - it has a well-structured story line and captivating drama. You can't fake something this good.

  • This movie is one of my favorites because it not only shows how hard it is to make it big, but how hard it is to make it big when your over 50 years old, have no money, and can't find a place to play. By the way, I have this DVD autographed by Rob and Lips.

  • I just watched this and it was the first time I cried while watching a movie.

  • @kalma5003 oh yeah so close i was balling real hard when lips was cryin sorry to spoil for everyone

  • @kalma5003 same with me dude

I had tears in my eyes while watching this awesome movie

  • @kalma5003 me too! I felt so sorry for them

  • whats the name of the song at 1:34 please! those tragic violins =)

  • Watched it 2nd time today. Best docunent ever. They deserve the fame!

  • it was funny

  • i took a biiig biiig shit on filmsi.co.cc.co and I really really enjoyed it. Im definately going to do it again! Thanks guys!

  • what is the name of the song at 0:09 please!!!

  • @Deathmetalviolonist Metal on Metal I believe

  • @dhaka691 stop it with the not so cleverly disguised website advertising.. who wants to stream a film on flimsy.xn.fgh.co.rh.dhdi when we've got the pirate bay?

  • Fantastic document, these guys never got what they deserved.

  • Spinal tap?

  • there is so much goddamn spam on this video's comment but on a different note, does anyone know the name of the song that plays at the end?

  • I cried my fucking eyes out when I saw this movie. Their story is just so full of passion and brotherly love and dedication that you just can't help but cry and feel for these guys. These guys are metal. They're the definition of the word, the genre. Again, I cried my motherfucking eyes out when I saw this movie. Manly tears. For Lipps and Rob. Rock on brothers!! :')

  • THAT`S MOTHERFUCKING IT YOUTUBE THAT`S MOTERHFUCKING IT!!!!!!!!

ADVERTISEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING CLIP!!!!: AM I WATCHING TV NOW OR WHAT?

  • Just seen the documentary on Belgian TV...they deserve all of or support, simply because those guy's follow there heart. Intense respect!!!

  • this is spinal tap in real life.

  • @queenzxl its perfect

  • can anyone tell me what's the name of the song from the end of the documentary?

  • this band was always in the back of my head as I'm from Toronto too so it came up in the odd conversation but it wasnt until That metal show recommended it that I checked it out, its really honest and like everyone said very likable guys so even if you dont like the music its worth the watch. Not every band can be famous , there's lots of obscure bands that are amazing out there that some of us would love to show the world like the guy who did this documentary .

  • this is by far my favorite documentary ever. this is captures what rock and roll is really about. Its not about sex, drugs and money. Its about staying true to yourself, never giving up, making huge sacrifices and believing you can achieve anything. Pure love and dedication to music

  • what song at 2:05?

  • @kingkongpoti1122 Which film? This came out in 2008 or 2009,

  • I really enjoyed this documentary and not just because I'm from Toronto too, but in all honesty going through the last two cds they've put out Juggernaut Of Justice and This is thirteen in all honesty the songs aren't catchy enough. The vocals take time to grow on you but everything else sounds great don't get me wrong, I'm a motorhead fan and seems I listen to a lot of the same bands but yeah, when the cds over I can't remember much

catchy and addictive guitar parts and lyrics are the #1 goal.

  • this is the best movie next to when your strange

  • I really hope that they're doing better

  • What is the name of the song that starts playing at about 2:03 I have only just come across this?

  • 1:46 Anvil at Stone'enge XD

They 're really the real Spinal Tap!!!

  • @MurderMelon666 You know the Spinal Tap stonehenge thing was a parody of something that actually happened in Gillan era Sabbath

  • i got to know anvil as a kid and i loved them - then they disapeared from the screens...they should have engaged a good management 30 years earlier and they would have become BIG long time ago. on the other hand we wouldnt have that amazing movie and they wouldnt have experienced this wonderful friendship without fame and money. im glad they finally made it - they deserve it!

  • I see that and I can say its a very very good movie about Anvil!! just great!!

  • Great Movie! Just a question, how is called the song that appeared in the beginning?

  • I have been a musician all my life. This movie made me cry. These guys were trying to make it when Canadian bands just didnt make it. There was some kind of fuckin curse....bands like Max Webster, Goddo, Anvil, just couldnt make it in the US.....for some fuckin reason. It was a combination of bad management etc. These guys are very talented musicians. Like Lemmy said....their were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • just watched the movie.its good hail to anvil \m/

  • @Rabiakhan787 fuck you, and your shitty fake website.

  • @ThePlinsko Trust me. This is as great as Spinal Tap but it's all real. You won't be disappointed.

  • @ohok420a This isn't a 3D movie. :)

  • is that avalable in german??

  • What song is in 2:04?

  • DE-JA-VU, Seen before... KOHU-63 in America is original tour document of Finnish HC-punk band. Check that and YOU understand.

  • fuck anvil. they never made it because they have always fucking sucked. true bands have made it but anvil didn't, because they fucking SUCK11!!!!

  • What's that song's name on 2:04?

  • so if they cant earn money from playing how about finding a normal job like other people do.

  • oh yeah reiner rules though

  • This movie was anything but depressing. It's about the journey not the end result. These guys may never "make it big" but they are going to keep trying. They obviously just love what they do, and they have more passion than most bands who "make it big". Sure they have to work regular jobs like the rest of us to make ends meet, but you can't deny their influence and never say die spirit. Keep on rockin' Steve and Robb.

  • I just saw this on the Tv. I am not into metal but these guys are so likeable. They looked so happy when back in Tokyo.

  • SO DO ANVIL MAKE IT?

  • I never heard of this band until someone told me I looked like one of the guys in it. Anvil: Buried deep in the "Where are they now?" file.

  • FUCKIN EH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/

  • I don't believe Lemmy, I doubt if he even knew the band...

  • this movie kicked ass i was balling my eyes when steve was telling rob he loves him

  • in the name of the anvil and of the son and the holy shit amen

  • Super documentaire, bravo !!!

    :-)

  • I just bought a ticket to see them play this coming Friday.

  • Just watched this movie on Netflix yesterday. Dude!, I thought it was a just a mockumentary movie, like Spinal Tap. Halfway through realized it was a real Band. An Interesting movie though.

  • scorpions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

  • Loved this movie. I'm gonna buy the new Anvil album and help support these loveable fellas. METAL!!!! ANVIL!!!! Anyone who has ever been in a band at any success level will love this film. Definitely one of my newer favorite documentaries. I love the message of following your dreams even if they don't bring you fame or fortune. Great great movie.

  • Saw this movie on TV a while ago. It made me really depressed.

  • LOVE THIS GUYS !!!

  • going to watch the movie on Netflix right now!

  • This was a great movie. Really worth watching, does it have a happy ending? What struck me is that all of these guys like Lars, Lemmy and Slash and all the others that tell us just how great they are never once offered to take them on a tour as an opening act. Just remember this movie was years after Spinal Tap. Life does indeed imitate art.

  • goin to see them on graspop in a week :D

  • This doccumentary was depressing

  • The film WAS great

  • Thank god i watched this before This Is Spinal Tap....

  • This is Life.. This is Rock and Roll... Long Live ANVIL!!!

  • ¡Fuck! i hate so much that one motherfucker got fampus in 1 year and this mens still trying to be famous and make the world recognize the excellent work they had done!.

This 2 men are a true example of dedication and "don't giveup - ism" .

The smile tha kadlow put at the end of the documentary, when they are playing in front of thousands of people, thas inspiring men... really it is!

  • I'm seeing them live this summer :D

    Gothenburg Metaltown forever <3

  • what i really like is VH1 has been playing nothing but a shit load of reality shows but they managed to give a documentary on their channel to an old metal band of all things. I wish these guys luck and hope they get the respect they always wanted.

  • Just watched this movie last night and I can tell you with all honesty it is the best documentary I've seen in a long time. What I don't understand, you got musicians like Lemmy, Slash, Lars and others in the movie saying Anvil had a big influence on heavy metal, but you don't see or hear about Anvil opening up for bands like Metallica, Motorhead, Velvet Revolver. Why not? I'm sure the guys in Anvil would love to get the exposure touring with such great bands.

  • Just watched this last night and man, these guys are down to earth guys. The Manager just fucks up on them so bad when touring and I got pissed and felt bad for Lipps and Robb when that fag didnt want to pay them because they got lost and got to the show late. Overall, a really amazing documentary!

  • @CodeIamx guess im not the only one who was inspired by this story. i think they don't get enough credit.

  • This movie made me cry, and it made me believe in chasing my dreams again.

  • Anyone know the song that starts at 2:04 ?

  • can anyone tell me what the fuck that intro song was . . . please!!!

  • @blahwoozle that song calls the playing with your sister the cat an mouse feat (tigres del norte)

  • my brothers band, fatality chilled with these guys in their hotel the other day. pretty wicked

  • This is a great documentary!! And I'm not even a fan of metal but loved their story.

  • anvil>scorpions,whitesnake>bon jovi

  • I still get chill whenever I see this trailer.

  • @mouloudo yeah.. Sounds like it.

  • For those who have watched.. Does anyone know the Piano theme when Lips visited the japanese temple and during the credits as well. Thanks!

  • @TheExopolitics sounds like an extension of " merry christmas mr lawrence"

  • @TheExopolitics I thought too it was "merry christmas mr lawrence" it sounds like very close but it wasn't, in fact this is "David Norland - The Garden"

  • @DJmidniiight Thanks!

  • Song at 2:04 is from Dannel Vonn Dillon, is called Amongst the Shadows and can be downloaded on his "ilike" profile (google can help you out there)

I found little to no information about him but apparently his music is free.

Also despite me not being a huge fan of Anvil, this documentary seems damn awesome, going to have to watch it.

  • Guys whats the song on 2:06?

  • Hehehehe i have the same mouse in my pc as Lips :P This mouse now its on my most favourite belongings :D \m/

  • of all the people who did make it big, why don't they pay respect to these guys, what would it be for slash, lemmy metallica, and others to cut them a check each for 50 grand, instead of paying this for furniture for there new house, help these guys out for what they did for metal, i would be so embarrassed to be on here saying how great they are meanwhile, having millions in there bank accounts, fucking human greed, wake up people

  • @vanhalen515084 Okay, so you're pissed because famous musicians are famous, they're giving recognition to the small bands, but because they didn't give $50,000 of their OWN money, they're greedy. I'm not after a flame war or anything, but you do realize how ignorant your comment is right?

  • @Z4kk3h Aerosmith should really help them- they were fucked by their management.

  • Comment removed

  • @vanhalen515084 Well Motorhead did a tour with them but then again Lemmy is awesome. I think all the bands that say how great they are should tour with them. Imagine the exposure Anvil could get by supporting Metallica but i don't think there's enough money in that for Lars to go for it.

  • @vanhalen515084 Saxon and AC/DC are helping them by having them as their opening act but

    i agree with you.

  • Thumbs up for In Flames at 1:01

  • @metalist4e5 thumbs down

  • i want to see it too :(

i discovered this now :/, italy sucks too much in this things....neighter know they did a movie :( ... where i can find it ?

  • what's this song? 2:03

  • And now Thrum The Movie

  • looks interesting and original

  • Every fans of rock music should see this movie... That is, of course, if they are not already busy to watch Metallica's "Some kind of monster" ^^

  • Its so sad, no band has ever been fucked over more than anvil and this movie teaches you far more then music, It teaches you that no matter how many times you get knocked down you get right back up and never say die! I really Love this movie!

  • Gods of Rock. provide Anvil with one hit single after all these years!

  • this movie shouldve won an oscar or something...such a beautiful masterpiece.

  • saw this guys,, came to the restaurant where i work .. it was a great pleasure to see them

  • Best documentary i've seen, period.

Lips is one of the most genuine people ever recorded, and there is noone I wish happiness to more than him.

Moving and hearth-touching story about best friends that never quite made it.

  • How many Anvil in the world??

  • I can't stand Heavy Metal but now I'm a big fan..of these guys!

    Rock on!!

  • ive seen it.. im not metal fan at all.. but this documentary is fucking brilliant

  • A really good documentary!!! about music and passion of music!!!

  • @TheHolyOutlaw Both of your reasons where in the trailer. stupid MF

  • This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen, anyone who is passionate about something should watch this.

  • I have their Metal on Metal record hanged up on my wall right now \m/
