@InsteadInstead Common misconception that the fox is ripped apart. Either the neck or chest is crushed in moments. Bullets allow wounded animals to crawl of and die of gangrene somewhere, much more painful. Good shots can pull it off, but there aren't enough good shots. Also, foxhunting gives the fox a chance to escape, which respects the quarry I believe.
I never thought of it like that, although I don't know any guns who've let shot foxes escape. Videos I've seen with dog hunting foxes are pretty brutal, biting the foxes legs etc, but I suppose it's the same as less accurate hunters or pest controllers.. having some dogs that shouldn't be allowed on a hunt.

@InsteadInstead Common misconception that the fox is ripped apart. Either the neck or chest is crushed in moments. Bullets allow wounded animals to crawl of and die of gangrene somewhere, much more painful. Good shots can pull it off, but there aren't enough good shots. Also, foxhunting gives the fox a chance to escape, which respects the quarry I believe.

I never thought of it like that, although I don't know any guns who've let shot foxes escape. Videos I've seen with dog hunting foxes are pretty brutal, biting the foxes legs etc, but I suppose it's the same as less accurate hunters or pest controllers.. having some dogs that shouldn't be allowed on a hunt.
Only concerned about avoidable suffering, not bothered about joining a 'ban'd wagon.. if we all team up against each other we'll have no countrysde left.
