I LOVE Citibank...but this commercial is ridiculous. So in a down economy, let's go out and purchase something practical like a weather balloon? Being that this is a bank commercial, how about advertising something a bit more practical and at the same time fun or even a sensible purchase? Seems a bit obnoxious, but I'm sure the hipsters "occupying" L.A. or N.Y. think this rocks even though it's "an evil bank" commercial.
cool idea, but this is most likely a fake experiment. how does an hot air ballon go into the atmosphere and come back down to somewhere close enough that you can find it by driving to it? let alone land not on ocean.

Then, even worse, they release this balloon that travels miles into the air, and probably hundreds of miles from where they launched it, and yet not only do they easily follow it, but it conveniently lands in a very uninhabited area, in a tree that is not too high, and where unlike in almost any logical reality, no one besides them finds it and makes off with the camera, and GPS. Total fantasy...much more unrealistic than even most other fantasy commercials.
And, if you see the guys house when he is "fulfilling his wish" in the beginning of the ad, it seems that if he really wanted a weather balloon, he could probably have afforded it before Chase gave him his dream.

This commercial is misleading and irresponsible. You can't just launch a weather balloon anywhere you want. What if it hits an airplane? Do you want to be responsible for an airplane crash? The FAA must clear all flights of this kind.
endless questions. is the guy asking or telling him about the weather balloon? if he doesn't already know about the weather balloon, why does he know about the points? is "yes I did" a comfortable sounding response to the question/statement? are weather balloons particularly difficult to obtain without points? If you wanted a weather balloon, why wouldn't you just buy it with money like anyone else? after achieving an outer space view the weather balloon manages to land in a nearby tree?
