  • what a load of shite

  • Conclision: Americans are all tiny versions of David. But they do not manage their fear. Therefore they take to their slingshots in abundance, over and over again, aiming at anyone, even shadows of their own. Hence they have become the country of blind and biggots, ruled by and home of Beelzebub. And we all know what the scripture says about good and bad, what final destiny awaits Beelzebub... Endure those of you oppressed, the time when Usa flags ther banner upside down is not long away.

  • This clip is edited WRONG. The flag is supposed to be turned upside down. Those who incorrectly edited this video are terrorists. Plain and simple. Watch yourselves.

  • now the question is did the americans learn any lesson from this movie?...I hope so.

save your young men from violence don't send them to war save them and save humanity as well

  • @MrNaryal

Since you seem to be feeling a sense of kinship with the Iraqis, may be you could answer a question that has been bugging me for quite some time ?

Why were Iraqis going ape-shit and killing each other after the invasion, instead of uniting against the aggressor ?

  • @wakniss because the aggressor used "divide to conquer" rule..it' so easy to use such rule in a country like iraq has many racial and religious sects...I'm sure americans were very happy when they see iraqis kill each other

  • @MrNaryal

Americans are not war criminals. They're good people, really good people from what I've seen of them in the past 5 years living in this country. Their administration was taken over by some very bad people though when all this happened.

  • I don't know why , but for some reasons this songs reminds me of "Fletcher Memorial Home" by Pink Floyd .

  • The forefathers EMPHASIZED to always question your government and never let them, those in power, at ease, and to not let them push your buttons because they work for you. If we give up all of our rights, we lose. Keep the upper hand on the government is what we're supposed to do as American citizens and to pursue our goals without too much government control, but enough to ensure it is fair for all even if we are not all equal, we should have equal opportunity. Always be wary to keep it in line

  • OMG a piece of fabric that was made in China is upside down. We need a gruff veteran like Tommy Lee Jones to correct the situation. It's men like this that are going to "CORRECT" Amerikkka! This is the kind of sentiment which makes people vote for douches like John McCain.

  • We're in a whole lot of trouble so come save our asses 'cause we ain't got a prayer in hell of saving it ourselves.

  • Tommy Lee jones is such a fantasic actor. From Lonesome Dove to this movie...such depth of character from a man of few words. @projecthurley---thank you so much for this video and the information about the song! They could not have picked a better one, the song, the movie....People, if you haven't seen it--then see it and you better have your kleenex ready! Thanks again....

  • what the relationship between the name of the movie and war on iraq ?

  • @IraqiGirl707

The film’s title refers to the Biblical valley where the battle between David and Goliath is said to have taken place. (Wikipedia)

  • @GoldfischPeter yes i know but what the relation between that and war on iraq

  • Great movie! Wouldn't mind seeing it again!

  • Hey I just watched the movie and Ioved it. Do you know what song it is in the end? it is beautiful.

  • if you're talking about the song that plays at the end, its "Lost" and it's performed by Annie Lennox

  • @projecthurley : Thanks! :)

  • Anyone knows what is the song in the background?

    Thanks!

  • Someone knows the song in the background?

    Bye!

  • im sorry when the flag is raised upside down thats a call for help isnt it Its been a while since ive seen this movie someone lemme kno what it means please

  • i love this end

  • I love this movie. I think it showcases how hard the actuality of war is. The ending shows this perfectly, as our country is in distress when we are at war. All of this argument between liberalism and conservativism is just an insult to the message of this fim and the soldiers that are fighting overseas. Yes the war may not be justified, but i personally think it is,a nd arguing over whether we should be there or not is sonething that is pointless and insulting.

  • @wpkid7 I totally agree, this war does show that, this country is at distress, it has nothing to do with liberalism and conservatism,

the soldiers once again are being the brunt of a war that is not their fault.

  • I thought the end was irrelevant to the plot, really. Not that I've lost respect for Tommy Lee Jones, that'll never happen .

  • @Arkethot The end could not have been more relevant. The plot is designed to showcase the devastating effects of war on young men and women. The US sends its people into wars. The distressing and traumatic effects on the nation can be seen and felt everywhere.

Btw, you're not confusing Tommy Lee Jones' movie role with his actual political attitudes, do you?

  • We shuold put up the flag of the united nation like the one in the film, not only the USA flag

  • Liberals they are to blame for everything, the reason the U.S. is in this war is because of liberals, oh right, it's because a conservative wanted to show his daddy he could do what his daddy couldn't and the man pulling the strings wanted to make money for haliburton, but it's the liberals fault, lets not forget that, yes its always the fault of the liberals, who are these liberals, so we can shoot them, oh right they took our guns away, I believe in the right to bear arms, also to speech, sorry

  • Liberals are to blame for nearly everything. Sarcastic, uneducated tools with internet access are to blame for the rest. People like rndtuet are just dumb enough to put a socialist in the White House due to perceived injustices by his predecessor. We can't repeal the right to bear arms in this country for one reason: Liberals, like rndtuet, should be allowed to shoot themselves in the face.

  • As someone who doesn't give a shit about politics, let me declare to you that you're an idiot just because your comment has absolutely nothing to do with what's portrayed in this film. Having said that, why don't you go spam another youtube channel with your political agenda. As of today, there is enough of you politico-fuckers on TV and radio. Let's try and keep it that way before you infest every other aspect of human leisure time with your senseless bullshit.

  • @TheSellexProject You don't give a shit about politics? Welcome to the world of apathy. Your ignorance is noted.. now, drink a bullet before you have children.

  • @devildogoif I suggest you take a bullet, because you still think that you actually decide something with your worthless vote. Go watch FOX or CNN, get your brainwashing for the day and then fuck off back to where you came from.

  • @devildogoif You don't understand much, do you?

  • @stateofsorry I fought for my country. Did you?

  • @devildogoif If you would say: I have understood WHY wars are waged, and now engage in the fight against the interests behind those wars, you would get a lot more respect from me than you do now. Unless you fought in WW2, you did not fight for your country, but for the economic interests of those who will not let you join them at their mindless victory parties. Just saying.

  • @stateofsorry You could have just said, "No, I never fought for my country." That would have saved yourself some time. And because you're a coward, your opinion is meaningless. Do the country a favor; invite every liberal friend you know to your home, lock all the exits and light the place on fire.

  • @devildogoif Wow. Just hope I'll never sink to your level. A human tragedy.

  • @devildogoif Wow you just destroyed him.

  • @devildogoif ya know I find it ironic that you love to point out that you fought for your country and I have nothing but respect for veterans and yet when someone, anyone, disagrees with you they should kill themselves. Ya know Theodore Roosevelt once said that if someone disagrees with any part of the government they are less patriotic if they stay silent than if voice their opinion. This entire country was started because people disagreed with their current rulers.

  • @devildogoif and oh yeah your statement that everything in the U.S. is the liberals fault, well hm lets review shall we. Regan (republican) originally set the huge Credit Card movement in place in the 80's which led to the housing bubble which led to it popping which has led to people being able to buy houses for $ 500 dollars in some cities. In the late 90's we almost fixed it, had a budget surplus of 10 billion dollars with Clinton in office (liberal)

  • @devildogoif then we had Bush, 9/11 happens, we go after Bin Laden, which was justified, I would never say that was a bad idea. Then all the sudden we have to stop Saddam Hussein because he has WMD's in the war you fought in. We go to Iraq, capture Saddam, the surplus disappears in 5 minutes we never find the WMD's Iraq is left in something very close chaos and the thing that was mentioned earlier about "the oil will pay for the war" never comes to pass.

  • @devildogoif One more, I doubt you've read the others but just trying. You said to stateofsorry that because he's never fought for his country he's a coward. Now, by that logic, every single person who joined any branch of the Armed Forces but never saw action...is a coward. I'm sure all veterans and currently enlisted men/women who have yet to see action would be very curious to hear that.

  • The best film I've ever seen. The end is brilliant.

  • I have never commented before but this movie is excellent portrayal of the effects of war on everyone or anyone there is no dealing with it excessive use of force on others leaves damage on us as humans

  • hang the flag upside down means: "International Distress Signal."

  • excellent use of foreshadowing by the way with the flag

  • this is great movie and scene for america now.

  • One of my fav films in recent years !!!

  • hanging a flag upside down , is a sign of discontent or a call for help from that given country .

eg : after 7/11 if USA didnt act overseas trying to get the people responsible for the crime . would be proper to hang the flag upside down in your lawn .

  • Its sad that you think that....this movie is not about the bashing the military it actually has an incredible theme, hell the fact that TLJ is in it should tell you that.....

  • what does it mean when you hang the flag up side down?

  • it is a sign of distress...what he said in the film silly

  • There is two meanings:

    - The first is that the country have surrendered to another country.

    - The movie meaning is that the country seeks help. IE: We are fucked, someone come help us.

  • I dont quite remember the movie why did he leave it upside down?

  • Totally guessing here...but i believe after learning of the horrors of the war and what his son became, he realized that the whole country and soldiers are in trouble and this is a sign of distress showing the war and its effects on everyone and what it can turn people into...i hope i got that out right XD

  • Don't mean to spoil the movie for anyone, but his actions are mostly based what other soldiers did to his son after their service in the states.

  • lost by Annie Lennox

  • what is the name of this song at the end?

  • Just for my two cents worth and sorry for the bad language, I think the final message of this movie which was told by the ending flag scene is ya know. Its all fucked up, this war is fucked up.

  • m1rock ->

Funny thing is, some of the actors who played the soliders in this movie were actually Iraq-veterans...

  • "Fighting for peace is like f*cking for virginity."

Not exactly my favourite quote of all time, but... There's a point to it, in my opinion.

I saw the movie yesterday, and I liked it. It was slow, but gripping and beautiful.

  • Fighting for peace is like Fucking for virginity.

the best thing i ever heared! u put a star where there should be a u.

  • Every time I watch this I cry; Every time, Im not even American ; good Lord, its just so sad but it was an amazing movie.

  • does anyone knows the name of the song and artist that is playing when he enters the strip club??

  • I just finished watching this,The ending tore me apart...Doesn't happen often, but wow...a must see, the message is increadible.

  • one of the greatest movies of all time

  • Amazing, I was in tears during the whole movie.. Shows many messages, and, I think this movie was underated. 5/5

  • this is why the fucking republicans didn;t want the country to see it especially those motherfucker chickenhawks on right wing radio especially pumpkin head hannity

  • Or people could just talk to veterans and not let Hollywood propagandists make their minds up for them....

  • The movie totally got me when Tommy's character realized how fucked up the whole thing was and hanged that flag upsidedown. Powerful scene.

  • Very powerful scene. I think this little gesture helps remembering the film a lot.

What it says is that loyalty to your family is more important than loyalty to your country, I understood that.

However I think the Star-Spangled Banner represents much more than what the current and other administrations have done to soil it.

If a symbol is that ambiguous I would not use it, nor do I like when the flag is show the traditional way.

  • it is a punishable offense in america 2 break the flag conduct

  • I don't really think he broke it,he may not have had the authority to hang the flag upside down, but there are several of us around who believe it should be hanging upside down.

  • I think it should be hanging upside down, but i also believe we can not stop fighting for peace

  • The whole point of the movie was that we are not fighting in Iraq for "peace".

  • To each his own

  • @000NoctemAeternus000 So, you wrote this a year ago. And yet I cannot help but comment on that. I sincerely hope that you don't believe anymore what you believed then. Nobody is/was fighting for peace in Iraq. I'm puzzled how anyone could fall prey to such propaganda.

Anyway, I think you're right in your first point. The flag should be hanging upside down. For a lot of reasons, the traumatic experience of a phony war being just one of them.

  • great movie, great message

  • does anyone know what is the title of that song in the background at the endig scene...?

  • It's called "Lost" and it's performed by Annie Lennox
