@cpfan110 Basicly Yes. MrUltraMonster should have deleted the original sounds, edited the video and not show the full fight scene in order to avoid copyright infridgement. @ultragarrison Copyright thing has gotten so out of hand. Without any clips there would be a lot less fans. Though you can thank all the morons who violate it and when it is licensed never buy it. MY FAVOURITE ULRAMAN LIST ULTRA FATHER ULTRAMAN KING ULTRAMAN MEBUIS ULTRAMAN TARO ULTRAMAN ZOFFY ULTRAMAN POWERED ULTRAMAN ZERO ULTRAMAN JACK UTRAMAN ACE ULTRAMAN SEVEN ULTRAMAN DYNA ULTRAMAN TIGA ULTRA MOTHER
I always figured Ultraman Powered was a remake of the original 1966 ultraman episodes, or at least some of the episodes. Did Ultrama JAck really shout out his attacks like that?? lol he's just tossing the monster and he has to shout out his attack? reminds me of dragonball.
Powered was an American Adaptation of Ultraman, lasting only thirteen episodes. All those episodes were centered around the very "best" episodes of the original Ultraman, just with some plot changes.
Powered had quite a negative backlash against him because the action his show was mediocre due to the suits being easily damageable.
For me, Powered is one of my favorite Ultra Series'. Not because of the action, but because of the characters, plot and good messages in it.
@barraki92 so its like a remake then? Ya i remember the action being quite tame. Though the monsters and Ultraman himself is my favorite looking of all, their fighting consisted of just shuffling and shoving each other about. You're right though. The characters did have great chemistry and some of the episodes, like "A Father's Love" had a very emotionally engaging plot.
I'm sure a more experienced director and bigger budget would have helped.
Yes, Powered was essentially an American Remake of the original Ultraman series. The series would've been much more well recieved if the suits weren't so easily damagable, which caused the action to be mediocre at times.
The best episodes of Ultraman Powered were undoubtedly the renditions focusing on Jamila, the Dada and the final two episodes.
"A Father's Love" was the remake of the Jamila episode, where even in the Original Series Jamila is shown as a tragic figure.
@barraki92 if the suits were cast sculpted, improper heating and cooling during the molding process as well as moisture presence would make it fragile. The only way there would be improper heating and cooling is if the crew was on a tight schedule and needed to rush the costumes for shooting.
Jamila's origins were changed from Ultraman to Powered, but only to a minimal extent. In the original, he was a mutated astronaut seeking vengeance on the world that "abandoned" him. His mutation along with his thoughts before death about how his country sent him on a mission that cost him his humanity and his entire crew drove him insane. Jamila's death in the original series is one of the few monster deaths given sympathy, the others being Jiras and Pygmon/Pigmon.
In Powered, Jamila's mutation was not immediate. His body was undergoing a forced evolution, and he didn't have long before he turned into a monster permanently. He personally narrates his regrets that he has to leave his wife and child, he knew something changed within him once he came back from an apparent suicide mission where he was massively irridiated. He left his wife and child almost as soon as he came back because he feared his transformation would endanger them.
That was a minor difference in Jamila's origins, in the original series he came back to Earth as a monster seeking revenge. In Powered, he came back to Earth aware of his gradual mutation and isolated himself from his family to prevent harm to them.
The most touching line of the episode is where he narrates to his wife in the beginning of the episode to tell his daughter that "Daddy didn't want to go."
He would later return with only minimal control over his mutation.
Jamila's daughter had faith that her father would return to her one day, however, corrupt government agents planned to use Jamila's mutation to their own ends. The only way to get Jamila out in the open was to kidnap his daughter, in which he grew angry and quickly transformed into a hulking beast.
Agent Young, one of the female officers of WINR was quick to defy her leader Commander Edlund when he brought up the topic of destroying Jamila.
Doctor Young argued that Jamila was no different from Ultraman, a mysterious alien figure that no one knew anything about. Her best arguement was that the only reason Jamila was considered a threat was because he had no adversary to fight, unlike whenever Ultraman appeared.
When Powered fought Jamila for the last time, the tragic figure let Powered finish him off so he would not hurt anyone, lest his daughter, in his uncontrollable rage.
@barraki92 hmm, wonderful analysis there. Yes they arent much different except that Kai could control his transformation into Ultraman. I re-watched the original 60s Ultraman Jamila episode(got defeated by water?). I still think the whole father/daughter bit is more emotionally touching than the original one. I dont know if its a mispronounciation but in Ultraman powered, they changed the name to "Jamera"
@Xamtaro Hmmmm.......yeap Jamera is jamila. But i have to admit, some of Ultraman Powered episodes are even better than the original Ultraman due to its serious story lines and twists. But too bad, thx to fragile costumes, Ultraman Powered was a fail.
I don't consider Ultraman Powered to be as horrible as people say, or even a failure on that matter. I thought it was a respectable series actually, serious storylines, character development and plot twists made it worth watching. Some of the action was mediocre at times, but the times when the action was at its best was with the episodes involving Jamila, the Dada, Aboras and Banila and the final two episodes.
@ultragarrison well nothing a little re-shooting wont fix. Actually, i realise that if you use some software to tweak the speed and sound effects, ad a few flashes, the fight scenes will look a lot better.
Good news! The shipments I was waiting for came in!
My list of Ultramen is rather short, because I have seen only three Ultra Series so far.
I guess it would go like this so far, based on the series I have watched.
1) Ultraman Powered
2) Ultraman Tiga
3) Ultraman
I might have to rearrange that list if I like Zearth, Great or The Next a bit more though. And yes, I know The Next eventually becomes Ultraman Nexus, whose Series I will order in due time.
I can't really say I have top ten list, since I've only seen Ultraman, Powered and Tiga in action. My shipment of Ultraman Great, Zearth and The Next just came in, so they might need to be place higher or lower depending on how I like them.
Here is my list so far, judging by the three I've seen.
1) Ultraman Tiga (Powered was REALLY close to Number 1)
2) Ultraman Powered
3) Ultraman
And yes, I know The Next eventually turns into Ultraman Nexus. Alot of people tell me.
Every host can control their transformation into an Ultraman. Hayata was able to through the Beta Capsule, and Kai was able to through the Flash Prism. As long as the host has some method of transformation, they can always control their Ultraman.
The humans from Ultraman: The Adventure Begins however, did NOT transform with some sort of object. They transformed into their Ultra Warriors through sheer will power when they were in life threatning danger. An interesting concept, no?
Further talking about "fakes", wouldn't the Dada in Powered be "fakes" too? Considering in the original Ultraman Series they were a malevolent alien race, and in Powered they were a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence.
I'm not sure if the Zetton's that appeared in Max or Mebius were "real" or "fake" Zettons either, sense if I have not seen either respective show.
Though, in all contrast I guess the Zetton in Ultraman Powered could be called a "fake" Zetton, due to the fact that every "real" Zetton is made-up out of Zettonians. The one in Powered was the Baltan's ultimate bio-weapon to destroy Ultraman after the annihalation of their previos bio-weapon, Dorako. I guess that Dorako would be a "fake" as well, considering the original was an original alien sentient.
The Zetton that Ultraman Jack fought was not "fake." It was the ORIGINAL Zetton brought back to life to defeat Jack. At the current time, Ultramen (as in the entire race), had a profound fear of the Zetton Race due to the defeat of the original Ultraman years beforehand. When Jack destroyed the reincarnated cockroach alien, it eliviated the Ultramen race of their fears. Jack proved that an Ultraman COULD defeat a Zetton, as he was the first Ultraman to ever do so.
I wouldn't nesscarly call them fake Zettons...probably just weaker versions of the same monster. It would be like calling all other Red Kings as "fake red kings".
@ultragarrison If the Zettons are all indeed bio weapons, then even the one the original Ultraman fought could be called a "Fake". Main reason why Ultraman lost to Zetton was because he didn't try anything new, just his usual attacks, and that they also wanted to end the show and bring in Ultraseven. However in 1996 they compiled footage from the original series to give the original a rematch against another Zetton, this time with the original winning. It was called, REVIVE! Ultraman!
@transformersforever Not really. The reason why it is not fake is because Zetton was made by the Zettoninans. 1996 compilation film is also canon. But they are all the same zetton.
@ultragarrison Yeah Revive! Ultraman is canon last I read, and it is Ultraman vs. Zetton 2, but my grasp of the japanese language isn't the greatest: does Revive! Ultraman's beginning narration give any reason at all as to WHY Ultraman recombined with Hayata? Hayata was healed and restored by Zoffy so there is no medical reason for them to be merged.
Huh. I didn't know REVIVE Ultraman was canonical. Good to know the original Ultraman, sometimes just called Man, Shodai Ultraman, First Ultraman or Ultraman Hayata; got some payback for what happened to him in Episode 39 of his series.
Ultraman, Jack, Zetton, Max and Mebius all defeated some form of Zetton. Jack was the first Ultraman to ever defeat a Zetton, erasing the fears Ultra's had about Zettons. Powered's Zetton was a perfected Baltan Bio Weapon.
I'm not sure if the Zettons in Max or Mebius were made up of Zettonians, so I don't know if they were "Real" or not.
I'm not sure if any other UItra destroyed a Zetton besides Ultraman, Jack, Powered, Max or Mebius. If anyone knows, being informed would be of great assistance. Then again, some Ultra's conquered opponents far beyond Zetton. Ultraman Nexus/Noa with Dark Zagi, Tiga with Gatanozoa, Taro with Tyrant, Mebius with Empera.
hey you say the one in ultraman powered was a fake zetton but that zetton owned ultraman powered i mean ultraman powered totally ran outta gas is that a pretty powerful fake? or was it cause of dorako's power? or is powered erm weak?
Well the Zetton that Ultraman Powered fought was created by the Baltan. If i am not wrong, Zetton was first created by the zettonians. So the Zetton that Ultraman powered fought was fake.
another thing would be that the head of ultraman powered's zetton is wider...yea..agree with u...but its kinda sad gaia, tiga and cosmos arent in the movie though
not really, its supposed to mean that he's rjunning out of time, the info abt the red eyes part meaning angry was uncited while mine was from official sources.
Quikt true. But Tsuburaya Production gave an official statement that the eyes meant that powered is angry. But no matter what it is still pointless for us to debate for a failed series which is Ultraman Powered.

hey you say the one in ultraman powered was a fake zetton but that zetton owned ultraman powered i mean ultraman powered totally ran outta gas is that a pretty powerful fake? or was it cause of dorako's power? or is powered erm weak?
bluezgoldz 2 years ago
Well the Zetton that Ultraman Powered fought was created by the Baltan. If i am not wrong, Zetton was first created by the zettonians. So the Zetton that Ultraman powered fought was fake.
ultragarrison 2 years ago

ultragarrison 2 years ago
the difference between powered and ultraman's zetton was that the zetton in powered opened its wings( i suppose?)
destinymaple 2 years ago
Beats me as well. They fucked the whole series with ultraman powered. But it still would be good to see him back in the latest movie.
ultragarrison 2 years ago
another thing would be that the head of ultraman powered's zetton is wider...yea..agree with u...but its kinda sad gaia, tiga and cosmos arent in the movie though
destinymaple 2 years ago
ultraman the ultimate hero was english right
xkikimex 2 years ago
yeah
ultragarrison 2 years ago
seriously...i like ultraman powered..i mean the design and the whole red eye thing.....it would be fantastic if powered were to return...
rasengan456321 2 years ago
Note that Powered's Zetton has the nicest body but the lamest fighting style.
Dyna7841 2 years ago
Exactly
ultragarrison 2 years ago
In other words if we use Powered Zetton with the personality of the original Zetton, we might have a killing machine there.
Dyna7841 2 years ago 2
notice at 0:51 powered's eyes are already red, then the next sec they're blue again
NexusM78 2 years ago
The red eyes means that powered is angry
ultragarrison 2 years ago
not really, its supposed to mean that he's rjunning out of time, the info abt the red eyes part meaning angry was uncited while mine was from official sources.
NexusM78 2 years ago
Quikt true. But Tsuburaya Production gave an official statement that the eyes meant that powered is angry. But no matter what it is still pointless for us to debate for a failed series which is Ultraman Powered.
ultragarrison 2 years ago
yeah yeah...powered could have been cool...no point cryin over spilt milk
NexusM78 2 years ago
seriously...i like ultraman powered..i mean the design and the whole red eye thing.....it would be fantastic if powered were to return...
rasengan456321 2 years ago
