Billy Shears,,,,,the last words...the Beatles fuse this name as a segue between St Peppers Club Band and the second song in their album,,"With a Little help from my friends"...it was another name for RINGO.....in that album.....
@NietzscheanMan He (George Hinchliffe) sings their cover of Orange Blossom Special (even though there's not much singing in that), and also sings part of their cover of Life on Mars.
And I haven't even mentioned their cover of the Shaft theme yet!

Am I the only one who thinks this is terrible? The original song captures the passion of the book. This version is upbeat and does away with any emotion that the song has. By making it a joke, they've ruined the song and pay no respect to the amazing literature that inspired it. Disgusting.
@Morgancer yet another pretentious...... person, who completely fails to understand what this group is about, or to have the faintest sense of humour.
The Smells Like Teen Spirit video takes the biscuit for stupid comments just like that.

Disastrous, they modified the masterpiece to some cheap entertainment and stripped it off any emotions. This should never even be compared to the original.
You gotta be kidding me? Mate.... you need a clear dose of 'LIGHTEN UP PAL' followed by 2 'WAKE UP IDIOT' in the morning, and top it off with 'GET A LIFE' in the evening.
You clearly do not have any appreciation for pure talent when you see it or hear it to make the comment you did .

@glassbrain I wonder how you deduced it. If this cover makes you laugh, well, congratulations, my sense of humour is a bit somewhere else than this, I guess.
@marczella4 Hey man, it's classy, clean, and in good taste. Good musicianship, as well. Calling it cheap entertainment is insulting to the work these people put into their music and shows.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@glassbrain I can appreciate the work and the skills but that's the way I see it, I made a comment with my point of view about it, that's all. I can't listen to a genius piece of work which is modified into something which in presumption is supposed to "swing" and be exactly as I called it first - a cheap, simple entartainment without any depth in it. Perhaps I could have appreciated it more if it was their own song, but not something so legendary and arousing so much emotions.
@marczella4 Interesting, I happen to find this version better than the original, which to me is a piece of involuntarily funny studenty pomp sung by a cackling hen dressed for a pantomime. The UOGB version sees it for what it is and turns it into an enjoyable and (voluntarily) funny song. Points of view!

@sistermicrowave It's obvious that different people have different points of view, I respect that but sadly not everyone in here does (greetings to glassbrain).

not hard to be better than Kate Bush but still...FREAKING BLOWS HER OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH! I mean combining the song with Jazz is just freakin' genius :') Long live UOGB!
@DarthVulva Ehm...no -.- this is coming from a person who combined Star Wars and Female Genitalia (Ironic that the two never go together anywhere else...) to produce their name....XD
@RUDYNATACHA I wouldn't say that, she is quite famous. Anyway, if they didn't know who she was, or hadn't heard the original, they wouldn't get the humour.
@athull08 I was thinking about this song today and it reminds me of a Three Stooges song (about them, not by them) that went, "Hey, Moe, hey Moe! Well, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck! " It's echoed too, a la "Heathcliff!"
if I have a bad day I simply put this clip on and laugh. I think they are playing in Hamilton NZ at the Founders Theatre this month. Will hopefully, get to see them live! Come back Heeeaaatttthhhcllllifff !!!

piedpiperpianos, the last line is from The Beatles, Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band when they introduce "the act you've known for all these years...Billy Shears"
@piedpiperpianos I'd probably guess it was David who said that. In the camera shot at 2:34, nobody's lips are moving, so it's not any of them, which just leaves David and Jonty, and I think it sounds more like David, but I'm not certain.
