These people look to me an extension of the people living in northern areas of paksitan bordering china such as Hunza, Gilgit etc. , even the headgear of the women is also same as that of women from hunza valley in northern pakistan, Their music and dance is almost the same as that of hunza people, but they just seem to have more chinese blood and features.

I would even go one step farther to say these Tajiks in China have purer bloodline than ones in Afghanistan or other places. Why? These Tajiks have been living in a fairly remote mountains in China with little fightings. They would have little contacts with outside. Unlike in Afghanistan and other places where they have a lot of contacts with the Russians.

that's not true, these people were like scythians called saka's and they settled into these mountains to make a kingdom with the soghdians, then the muslims crushed them and soghdiana together and the khotan kingdom shattered into peaces, and also it caused the tocharians to die out

these people likely are mixed with mongolic and turkic people to some extant, they're mixed and they have fought, freakin ismailis they are cause they are pussies, they want to keep their zoroastrian roots :P

These people are Tajik. Just because these people work in the fields a lot that give them the dark skin colour. facial colour don't tell much. Han Chinese men who work in the office would have lighter skin colour than most white men even women. Beside, If they have said they are Tajiks than they are Tajiks.

Just to educate some of you ignorant people about our Tajik people, we have different features: The Tajiks of Afghanistan have more of European features, with light skin and sometimes blond and red hair and blue and green eyes. The same with most Tajiks from Tajikstan. But the Tajiks close to China border look a bit chinese. But we all are proud to be Tajik no matter how we look.

They are not Tajiks, they are Ugurs who speak a little Forsi because the area from Iran until china were forsizabon or spoken Farsi!

@harbin88 exactly - Tajiks and Uygurs are different. And these people don't look like ordinary Tajiks. I am sure they may have Tajik ancestors but these people are greatly mixed with Turks and Mongols. It's not even their facial features, look at their cloth and look at traditional Tajik cloth and you will see difference.
